My husband and i had our own oatcake shop in Staffordshire and we can say that on the 2 occasions that we actually found this shop in Llandudno to be open ,the oatcakes were "up to scratch" . However,we found ourselves in Llandudno (we are not local),in the month of June for 3 weeks and went again and again to the shop ,but it was never open. The adjoining shop owner told us several times that the Oatcake shop was not permanently closed and that she had tried to contact Sue the owner several times ,to no avail. It's a shame ,as the shop had loyal, regular customers apparently and Sue made a good product.

It makes and sells Staffordshire oatcakes. Little more. But delicious, and if you have never eaten them then go and try. They are best eaten cooked fresh as they do not keep. The prices are a bargain. The owner is so friendly, but opening is when there is likely to be trade for things cooked in front of customers.

Came in for a cup of Hot Chocolate, only to be welcomed with an opportunity to try the amazing oatcakes! Definitely would recommend as they taste delicious and is ran by the lovely Sue. Also Hot Chocolate is better than Costa and at less than half the price! Couldn't believe how low the prices were!

I stopped going here because I could never find it open.Don't get me wrong, Sue, who runs the place, is a lovely lady who makes the real mccoy oatcakes - fresh, from mixture, on a real stone, and I love especially the cheese and bacon ones. But she closes early and although I only live 4 miles away I got fed up with not being able to get served. The last 2 times she was barricaded inside the shop while I was beating on the door, so I gave up.I was there the day before yesterday - same result, so I decided to try again yesterday. I thought I'd be in with a chance as I'd decided to walk round the Orme (a walk of 6.5km).Same result - a closed shop, with (just to take the proverbial) a bag of shopping inside the door.Never mind, I thought, I'll be back in a couple of hours, and hungry.Which I was, to find the same locked door and the same bag of shopping! There was language...Sorry Sue, but you need to be in the shop to serve people.I'm still giving the place 5 stars because when it's open it's great, but it's never flippin' open and I'm not happy.I love oatcakes - I was going to have 2 cheese and bacon and take a bagful home with me :o(

How has this place been open 4yrs and I’ve only just discovered it this weekend? I must be walking around with my eyes shut. Best oatcakes outside of Staffs. Made by a Staffs born n bred lady so these are the real McCoy not some poor imitation. My 9yr old son wolfed down his ham n cheese oatie and I snaffled my chorizo and cheese one equally as quickly. Absolutely gorgeous. We’ll be regulars from now on I can guarantee.

Lovely shop and owner, it is a pity there is no seating inside, there are a few tables outside. The owner works this outlet herself cooking the oatcakes freshly first then filling them to your choice, a truly traditional taste. The Oatcakes are delicious and the best lunch take away in Llandudno.

Hubby and I are originallly from Stoke-on-Trent (now live in Gwynedd) and love our native North Staffordshire oatcakes. Today (Thursday) we were looking forward to having our breakfast here but unfortunately it was closed. We went back again for lunch but it was still closed? There was no sign in the window giving any information at all. Therefore, I have given it a "poor" rating due to the poor customer service. However, I would like to believe that the oatcakes (if authentic) would have tasted delicious.

What an incredible find at the pier end of the town! We visited last weekend on a day trip to Llandudno from Liverpool and stumbled across this place. We'll be back for the oatcakes alone! The owner Sue was one of the nicest people we've ever had the pleasure to meet and works so hard to maintain exceptional standards! With roots from the Potteries, it was like being back in Burslem and nothing was too much trouble for her, the value was absurdly cheap, we'd have paid 4 times what she charges! It's a bit unexpected to find a shop on the North Wales coast specialising in the local delicacy of a county a hundred miles to the east but if you make your way onto Llandudno's Upper Mostyn Street you'll find this tiny little shop selling Staffordshire oatcakes. For the uninitiated these oatcakes are basically savoury pancakes served with a filling, usually involving cheese plus some form of meat including ham, sausage or chorizo (in this shop at least). Prices range from 80p for a cheese oatcake up to £1.20 depending on your meat of choice. You won't go here for a full meal and it's not exactly fine dining (unless you were born and brought up in Stoke-on-Trent!) but it's cheap and tasty enough and makes a change from M&S; sandwiches or Greggs pasties if you're looking for a quick takeaway snack.
