2 The Square in Conwy

Didn’t see any rooms today but we enjoyed a lovely lunch with good customer service and my wife said that the potato and leek soup was delicious. I enjoyed a salmon and sour cheese with pickle sandwich on white bread with thick cut crispy chips on the side. Just what I needed after a long drive from the midlands 👍

Myself and my wife popped in for two cheese toasties and drinks the staff were friendly and attentive, the cost £23.00 was average , and tasty trouble was when I asked for salad cream which arrived in sachets and had a BBE 12/2022 not good, we were pushed for time so ate our food when I went to pay I mentioned the BBE date to the young lady who gave a blank expression so I just payed and left .

Sunday lunch was awful, dry turkey,cold veg,hard broccoli, red hot roasties, basically a mixture of hot and cold food ,for the price it was dreadful

Poor quality food and not good value for money. Lattes were nice and hot which helped fill us up. Appears to be bit of a tourist trap service not that friendly.

I had some time to kill, from getting off the train in Conwy, till Mayall's Guitar Shop opened, so I initially went in for a coffee, which eventually became a bacon sarnie and a fresh OJ as well. The service was impeccable. The food was well prepared. The ambience was spot on. I returned for lunch after shopping. The Ploughman's I had was very impressive (see attached image). Even though there were more customers, the service was still impeccable. I shall eat there again when I am next I'm Conwy

Really friendly and welcoming staff. When alerted to allergies/intolerances, they were very careful to make sure the food was prepared and served carefully, offering me a gluten free breakfast and able to provide a folder showing what was in different options. The food was served promptly, excellent serving sizes and a good choice of options. Really good value and for a little cafe, lots of seating which wasn’t packed together, but still felt cozy and welcoming. Thanks for your help and we will be back.

Unfortunately very poor. Round of 3 hot chocolate’s late and a tea. Both the tea & late were tasteless dishwater and the chocolate very similar. will never visit again. So many better options in the town.

I was touring conwy and needed breakfast, Google directed me here, enter the restaurant and was totally ignored, both staffs busy and didn't want to distract them out of courtesy, one backed me while the the other one saw me, my presence wasn't even acknowledged which is what I least expected, not even with a nudge. waited in front of the counter for more than 2 minutes, the staff who obviously saw me waiting finished what she was doing walked past me to attend to other customers at a table. then it was obvious I wasn't wanted there so I walked out.

Lovely service. We came in with a pram and the staff were very helpful trying to fit us in. We ordered food and drinks and it was all nice. Bit on the expensive side but everything around Conwy is. Whilst we were there, the staff also had to deal with a very rude customer who was complaining and throwing her hands up in their faces. This woman also had an issue with my partner changing our baby in the toilets. My partner made sure the woman knew we weren't happy about it. The staff handled this arrogant person very professionally, they shouldn't have to put up with that. Overall, a very lovely place to eat and we will be coming back.

Agree with others regarding the coffee. Basically a pint of boiling milk and bitter taste. Can't recommend. The milk was so hot it defied the laws of physics.

When you enter the place you don't exactly quite know what to expect from the menu. Interiors are a bit of a mish-mash of different styles and even the menu, albeit offering many items, was kind of difficult to navigate. It had hints of local, touristic and fusion. We settled on getting Welsh rarebit which was this tasty cheesy and sumptuous surprise - actually a traditional Welsh dish of melted cheese sauce on toast, often likened to cheese on toast. We also ordered jacket potatoes and the Specials of fried scampi and possibly the best chips we have ever had! Price was reasonable, service good as the two young ladies serving us were very nice although a bit hurried as there were several large parties having breakfast or lunch. All in all, quite a quaint place near Lancaster Square.

Nice place good food. Dirty glass provided, and son didn't get his drink with ours. Had to ask for it over 10 minutes later. Food was lovely.

Went in for a breakfast on our last day of our holiday as trip advisor reviews were good. What a disappointment: - Coffee was burnt and tasted bitter - upon watching the 'barista' make it we have realised that she was steaming the coffee as well as he milk. - Staff were disinterested and unaccommodating. We were told rudely that they would not swap the eggs on the breakfast from fried to poached, even though they serve poached eggs in other dishes. -Food was low quality and I was violently sick for 2 days within a couple of hours of eating the breakfast. I would recommend avoid this place and visit one of the other much better cafe down the main high street.

Popped in for breakfast and was welcomed with our puppy. Being new dog owners we are just finding that a lot of places do not like dogs in which is fair enough. But this little cafe has a little area for you to sit inside with your dog and they were really welcoming. We had a great breakfast and we all enjoyed it so much we popped back later in the day for coffee. A place we will visit again on our next trip to Conwy.

Not a hotel. This is a cafe in the square in Conwy. Nearby parking. Very friendly. Food and drink at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Genuinely lovely experience. The healthy start breakfast came with yogurt and perfect helpings of fruit, nuts, honey, preserves, and granola. It also came with a flute of fresh orange juice and toast. Tea comes in lovely little pots with proper cups. Staff was kind and friendly. For parents and people with disabilities, there’s a changing table in the bathroom, with little stools and a small kids potty, and there’s lots of grab bars and a call button as well. Truly lovely. Would come back.

Stopped off on our way home from Anglesey, did a quick search on Google for somewhere to eat in Conway, this looked like a good spot and we were not disappointed, we were greeted by Danielle, she told us to pick somewhere to sit and she'd be straight with us, the place was quite busy but we didn't have to wait long, the breakfast was excellent the service was excellent, couldn't fault anything, as busy as it was Danielle met everyone with a smile nothing was too much trouble, highly recommend, definitely will be going back ,

We found ourselves in Conwy in time for breakfast, we were served promptly and courteously. We had a Full Welsh and an Eggs Benedict, both were freshly made and delicious, good coffee too!

Went here for breakfast with my wife and had a lovely breakfast, the staff were great, the breakfast was cooked to perfection, the toilet was spotless

The food was FANTASTIC!!!! Nicest BLT sand which I’ve ever eaten. The scone was warm and this was so lovely and delicious. The staff are so friendly and overall this cafe is perfect for a lovely lunch. 10/10 definitely reccommended (could eat my food all over again)!!

This restaurant caters very well for Vegans and vegetarians and the staff are quick to serve. The prices are very reasonable and there is a calm but interesting ambience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

During our recent visit to "2 The Square" in Conwy, we decided to try their breakfast, enticed by the £10 price tag (excluding drinks). With high expectations for a quality Welsh breakfast, we were ultimately disappointed by the average experience we encountered. The breakfast itself fell short of our hopes. The bacon served was disappointingly thin, lacking the substantial texture and flavor we were craving. The sausages, unfortunately, were overcooked and had a filling reminiscent of hotdogs, which was far from satisfying. Additionally, the black pudding was sliced wafer-thin, leaving us wanting for a more robust and flavorful portion. Overall, the culinary offerings did not meet the standard we had hoped for. Furthermore, the staff seemed disinterested, which did not enhance our dining experience. Attentive and friendly service can go a long way in making customers feel welcomed and valued, but this was lacking during our visit to "2 The Square." On a positive note, the cafe boasts great decor, creating an inviting and pleasant ambiance. It is clear that effort has been put into creating an appealing atmosphere for patrons. The cafe itself is a nice space to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. However, despite the pleasant decor, we couldn't help but question the establishment's high ranking on TripAdvisor. Our underwhelming breakfast experience, coupled with the indifferent service, left us unconvinced that it deserved the acclaim it had received. As a result, we do not anticipate returning to "2 The Square" in the near future. In conclusion, while "2 The Square" in Conwy presents an attractive cafe with appealing decor, the quality of the breakfast fell short of our expectations. Thin bacon, burnt sausages with a hotdog-like filling, and meager portions of black pudding left us underwhelmed. The disinterested staff further detracted from the overall experience. While the cafe has its merits, it does not warrant its high ranking on TripAdvisor, and we do not plan on rushing back anytime soon.

It was good quality food (Welsh breakfast was 5stras while eggs Benedict 3) service was very average but location was 5. It is rather 3.5 stars

Popped in for lunch. Lots to choose from. Everything was delicious and the service really friendly. A little pricey but I guess it is due to the location.

Just had a pot of tea, but the service was lovely and it was so nice to be served with proper china and extra hot water for the pot. What a lovely change. Nice and clean establishment.

This lovely café was situated on the town square in Conwy, just a few yards from the railway station. We called in for breakfast. It was one of the few places open at 9am on a Saturday morning. It was warm and welcoming. The lady who served us was very helpful and lovely to chat to, someone who goes the extra mile. The coffee was good and served with warmed milk in a jug. I can recommend the eggs benedict with salmon (eggs royale?) and my husband and friends thoroughly enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast. I would definitely go back there again.

Our only regret was not calling earlier in the week. The lady whose name is Sue clearly has a flair for hospitality. Great food served with a genuine warmth of care.

Me and my husband had a lovely breakfast here.. loads on the menu to choose from. We had the full Welsh and the salmon egg benedict. Couldn't fault it at all. Lovely staff and great price. Definitely worth a visit. Will definitely be going back there.

Visited today with family. What a lovely warm welcome! The food was fresh tasty and delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. So so good!! Would highly recommend and definitely visit again next time we go to Conway. Thank you so much!!!!!

Clean but basic , uht cream for scones and not very traditional. Probably the worst scone and cream yet.

A modern and clean look design in the cafe which is still welcoming. The cafe is situated in the main square of Conwy so located well and easy to find. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cafe caters for wheat intolerance with their menu's. We ordered the millionaire's shortbread and a cream and sponge which was light and tasty. The shortbread was just as tasty. As a black coffee drinker I also found the Americano to be if a good quality. The extra touch was our cakes being presented on slates instead of just on a plate. Such an excellent service. Worth a visit Visited again Jan 2023 and what a disappointment. We ordered toast and when it came it was white still. We asked for browner toast and it was heated further which made it like cardboard. The bread was also thin and cheap but cost us enough. The waitress was pleasant but seemed disinterested. The cafe itself still had a good atmosphere though. After this time I will not be visiting again 😒

Worst breakfast we've ever had. Ordered a "Welsh" breakfast and asked if I could swap the mushrooms & tomato for 1 egg. Abruptly told "we don't do swaps it comes as it is" . The breakfast eventually came along with eggs Benedict. The "Welsh" breakfast was miniscule, massively overpriced, much was the same with everything else on the menu and all the meats were undercooked. The two staff members seemed like they couldn't care less that people were there making sly remarks to the customers which actually made 2 other people leave. Would seriously advise against anyone coming here unless your ready to get fleeced for rank food. Will never ever come again

Nice tasty Benedict great value and speedy service

While on a mini break staying In Chester we went over and visited Conwy & came across this cafe. We had a lovely Sausage sandwich and a Bacon sandwich. A touch on the expensive side but saying that it was very good & plenty of bacon & sausages on it. Staff very obliging & we was glad to get out of the blustery wind & rain that Friday 29th Sept. If we are in that area again then no doubt we will call in.

Called in for coffee and cake whilst sightseeing. Wife had the fruit crumble which was huge and very nice. I had the bara brith cake which was also very nice.

Really nice rarebit, the "blackcurrant cordial" is just Robinson's squash which is a bit misleading from the menu

Quaint coffee stop and restaurant at the top of the hill away from the quayside crowds. Visited yesterday whilst in Conwy and had a wonderful lunch. Fish finger sandwiches were excellent as was the accompanying salad complete with a strawberry or two. My wife had the ploughman's which was equally as delicious. Staff were very friendly and service was great. Recommended.

Sausage on bread I didnt really enjoy. The sausages not nice. They couldn't produce anything that was not on the menu ie add extra to a breakfast sandwich. Kids menu poor. Coffee was nice. Expensive.

I had lovely Welsh rarebit can recommend it, cafe ok, service a bit hit and miss but on the whole a nice visit.

The Welsh cheese, red onion & mayo wrap was a cheese heaven and the bacon, Stilton, onion chutney Panini was amazing !

Very expensive. A café charging restaurant prices. Fish, chips and peas and a pot of tea for two, £31.35. Fish was watery and slimy (not in batter and not told this). Cheap condiments in sachets. Staff abrupt. Be warned and save your money. There's a lot better in the town.

Ordered 2 welsh breakfast and tea and a latte and it came up to £35. Really pricey. Breakfast was awful black pudding and sausages were under cooked. Avoid at all costs! Don’t waste your money!
