5 Blends Coffee House in Cambridge

If you like your coffee don’t come here, you’ll be disappointed. This place presents itself as a proper coffee place, with 5 options of roast and origin and such. But what’s the point when all the espresso is under-extracted and the Americano tastes like dishwater? Cappuccino is the same: the coffee flavour is completely lost in the milk. And what kind of coffee specialist only serves in paper cups, even for sit-in?

Stopped on for coffee and sandwich. Choice of 5 coffee blends. Went for middle one and it really was great coffee. I drink it black but my friend who is vegan had hers with soya milk and said it was excellent. We also had a couple of rolls which were very tasty. The barista was friendly and very professional. Toilet very clean. This is an excellent coffee shop and well worth a visit

This is a lovely little neighbourhood coffee shop, and it looks maybe too cosy when you peek in the front door, but don't be fooled, there's quite a lot more space in the back (management would be wise to put a sign on the front door that says so--I saw several people look in, see that the few seats were taken, and leave). They've also got pre-made sandwiches and bottles for takeaway, but if we want to do some work and have some lovely coffee, this is a good place for it. They even have air conditioning, which struggled to keep up during the heat wave but was much better than a cafe without!

EXCELLENT coffee! Fantastic counter service, friendly, helpful and kind. There is usually a little line, but oh so worth the wait! You can pick from a few varieties of beans, prepared fresh for you.

Popped in for a takeaway coffee, the lady who served us was lovely and helpful, and the coffee was lovely, lots of different options!

We tried this place again to give it another chance after being unimpressed the first time and it's safe to say it was even worse this time around. If you want to go somewhere where the staff are rude and the coffee is bad then this is the place to go. For somewhere that specialises in coffee the staff should be able to recommend a coffee you might like when you ask, rather than just repeat the names until you pick one.

We really don't rate this place, for a 'coffee house' the coffee is poor! The waitress was just plain rude and patronising. I ordered a breakfast tea, an americano and a muffin - the tea was served in a latte glass and she poured the milk straight (I like very strong tea with a tiny splash of milk, this was drowned in milk!) it'd be better to offer a little jug of milk and a pot of tea. The americano had no crema and looked and tasted like instant although it wasn't because they had a selection of ground coffee, and the muffin was stale. When I ordered the americano I was asked which coffee I wanted, I answered 'just a standard one', the waitress was then very rude and patronising as she listed a number of coffees to pick from, none of which meant anything to me as I don't know what a 'bright' coffee is... Basically if you aren't fully clued up on various words used to describe coffee you will be made to feel a bit stupid. I asked for a tray to carry my things downstairs and she said she hadn't washed them so there weren't any, she didn't offer to help despite there being nobody else waiting to be served, she just watched me struggle. And to top it off there was an awful smell of faeces by the stairs to the downstairs seating area which is very echoey and noises. All in all not a great experience, we won't be going back and don't recommend it to others unless you want to be talked down to and patronised. Plenty of excellent cafes on Mill Road to go to, so avoid this one.

3 of us bought coffee to drink in . The guy who served us was very friendly and aimed to please,without being OTT. We were asked what sort of coffee we wanted. The coffee was good quality at a reasonable price. Focus here was very much on the quality of the coffee and customer satisfaction. Would definitely recommend it for anyone who likes coffee, which is different to what is serviced at the american chain establishments.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Popped in on a whim for a quick coffee! Not only was it exceptional but 5 star service from Chris!! Super friendly, informed and well worth the visit! Will be back indeed, thank you si much! Superb all round!

Popped in for a quick espresso and I have to say what a nice place this is to get anything coffee related. Excellent service v. Friendly , unique coffee selection and the downstairs gallery and seating area is a great surprise. Highly reccomend!

This is a lovely new place on the Mill Road. It's warm and friendly, coffee is excellent, 5 blends of coffees to choose from; the barista is knowledgeable and happy to explain differences between different blends. Services is very good, and the atmosphere very enjoyable. We only had coffee, but there were also sandwiches and cakes to choose from, and the café was rather busy with people ordering and taking away. Fully recommended, and I'll visit very soon again.

Really delicious coffee with a warm atmosphere. The barista will explain all the different blends available and you can sit in the window and watch the world go by

The barista was lovely! she explained the different types of coffee well and was very happy :D had a lovely strong coffee and then a hot chocolate delicious cakes too! cute little gallery downstairs to sit in too!

Mejor que el promedio. . . . no del todo muy bien . . . Pero quería darles un poco de ánimo. Todos los cafés son mezclas. . . sin embargo, la elección es bastante buena. Servicio agradable y un café bastante decente. . . . Mucho mejor que las cadenas. . . aunque no en los Bould Brothers o incluso en el nivel de Hot Numbers

Warm and friendly environment with relaxing decor, attentive and welcoming staff, good food and absolutely stunning coffee. Delighted to have found this place - cannot emphasise enough the strong quality of produce and service. Excellent.
