We arrived without a booking (and just wandered in off the street without any Google checking of reviews) and were immediately seated. We were a party of three with one in a wheelchair however, we were able to stow this in a corner. The cafe/restaurant is wonderfully traditional; no blaring music, a classic menu and a decor that hasn't changed in years and absolutely doesn't need to. The staff were attentive, friendly, efficient and clearly good at what they do. We had three decent pots of tea, two huge BLTs, an egg and cress mayo all accompanied by a phenomenal salad and two decent portions of chips for £40. The bacon was excellent, the bread fresh and the salad crispy. The homemade coleslaw was perfect. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked well made and hearty. We'd go back in a heartbeat (and we're exceptionally fussy); especially on a blustery cold day in a window seat opposite the sea. On a side note, the fresh cakes and the ice cream parlour looked wonderful. Something for everyone!

Like stepping back in time. Very sedate surroundings. The food was just right. It was a windy mid-week but the restaurant was busy. Went back layer for an ice cream cone, yum.

Amazing service, the ladies could not help you enough. Only improvement would be if the large Pepsi was actually large. It seemed to be on the small size for 2 pound odd. I don't think it was even a full can of Pepsi.

Pleasant stop for a coffee and cake. Nice clean, friendly environment, on the plus side the toilets are also clean and fresh.

Good choice of ice cream flavours, service was a little slow as staff were dealing with an elderly customer who had spilt a hot drink, but overall would return.

Came for a coffee wasn't overly impressed and quite expensive. Restaurant is clean and bright and plenty of seating.

If you go here, dont expect anything. Arrived did not know what the process was..told wait here..so did final guy asked what wanted..to sit outside..no he was take order.. but No table crazy... next women stood behind count start shouting at me..how rude..this is not a place to eat..if think ok to scream at customs..and you wanted my money..this last place to go...give a miss..dont go

Good old fashioned seaside atmosphere and service.

Waited over 90 minutes on table 3. Why? Asked 3 members of staff to take our order. One said, then forgot! Pasta bake @ £10:95 so small it was almost funny, except it wasn't. Then another debacle trying to pay. Unreal experience.

Good all day Breakfast. Lovely polite staff. Clean and smartly presented. Attentive. Coffee a little strong for me. Bright and airy restaurant.

We love coming to this cafe. One of the best lattes in town and the staff are so friendly and fun.

Very expensive cafe, clean but basic. Went in for lunch but prices extortionate so just got a basic coffee, they wanted £9.15 for 2 bread, 2 bacon and one egg!!!

Disgusting! Food was awful, overly greasy and cheap quality, service was bad, the staff had no people skills, toilets were filthy, not good value for money. I felt cheated out of money and felt sick after leaving. I highly suggest never stepping foot in the place

This is a very nice place to meet up with friends for a coffee and a tete-a-tete. Quite upmarket for a cafe. Clean and tidy, well-run, with very nice tea and coffee, and an excellent and very tempting selection of cakes and pastries, and their prices won't break the bank!

Nice cafe opposite the sea front offering a range of small hot meals, sandwiches, cakes and ice creams as well as hot and cold drinks. Nice inside, plenty of seats inside and a few outside.

Overall Experience - blend Sunday roast with very sweet cream dessert 1. Dessert - really disappointing, mint tasted cheesecake doesn’t go well and doesn’t taste any cheese in cheesecake. The other dessert was just was too sweet 2. Sunday roast - thinly sliced, boiled vegetables and beef, very blend after adding gravy, pudding is sad as there’s only one, boiled potatoes are blend, roasted ones are not too bad 3. Service - friendly staff 4. Serving time - 20 mins 5. Affordability - a bit pricy (£17.50 for a set of main course with dessert) 6. Atmosphere - air conditioned and clean

We had ice creams and they were delicious. Portions were big and very good choice of flavours. Coffee was good too.

The greatest charm of Fortes is the fact that it's "Timeless" having never really changed for decades. With its prime corner location overlooking the little harbour it never fails to draw the customers who enjoy the view through the windows. We both had a cold & warm drink together with the scampi. Perfectly cooked and piping hot with new potatoes and garden peas .....Mmmmm yummy 😋 The staff are always polite, friendly and impeccably turned out. All-in-all an unchanged recipe for a perfect seaside eatery. Best still are the desserts and ice cream counter from which to finish off your meal. Why change a winning set-up ????

2023 Dessert dishes are now very expensive for what they are. Coffee not as good as it used to be . A very clean resturant , with very pleasent staff. 2018 Stunning service and food would go again...we were recommened to go here by a friend and we were happy we went.

We usually go to Forte's in Rhos-on-Sea for tea and coffee and a cake or snack. It is a light and airy space and immaculately clean. On the latest visit we decided to have an all day breakfast each and we were not disappointed. Great quality products - perfectly cooked - served hot on piping hot plates and nicely presented. It was very busy - however we didn't have to wait long for service. We sat at one of the large picture windows looking out onto the beachfront and the sea. Fantastic view. Staff are always attentive and very friendly. Some would probably say - "Good old fashioned service " Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rhos.

Bright , airy modern cafe good varied menu, reasonable prices and a great selection if ice cream flavours

We were taken straight to a table, even though it was a busy lunch period. As one would expect, service was on the slow side, but the waitress did her best to speed up our orders. We were provided with a pot of tea for two immediately. When our food arrived, our meals were fresh and hot. We did get a 'check back' to ensure we were satisfied. We can recommend them, especially on a 'less fraught day'.

Cheeseburger and chips very dry no amont of sauce could make it good enough to eat , pepsi was more carbonated water with a dash of syrup , staff were lovely and polite especially waitress who served us but too many standing around not enough for them to ( 1 waitress stood over 20 mins with a table having a natter ) despite it being lunch rush hour , management took there lunch and ate together within the restaurant infront of customers which seems a little innapropriate from a customer point of view , decor outdated needs a catch up with the time

We always love going into Forte's at Rhos on Sea. Everyone is so polite and the service is excellent. Can't fault anything.

Just lately the food has been good , but one member of staff is having a hard time being told to do things and staff having a go in front of customers nor professional and apparently the chef came out swearing the other day I am not happy with the situation you sir there having to listen to it .

We waited a minute for a windowside table which was quickly sorted for us and we enjoyed a lovely coffee and cake with the view. The young lad and lass who served us were great, very polite and helpful. Toilets were clean.

Very nice cakes but £6 for a piece of lemon meringue cake with squirty cream is very expensive. Also no hot water with the tea

Ordered 2 specials (use the word with reservations) roast turkey dinner and roast beef dinner. Roast beef was disgusting, taste and smelled like it was off. Turkey tasteless and so thin it disintegrated. No roast potatoes as they had run out, boiled potatoes must have been boiling for hours, soggy and unpleasant. They took the food away barely touched, I told them it was unpleasant and possibly "off" ... the reply oh sorry, I will bring you the desert menu !!! 2 soft drinks and 2 specials =£40 ...... keep away from this place. Staff looked like a school outing to be honest.

Young staff were lovely, I had poached eggs, tiny eggs, not pouched at all...awful.

Lovely restaurant right on the promenade with outdoor seating for families like us with a dog. Really good friendly service, great coffee and delicious food. The ice cream is particularly tasty. Worth a visit

Visited Forte's at Rhos today and the food was very good and plentiful, very easy to order and very well organised, the food arrived quickly and what a lovely clean place.

Not as good as it used to be. Hefty price hike on food nearly doubled in less than six months. Others offer more quality food. Sad to say this as we have been going for years.

Bit noisy when busy, good food but prices have gone up a bit too much in my opinion. Good location as in views of the seaside. Despite my negativity, still go there!!

Just had a so called Sunday lunch .honestly worst I ever had. Turkey and beef disgusting sliced so thin like you have on sandwich definitely not home roast . Bland tasteless and very very poor min effort min taste .the desert was ok but the smallest of pieces .dreadful. we eat out regularly this was awful .the young lad who served us was very polite. Never again.

Just go in for a coffee with friends every couple of weeks. Good coffee & friendly service.

To loud and couldn't hear yourself think! They don't do gluten free and they don't even have it on the menu!!! Very bad for a restaurant to not serve gluten free. Its everywhere in places now.

Been a few times over the years and recently was no different.. offering a warm welcome with such friendly, kind staff whom are always lovely. The food is exceptional, tasty cooking and generous portions!

Gave me a very poor portion of ice cream which ruined the visit. Won't bother again.
