3 Chef Original in Derby

I had pizza and chips and it was ok, but cheese and tomato pizza shouldn't have a curry taste about it, a bit off putting.

I'm not sure what happened this used to be a lovely place. I found a dark black hair in my kebab. The cheesy chips looked like they'd been on there side all the cheese was lob sided & chips were cold. The pizza was burnt and hard. No options for salad with kebab online called up and you tried to charge me for salad, after me saying I'm not paying for salad should be free on a kebab you said you'd sort it for free. Shish was burnt and to chewy. So disappointed probably will never order from here again.

By far the best food in the area, always call in when i’m working within an hour of here. The Chicken Tikka Kebabs and Garlic Bread with Cheese is a personal favourite 🔥👌🏽

Change in management maybe? Kebabs used to be huge and really good quality. Over time the portions seem to have shrunk and this last time the tikka meat was small chewy cubes and there wasn't much salad either. It's such a shame as I always saw this place as Derby's best takeaway but I can't say that now

This place is doing so well they seem to have opened there own call centre to keep up to date with all the takeaway bookings which is great news 😃 I popped in to collect a chicken korma and pillau rice after ordering via the call centre. It was ready within 10 minutes and for under a tenner has to be the best value and tastiest curry in Derby! It's a real creamy concoction and one of the only curries I can eat without having to use a flannel to mop my brow. Keep on cooking 👨‍🍳 🍳 👨‍🍳 🍳 👨‍🍳 🍳

I have ordered for delivery from these guys twice And I now will not go anywhere else They tick all the boxes for us absolutely best kebab we’ve had in the area The Value for money is top and the time on the delivery was well with in the given time both times oh and the chips are amazing Won’t go anywhere else Thanks guys

This use to be my favourite takeaway as there kebabs were delicious but just recently they have decided to use cheap donner meat which is very chewy and tastes like the plastic so I won’t be going back there to get food.

Lovely fresh food delivered fast. Great prices & the delivery guy was so nice, swapped our complementary Coke for Diet Coke and was a good guy.

Very disappointed with the chili Burger it shows a picture full of onion rings and chili and cheese but what was received was a plain burger with chili sauce on it nothing like picture. We order every week from here and always good and delivery is brilliant but thought I would have a change today wish I hadn’t bothered . I think the pictures need to be reviewed and amended . Sorry don’t like to leave bad feedback but felt this needed to be said ☹️

Yesterday evening, i ordered a chicken burger with chips and onion rings, absolutely horrible.The chips were hollow and had no potatoes, drowning in grease and hard. the onion rings tasted as though they had no onion and soggy, i rang up to complain and they were rude and continued to ask if my can of coke was ok, but did re send me the meal which turned up worse then the first meal. i didn’t want to ring up again as i didn’t want to bother them with again.disgraceful. food was not fit for human consumption!

The young woman who takes the orders by phone is a God send. This young lady always answers the phone politely. Tonight she got a little confused with my card details and handled it brilliantly. The foods great and so are the team. The receptionist stands out.

Nottingham Road 3 chefs is absolutely disgusting, the smell afterwards is disgusting. Ordered 3 chefs through phone service, the drivers FLY around nearly knocked over my children. The people who answered the phone is poor attitude people with little to no manners., Ordered from Roosevelt avenue as well better than Nottingham Road and better cooked, not to bad on the smell, and more eatable, hence why 2 stars and not 1. Atmosphere on both collection and delivery at Roosevelt - polite staff inside Roosevelt avenue shop but not on the telephone service - very rude telephone service. very poor attitude and need urgent training. You do get quite a few food for your money yet £1.20 for a can of pop that a 6 pack from a shop costs only £2.00 is a bit of a rip off everyone would agree. and also when the can says multi-pack not to be sold separately on it, is somewhat of a complete RIP OFF. I have given this place a 2 due to polite staff at Roosevelt and cooked better food than Nottingham Road. and the atmosphere was good at Roosevelt on collection. The phone service and poor driving is terrible. I would NOT recommend this place, I would say stick with the chip shop and not a kebab house like this ... These people also make up their own prices, ordered one week at my friends in derby and it was just shy of £20, ordered another time when visited derby and it was £31.60 - shows how much they try to have you over. BE warned the staff are very argumentative.

So I'm originally from the area but have lived in the US for almost 20 years. I am typically able to source most foods here in the States but the one thing that has eluded me is the traditional Doner Kebab I've eaten many times either sober or drunk. ( Mostly drunk !! ) My favorite place when I lived back home was 3 Chefs in Chaddesden. The owner was always friendly and seems to have a photographic memory of people. I would order not just Kebabs but all of my unhealthy comfort food from 3 Chefs as I lived nearby. Well I had to visit the UK recently and top of my food Bucket List was a 3 Chefs Kebab. I landed at Heathrow in the morning and drove to Derby. By Dinner ( tea ?? ) Time I was starving and there was no doubt where I was going. I ordered a Large Doner online and went to pick it up. The owner still remembered me even though the last time I went to the UK was 9 years ago and I gleefully picked up my food to consume at home. Once I opened it up I think I may have actually shed a tear of happiness when I saw the delight that awaited me. I couldn't finish it but that's not really their fault as I am obviously out of practice. It was tasty, large, good value for money and hit every spot I needed it to. I made a few subsequent visits over the next few weeks and even when we made a mistake with our order and my wife ordered something incorrectly, the owner corrected the issue, gave us the Pizza that was made incorrectly ( again our mistake not 3 Chefs ) and didn't charge extra. Incredible Service, Incredible food and my go-to spot for this kind of Food in Derby.

Half the order delivered, driver said the rest would be 2 mins, 40 mins later it finally turns up. Not offered a refund, customer service poor, owner offered discount on next order if I ordered again which I won’t, after ordering for many years I will never order again.

Had a tandoori chicken and it was cooked until you could not tell what it was this place has gone downhill last time for me

Just ordered doner and chicken mixed kebab, I received 4 small bits of chicken and to much doner meat to hide the lack of chicken, the donor meat was so,so greasy, all ended up in the bin, hardly any salad.

We ordered at 7.30pm it arrived at 9.30pm after ringing up to see where the delivery was! It arrived squashed in a bag and everything was cold! They had even wrapped 2 cans of ice cold coke and put them in with the supposedly hot food! Ridiculous! We had family around and thought we would treat them! Never again, it spoilt our evening! No one wants cold food!

I have broke my tooth on piece of bone from doner kebab, when I complained to manager " We don't make doner meat it self, not our responsibility, not ourproblem" he said!

I presume the doner kebab meat has been sourced elsewhere as sadly tonight it fell for once well below the mark, very bland and tasteless, artificial even! Sorry to say after a lot of years I won't be bothering again unless there is a change.

Great food,great staff,nice food,on last visit on the way home to Nottingham which we often do,we also sometimes drive from Nottingham to purchase food,unfortunately the price had increased to twenty pound,but lots of things have increased in price,however the amount we got appeared to be smaller,which was disappointing,hopefully this was a one off

Had a take away for here last night and I have a chicken tikka masala with rice, Chips and a naan bread and I also ordered a 12inch Chicken Tikka Pizza. First I got a phone call once I placed the order to say it was going to be before 17:45 and it arrived at around 17:00 which was fantastic and the delivery driver was a very nice bloke and they also sent a 1.5L bottle of coke which I didn’t realise they did so it was a great surprise. The food was hot and really nice so would defo recommend and I will be ordering from them again. Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ordered mega kebab which is £23 and the driver charge me £30 when I call to the restaurant they said the price is change from £23 to high jump £30 its very expensive not worth of £30

Love this place. Sunny is fab, always on time and perfect every time. Great value for money whether it's extra poppadoms or a cheeky free bottle of pop. Never fail to hit the mark when lazy and can't be bothered to cook. Thanks for our Christmas Eve treat.. see you in 2023!

Regularly order takeaway & usually excellent ......... so tonight I'm so disappointed to have been delivered chips that have obviously been cooked, reheated & as such are as hard as nails. Why??????? Why not freshly cooked chips as usual? They were completely inedible. Such a shame as everything else was delicious - totally ruined my meal. Please don't risk bad reviews & lost custom over chips - just make sure everyone's chips are fresh so you can get your usual 5 star reviews. Thank you

Ordered shish and tandoori chicken on a naan with lettuce, mayo and yogurt mint . Won't be ordering again it was disgusting and think a rabbit must have stolen my lettuce

Just had a lamb tikka madras and a shashlik special with garlic chili sauce. Absolutely fantastic, chicken was moist and the vegetables were nicely spiced. The garlic chili sauce was just about the best I've tasted, the garlic was there but not over powered and the chilli was nice and hot. The Madras had that dry heat you would expect but also upfront freshness and the lamb was clearly straight from the grill. Superb.....

I thought I'd try a different place to my usual as it's gone down hill, this was even worse, dried up fries, pizza and cheese garlic bread had no taste what so ever, I don't even have a word to describe it. I think I'll stick with home cooking I think.

Was looking forward to a treat, this was my first time ordering from here and it will be the last. Food did not look appetising at all. Pasty had been way over cooked in microwave and was soggy, garlic sauce was thrown at the chips (places I normally order from put it in a small pot) and looked like someone had been sick on them. Went in bin so save your money and go somewhere else.

Excellent Restaurant! And the food is good. However I would have awarded 5 stars if they hadn't changed the donor meat. It remained the same for many years and was very nice. It however sadly is not the case. No complaints with other dishes!
