Wow what a treat!! We had a fabulous dinner cooked to perfection with fresh local produce. The owners, one of which is chef Patron, were absolutely the greatest hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We would like to say a huge thank you for making our evening one to remember. We will definitely be back.

Excellent! The food is wonderful beautifully cooked. Small menu with a choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses and puddings. Thoughtfully created and well balanced. Service is excellent. The restaurant is very small so you must book. It really should have a Michelin star.

Wonderful food from a small but well composed menu. The combination of flavours and balance of textures shows off the chef’s remarkable talent. It should have a * at least. Do go if you’re within 50 miles you will not be disappointed but wildly excited at the perfection of the restaurant.

We had heard rave reviews from our holiday cottage guests lucky enough to get a table but needed a really special occasion to dine here. That happened last night when our foodie friends and former Leicester neighbours (they take gastro city breaks to visit famous Michelin starred restaurants around Europe) came to stay... Almost two years into our move here and what a discovery. Despite this being our first visit, after some Instagram messaging we were welcomed like old friends and over the next two hours our taste buds were thrilled over and over again. Proceedings start with a surprise amuse-bouche – luxuriously rich Parmesan gougères, followed by an accomplished homemade focaccia. A confidently concise yet classic dinner menu (three choices per stage) showcases local and seasonal produce as well as more eclectic ideas. We both had scallops and pork belly for starters. For mains, Paul had the fillet of Hereford beef accompanied by braised ox cheek and pomme Anna; Angela a mouth-watering Monkfish tail, while our friends had some delicious Roe Deer . Desserts hail the comforting classics, perhaps crème caramel, treacle tart or baked cheesecake, while the cheese plate and crackers were to die for! After every course, our plates cleaned and Paul would have literally have licked his plate had he been allowed. 😋 Expensive, but simply stunning food, and by far the best dining experience for miles around.

My wife and I wined and dined at 33 The Homend in early August. Wow, what a fantastic recommendation by our Airbnb host Maria. We found Elizabeth and James, very welcoming and warm host. Elizabeth does front of house and everthing else to get the food and drinks to your table, she was absolutely fantastic, the menu was personalised for our wedding anniversary celebrations, which we loved. The chef James's cooking and presentation were fabulous, what an amazing chef he is. The restaurant feels more like an Auberge in France, it felt so authentic. The food was exquisit, and the wine and prosecco delicious. We are planning to return to Ledbury in the future, but only once we have a reservation at 33 The Homend. We both highly recommend 33 The Homend.

Another great meal at 33 The Homend; my OH and I couldn't fault it. Elizabeth is a lovely host; she's always bubbly and 'on the ball' with service. My OH and I both had the same starter and mains. To start, the crab and gruyere & onion tart were delicious accompanied by a flavoursome beetroot and cumin relish. For mains our sea bass was perfect. For desserts we had the cheeseboard and (my favourite) the orange marmalade pudding with drambuie custard. Well worth the £180 (incl a bottle of wine). One of the best restaurants in the area so we'll definitely be coming again.

A small intimate restaurant that feels it should be somewhere in rural France. Run by a husband and wife team ably supported in kitchen by I assume their daughter. Simple tables and table settings where the food is most definitely the centre of attention. The menu consists of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts. My wife and I really enjoyed the food. Yes it is expensive compared to its local peers but I would argue that it is excellent value for the quality that you get. Highly recommended

Four of us ate here this week. What a place! It’s very small but the food is great. The eel with pork was outstanding. Turbot, excellent. Puddings, great. Not much choice - a good thing - but the wine list could do with a few more options. Service was well paced and friendly. We will return!

Fantastic Micro Restaurant in the centre of Ledbury. We loved the small menu, which was well thought out and executed. The flavour profiles all worked perfectly. Wine list was also great. The service was excellent and friendly. Would highly recommend. We were staying in the area for the week and found it via Tripadvisor, the locals are lucky!

What a delightful restaurant! Our daughter and partner took us to celebrate our 55th. Wedding anniversary, it was probably the best meal that we have had in many years. Although the menu is small it was well thought out, and perfectly cooked and presented. Elizabeth is a bubbly, charming, friendly host. They say that good things come in small packages, that is certainly true of 33 The Homend.

Interesting menu. High quality ingredients, excellent presentation. Wine choice was limited but excellent choices / all available by glass / reasonably priced. As others have noted it is pricey - but food of this quality is hard to find so expected. Menu is limited to three choices each course but they were happy for me to raise potential issues (like fish - but not with meat in the dish) in advance of day of eating to ensure not scuppered. (Not sure if they can accommodate vegetarians.. ?). Would happily go again. And fully recommend.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have more reviews. It was absolutely phenomenal. The service was exceptional and friendly. I loved how personal it all was. The food was honestly some of the best I’ve had in my life. We pretty much ordered the whole menu as we couldn’t decide on what looked best, and we had no regrets afterward. Everything worked so well together (even things that didn’t seem like they would). I can’t speak highly enough really.

33 The Homend is a quirky micro-restaurant with only 14 covers. With its decor, it has a lovely casual and cozy atmosphere that feels like your eating at a friend's house. As co-owner, Elizabeth is a really bubbly, friendly lady who made my wife and I feel welcome the moment we walked through the door and during the evening did a fantastic solo job doing everything outside the kitchen from managing front of house to meeting diner's requirements on every table; no easy task. Diners can see on the web that the restaurant offers a relatively small menu with a choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts which are individually priced. Personally, I like this approach rather than being offered a fixed price 3 course menu where diners can feel pressured to take every course. I also liked the menu's slight bias towards fish. An annoying feature of some fine dining restaurants is the descriptive 'chat' you have to endure where someone sets out the provenance of each element of a dish. At 33, each dish was adequately described on the menu and if I had a question (of which there were few), Elizabeth answered it. As for the food, I can only agree with other's comments; it was sublime. Every dish was hot and perfectly cooked with great textures and complementary flavours. Following a beignet/amuse bouche my wife and I had sardines and smoked eel to start which were excellent and not a bone in sight. (Despite my initial reservations, I'm (nearly) an eel convert). This was followed by mains of fallow deer and beef fillet which again were excellent; they were melt in the mouth and each with a lovely jus. For desert we chose the cheese board and marmalade sponge (with a drambuie custard which was so amazing you could 'bottle it'). I'll also mention the warm bread which is baked in house; it's really tasty and great for clearing up the jus! Despite some comments I've read about portion sizes, I thought they were just about right. Pricewise, with a bottle of rose, the bill was just short of £200, which again, I thought was about right. My wife and I had wanted to visit 33 The Homend for some time and now we've been (and it's local), we'll definitely be coming again. It certainly lives up to its place in the Michellin guide.

The best restaurant in the UK? I don’t think anyone could argue that there is one better than this. Elizabeth’s attention to detail on front of house is at 3 Michelin star levels - everyone leaves the place a friend. You never have to ask for anything because she’s already done it in a natural and almost psychic level of understanding. James works alone in the kitchen cooking British dishes with local produce. The resulting plates are, without doubt, the finest I’ve ever tasted. He takes a blend of French flair (mothers side) with British solidness (fathers side) to an unsurpassable level.

What a lovely little gem this restaurant is and so understated for the experience, wish we’d discovered it much sooner! It really is tiny with only 14 seats in a completely inconspicuous setting on Ledbury’s main street. In fact after parking the car I couldn’t find the restaurant even though I was practically standing outside it, I had to call my wife, hilarious! The food was absolutely gorgeous, we both had the smoked fish soup starter and beef ‘pie’ (deconstructed). The beef was just melt in the mouth tender. We were served some little ‘amuse bouche’ parmesan beignets which were lovely and their home made bread which was delicious. Overall, for the quality of the food, the experience and Elizabeth’s friendly and chatty welcome we would highly recommend 33 and we’ve already booked our return visit.

Quirky, sublime and great food. You need to book in advance, as it only seats 16 diners. Front of house, Elizabeth is bubbly and very welcoming and the secret weapon their daughter. Food is first class and credit to Elizabeth husband, has a limited menu but caters for most, we were not disappointed. Homemade bread and a prawn beignets before our starters. Only downside was a group of four mature women, who were loud and had no respect for other diners, continually on face time and were rather annoying. Elizabeth did ask them to tone it down a little, but after a certain amount of time continued to be be disrespectful to other diners. Apart from these supposedly respectful muppets, the food and ambiance was great. See why they are mentioned in the Michelin guide. Good luck to all at 33 Homend.

A stunning meal at 33 The Homend. You always receive a warm welcome from Elizabeth. And James’ cooking is just fantastic. We had purely a fish night on Saturday. Plenty of fish on offer for starters and mains all fresh from Cornwall. A select selection of wines. A bijou warm and cosy restaurant where you can see James happily cooking away in the kitchen. A night to remember.

You could walk past 33 and not realise it was there. But don’t. The food really is stunning, and the service matches it perfectly. We had the sardines, crab and scallop to start, followed by the beef and the monkfish. All perfectly cooked and presented. The fillet of beef really did melt in the mouth. Drinks and wine are reasonably priced. There are only three choices for each course and a short wine list, but everything on both was perfect , including the home made bread. The service was really friendly and very professional. 33 really is a hidden gem, and very highly recommended. Thank you!

Our party of 4 was lucky enough to recently dine at 33 The Homend - as other reviews have noted it has a limited number of covers and only opens on selected days so worth planning well ahead. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building on the high street in Ledbury, itself a charming market town. You wouldn't know it was a restaurant from the outside. Inside it's got bags of character - service is warm and friendly, casual rather than over-bearing. The small menu (3 choices for starter, main, desert) focuses on local produce and, based on our visit, is beautifully put together with the finest ingredients. I could have eaten happily every dish on every course. The cooking is very assured and lets the obvious quality of the ingredients shine. Thoroughly recommended - definitely worth a detour as they say (as is Ledbury itself).

We are very lucky to be able to have this restaurant so close. The food and service is excellent and although expensive, always very enjoyable. I love the idea of a small intimate restaurant but this is a little tight on space, and the opening hours are rather restrictive so plan ahead, or perhaps you may be lucky to obtain a cancellation. No33 is a credit to Ledbury.
