Abbasi’s in Conwy

We were here over the weekend to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We originally looked at a different restaurant down the road that is very popular and has rave reviews but after standing for over half an hour with no table we headed to Abbasi's. What a treat. The lady who welcomed us in had limited tables but was extremely accommodating and saw us to a table. The food was delicious and the service was quick, efficient and warm. Very pleasant evening and would absolutely return again. The price was more than reasonable and only a short distance from our hotel. 4 min drive/12 min walk. My husband even got a takeaway Mango Lasso and he was chuffed.

This was very good. I took a couple of friend for a curry when they stayed in Penmachno. Easy and free parking. An excellent meal and plenty of freshly cooked food. Highly recommended here in the Conwy valley.

The place was empty and we were directed to a table for 2 which was so close to the wall. I asked for the table next to it which was not allowed as to it was a table for 4. We normally order side orders etc but the table we had was so small I didn’t want to.

Absolutely brilliant went there last night for my boyfriend birthday,couldn't fault it 1 of the best indians weve been to,staff lovely and friendly food delious outstanding thank you.

Three of us ate here on a Saturday night and were very impressed. The food is lovely, authentic Indian food. Lamb was deliciously tender. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Will definitely be back.

Probably the worst Indian takeaway that we have ever had! It was very similar to a frozen ready meal and I’ve actually had tastier curries from Tesco! Also super expensive….£12.50 for a curry and the cartons weren’t even full! Very disappointed and we will not be returning!

The atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant and the food was amazing. Probably one of the best curry’s I’ve ever had and that’s a high compliment from somebody who lives near Birmingham, the home of the curry house. Thank you very much for your hospitality’s and service.

Went for dinner with my family. As looking for a nice Halal restaurant. The lady at the reception was very friendly. Service was excellent. Food quality was excellent as well. Definitely recommended. Nearby parking was very good as well £2 only from 6pm-8am. You can also walk around to see high street.

Reasonably priced, good quality food. Large portions, friendly staff, can be a bit crowded & noisy when the place is full tho. Vegetarian and vegan options clearly marked on the menu. You can choose your food to be mild, medium or hot. Dine in or take out options.

I don't like to give below 5 unless it was a poor experience. Overall this place is lovely. Nice and clean, friendly and efficient staff. The food tasted nice and was nice and warm. Only one thing which I could be totally wrong about is with regards to the food. I asked for mushrooms with my chicken balti but they didn't do it. My partner also asked instead of lamb could she have a chicken korai which they don't do either. This has led me to believe these are premade Currys . overall a really lovely night.

The rice may be undercooked or overcooked, leading to a grainy or mushy texture.The biryani may not have enough spices or flavor, leading to a dull and uninteresting taste. Not worth for the money as u already have biriyani.

Absolutely incredible food and service from this family run restaurant. The best naan bread you'll ever have. If you're in Betws you must dine here.

Ordered a bunch of vegetarian dishes and was completely disappointed. It was written as it was the best and authentic indian cuisine but wasn't. We ordered Puri Chholey spicy but it was more tangier and non spicy. Vegetable biryani was not actually a biryani, it was sticky rice more like pulao. Don't ever order poppadoms, it was okay. Naan was great, but the paneer butter masala was sub par.

What an exceptional place! We wandered in late in the evening and were hoping to still get a meal. Not only were we greeted with warm smiles and amazing aromas wafting from the kitchen, but the great welcome was followed up with THE most fabulous dishes. Cooked to our liking and served in a promt, hearty manner. Beautiful place, beautiful people, beautiful food.

A really good tasty curry the food and staff very friendly highly recommend the Chicken Rogan Josh and you can have it to whatever you prefer mild, medium or hot.

We had a delicious meal! They serve my favourite drink: mango lassi. The food was excellent and we got a box to take the leftovers home. The staff was kind and service was quick. I do recommend eating here.

Abbasi's for fantastic food and service! Great atmosphere and very welcoming with traditional music and all staff very attentive. Highly recommended this restaurant to anybody. We are a family including children which they will cater for if needed. Wide variety of food available. We had fried fish kebab, Chicken Tikka and Chicken biryani. All tasty and freshly prepared as to our spice strengths.

After a long Sunday's hike on the mountains, we were looking for somewhere that still served dinner after 9p.m Abbasi's were the only ones still serving still in the vicinity of Capel Curig and Betws y Coed. It was well and truly amazing food and hospitality, highly recommended 👌

Excellent Indian food in a little mountain town. Thankful that “hot” really means hot here. Daal, chat, lamb curry, naan, and a massive mango lassi left me very very satisfied.

Warm and cosy place with a great authentic taste. It took time for the food to arrive because it was freshly cooked. Recommended to try their chicken tikka and chutney tray.

Although, personally I don't like a lot of coriander which I feel was a little much, this is by no way a reflection on the food. The option of Mutton is a pleasant change from the usual dishes and was cooked perfectly, along with the chicken my wife had. The service was very good and we didn't feel rushed when there. I advise booking a table because this is a very busy little place and easy to see why, overall a lovely place to eat with great atmosphere and great staff.

While spending summer holidays in Snowdonia, we chose to have early dinner in Abbasi’s today and we bring with us amazing experience overall. Staff was very polite and welcoming, the food (vegetarian) was very tasty. We would highly recommend this restaurant and will plan to visit again.

The absolute best curry I’ve ever had. The most authentic and tastiest ever. The staff are all lovely and so so welcoming. A little gem of a place. I wish I didn’t live 3 hours away, because if I didn’t this would definitely be a regular of mine! I absolutely recommend Abbasi’s 100%

Stopped by after going up Snowdonia and it was a needed and satisfying end to the day. The manager was welcoming and the mutton biriyani was delightful, everyone at my table enjoyed their food too.

Whilst the 20-minute wait was as expected at this establishment, the quality of the chicken seekh kebabs (£8.50 each) was less than expected, unfortunately - rather too salty for our liking. Take-aways in Betws seem notable by their absence or early-closing - this particular warm and pleasant Thursday evening. So, there was little choice in the matter. Quick update on the take-away: Following a contactless, unreceipted (aha!) card payment via Abbasi's iPad, have uncovered that as well as paying the eat-in price, 10% was then added to the bill without consultation. A service charge, perhaps; for being relieved albeit politely of the sit-down price in the first place? An authentic tourist trap if ever there was one! So the previous 3☆ becomes a 2☆, I'm afraid!

Not doing this to be rude but just want to give a warning for people that appreciate value of their hard earned money as it was so very very over priced!!!!!! tbh i wish we argued the bill as i feel as a customer you should be able to express your dissatisfaction of the services you are paying for. *****THIS IS NOT YOUR NORMAL INDIAN.****** Was told this was authentic Bengali food when we complained about the blandness of the food but i have tasted plenty of Benglali food and it has bundles of flavour and spice this is not it!!!!!!! popadoms and sauces 100% store bought. every single curry tasted the same............. of nothing! thought id play it safe and get a mutton kebab and chips was very wrong indeed dont want to tell you what the kebab looked like as i think you can use your imagination. well just leave that there. Beer was warm. all animals welcome including a parrot!!!!! very strange experience and feel like id been robbed tbh.

We were a bit reluctant to come here due to negative reviews. We are very glad we came. Chicken korma and lamb rogan josh were 10/10. Pilav rice was also amazing. They have gluten free options and the owner reassured us that they are very careful about it. It is a bit loud inside and we advise you to book in advance. Great place. We happened to chance upon this place on our recent trip to Betws-y-Coed while staying in the historic town of Bala. While we weren’t surprised to find an Indian restaurant we were surprised how sub par the food was. We ordered a takeaway of 1xMadras Chicken Curry, 1x Butter Chicken, 2xChicken Biryani and 6xGarlic Naans based on the recommendation by their manager/ front desk. Regrettably, only the garlic naan had any discernible flavour. The chicken biryani was an odd mishmash of overcooked rice drowned in a bland curry sauce. The two curries were equally disappointing—a complete write-off. Considering the hefty price tag (almost £80), this was a major letdown. The saving grace was an enthusiastic and friendly server. Other reviewers had rated Abbasi's highly, which raised our expectations. Unfortunately, reality fell far short. This, therefore, would sit at the bottom of my list for an Indian restaurant and I personally wouldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic Indian fare. Remember, dining experiences can vary, so take our review with a pinch of salt. However, our disappointment was palpable, and we hope others have a better experience.

For a two we had ordered chicken biryani, 2 Chapathi’s, Chicken Balti and Chicken Sheek Kebab. We were surprised to have a delicious Indian dishes in UK. Delicious food! Biryani was well cooked with tender meat.

A absolute gem! Upon arriving my friend and I were greeted with amazing service, as the waitress was very polite. Once seated we were catered to hastily. The timing for food to come out was good as there no long waiting times dispite being busy. The waitresses were swept off their feet as there were only two catering for everyone but managed to meet all needs with great quality. The food was some of the best indian food I've had in years, you can tell real care has gone into these dishes and served with passion. It's not often you're able to find good quality food with such late booking on a Friday. I would definitely be recommending this eatery to family and friends. Well presented and cooked well. We asked for medium heat, and it was perfect. We shared an entree and a main with rice and bread. There was plenty.

I felt I was pressured to finish my food on time. Music was off 20 mins prior to closing, we were still eating. Flies everywhere, had to swat the flies off our food. Staff were rude and disappointing not knowing their own menu. Ordered a mild curry and was given extra spicy starters. Overpriced. Customer service was horrendous. Not a very nice place to eat.

Food was lovely but very disappointed when the bill arrived to find a 10% service charge had been included. There was no mention of this when we ordered or on the menu. I didn't make a fuss as we had booked to eat here for my partners birthday and didn't want anything to spoil our weekend away. Also, we had a very cheerful waitress, however, we were approached several times during our visit to be asked if we wanted or were ready for more drinks, the first time was literaly just after we had received them and the second time, even though our glasses were still half full she went to remove them. Would possibly eat here again as we enjoyed the food but won't be recommending to friends and family.

Service was quick and polite. Food was greasy and too expensive for what it was. Didn’t eat in. They were the last place still serving food, but I’d have been better off going to co op.

If you get the poppadoms, they don't come with anything but they'll offer you diced onions when you order - don't be fooled, they're not spiced onions, it's literally just cut up raw onion and will cost you an extra £2. If they ask for feedback and you say the onion chutney wasn't great, that won't go down well either but they will be happy to explain the difference between diced raw onion and chutney, which was helpful. Otherwise, it was fine!

The food was so fresh and flavorful and there were plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians. My second time coming here and I will return each time I’m in the area!
