2 Oxford Place in Leeds

Lovely festive romantic meal for me and my partner. I highly recommend the Crusted North Sea Black Bream as it was the nicest fish dish I've had in a very long time.

Booked a table for 4-6pm (the only slot they had left), got the usual note to fine us if we didn't turn up. Traveled from Manchester to try this place. When we arrived at 4pm, they told us they had deleted our booking. Then they told us it was our fault they'd deleted it (we asked them a couple of extra questions). Then they told us the kitchen was closing anyway. Just lies.

This place is amazing! If you are looking for a relaxing, cozy atmosphere and great British dishes, this is the one. Friendly and super helpful staff, went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with everything. Every meal we had was delicious and something to remember! Great birthday dinner, much appreciated.

Absolutely loved it. Everything on the menu is gluten free. The food is a little expensive for a Yorkshire man but the quality is great.

The Black Sea bream and my partner’s battered haddock (a la carte) were off the scale good. 10/10. I wished they would have warmed the plates though to keep the food warm enough BUT the food won the day.

So very glad we booked The Oxford Place on a visit to Leeds with friends . None of us are restricted to a gluten free diet , but booked after reading positive reviews. The atmosphere is lovely … homely, intimate. The service excellent - warm, friendly and efficient staff. The food really was fantastic , we all had different dishes, and everything was so tasty, well presented, and just wonderful

A coeliacs dream! We ate as a party of four people. Every course was delicious. It was so nice to eat out and not have the nerves about if you were going to be ill. The veg tempura & baked mozzarella were delicious. All the portion sizes were great. Definitely recommend this place if you are gluten free. The cheesecake was probably one of the nicest desserts I’ve ever had.

Everything was amazing from the gorgeous plentiful food, to the outstanding service. The room was perfect for up to 20 people and the whole experience really made the day extra special. All our guests have continued to comment how superb the service and the food was. We can't thank you enough ❤️

My husband is a coeliac (he MUST eat gluten free food) and has to be VERY careful what he eats or he is very poorly. We were very warmly greeted and shown to a table. We had booked as it was a Friday night and the place looked busy from previous reviews. My husband ordered the chicken, bacon and mushroom pie and asked for thick cut chips instead of skinny fries. I ordered the beef lasagne which came with skinny fries. We did not bother ordering a starter each as we wanted to try the desserts as I had downloaded the sample menu prior to booking. The food was delicious and the service very unobtrusive but attentive at the same time. The tables very nicely spaced out so you didn’t feel crammed in and the atmosphere was lovely. I particularly liked the animal wallpaper. My husband sampled two gins whilst there which he also enjoyed. For dessert we both ordered Tiramisu. It was absolutely delicious. A real treat. Although there are other places in Leeds to eat that are cheaper, the quality of the food, the service and the fact that the food is all 100% gluten free made a really lovely dining experience for both of us. We will be back if we visit Leeds again.

Amazing gluten free restaurant! Lovely atmosphere :)

Party of 4. Food was lovely, wine was well advised and service was impeccable. Only issue was that it wasn't very busy on a Friday evening, which was a shame as it was good value and the hosts are lovely. Would 100% recommend, as this place should be full and we will be going back for sure.

The center has friendly and polite staff, but it needs some development and attention. I will share my experience from last Saturday morning: I arrived at PSI Leeds early, but the gate was locked and there was no one to open the door. There was no contact information or bell number. and this information was not mentioned in the email. I had to wait until someone who had completed their test came out of the building and opened the door from inside. The email mentioned bringing the biometric card or the ID used for registration, as driver's licenses are no longer accepted. If you registered with a driver's license, it was advised to contact the center for adjustments. However, at the center, the staff member asked me for my driver's license or passport to verify my signature. This should have been clarified in the email or on the center's website. In the testing room, I had to request headphones from the staff as they were not available at the computer.

I am only in Leeds for a short while with work. A diagnosed Coeliac, I found this amazing restaurant through an online search for gf food near me. And goodness, I was SO glad I did. A fully gf menu means Coeliacs can choose anything at all. Liberating. And there's a wide choice of drinks, starters, mains and puddings. Oh my goodness, it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever eaten. EVER. Surrounded by a lovely, cosy atmosphere and decor. Even though I hadn't booked, they managed to fit me in (on my own) to dine. Thank goodness they did. If you are a Coeliac, in Leeds and want to treat yourself to a fine dining experience (and by that I don't mean small portions as they were definitely ample) with beautiful food- this is your place. Wow.

Having been diagnosed with coeliac disease I had to try this place out…. Well I am so glad I did. I had the fish and chips… what a great portion and the batter was so crispy. The dessert I had a sticky toffee pudding and you wouldn’t even be able to tell if it was gluten free or not. Infact this was the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had! I will definitely be back to try more things on the menu! Highly recommended whether you’re gluten free or not!

Lovely food, very tasty. Great choice on the menu, all 100% gluten free. Good service, we ate at 4.30 pre concert, so not many people in to start with, but started filling up after an hour. Would recommend 100%.

Such a delight to be able to choose anything from the menu as am allergic to wheat and find eating out a challenge. My dining partner is not gf but also thoroughly enjoyed all the food. Honestly the best meal I have had in ages. Portions generous too.

Great variety of food and drinks all gluten free. Starters, mains and dessert menus were all unique. Service was fantastic. Enjoyed the quirky decor.

My mother is gluten allergic and spends any time with us moaning about "not being able to eat anything" when we go out. I hoped that I had done a good job by researching The Oxford Place. We were here mid week and had a great meal. I was given the lamb (despite having ordered the fish) but was not bothered about it as it was lovely, so didn't want to point it out at the time. Prices are reasonable and the surroundings are quirky and inviting. Good service. The only way that it could have been better was for my mother to have paid for it instead of expecting me to. But there we go. Whether you are gluten intolerant on any level or not, it has lovely food and was a delight to visit.

A real gem of a restaurant. a fully gluten free restaurant with amazing selection on menu. Lovely decor and ambiance. We throughly enjoyed our meal and was great to not have to think about asking for GF options. Could do with mixing up the music though as same track played repeatedly. But that aside it’s a wonderful restaurant

I had battered fish and chips with battered onion rings for the first time EVER. I have Coeliac so I was truly in awe! 🤯 Sticky toffee pudding is amazing as well. Portions are huge!!! Will be coming again!!!

The best GF restaurant we know of..

After three weeks of vigilance post diagnosis, the first place my partner has inadvertently consumed gluten was at the self proclaimed "100% gluten free restaurant". The food, to be clear was not only safe, but delicious. We really enjoyed our dishes. There's a very canny mind behind the menu which walks a line between novel flavour combinations and elevated classics. It was a real relief to relax and know we were in a safe environment, and my partner ordered one of three beers on the menu. There were no gluten free labels on the drinks, but why would there be, there were none on the food either. The presumption that the beer was gluten free seemed safe in an environment that boastfully caters to coeliac clientele. Gluten free beers are readily available in most good bars these days anyhow. Halfway through our mains my partner began to feel unwell. When we spoke the woman who'd been serving us, I was shocked. "We're sorry, no the drinks are not gluten free. You'll know for next time." As my partner slowly broke into tears in front of me at the table, the notion of a return visit was very presumptive. Mistakes happen. But to not label gluten filled products in an environment you've advertised as 100% safe is irresponsible. I've worked for too long within hospitality to ask and hector staff for money off a bill or to solicit favours. But we were offered no comfort, no offer to redress the damage. Not even the beer off the bill. It was awkward, and rather callous. We've had to cancel the rest of our plans, as we were in route to a concert. Very disappointed. Please do better.

My friend had the duck and I had the North sea black bream. The sauce that came with the bream was stunning, the flavours were incredible and I'm still thinking about it a day later! Looking forwards to taking my husband here next time we go out.

Fantastic food and service. Food was superb. Everything was freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We were a group of five and all loved the food.

Husband has coeliac disease and I am vegan so it is very difficult to find places to eat but the Oxford place is our favourite! My husband has so much choice which is rare and the vegan options are also good. Food is amazing and staff are very friendly.

My friend and I tried this place out last night, neither of us are celiac albeit I’ve just discovered I have a bit of a wheat intolerance so I’m trying to cut down. The food was amazing, probably the best chicken pie and onion rings I’ve had for a long time. As someone who can eat freely and has eaten out extensively, you’d have never known it was even gluten free. Every course was tasty, generous, beautiful food. I actually couldn’t finish my food as the portion was large, but was able to take what was left home. The restaurant itself is cute, nicely decorated and relaxing. Service was quick and friendly and thoughtful. It worked out at £50 ish each for three courses each, a side and two drinks, so felt very good value. We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful meal and it was so lovely for our coeliac daughter to be able to choose her food without fear of contamination. All our meals were delicious and wonderfully presented. So glad we found it and we will definitely be back!

A warm friendly welcome, superb food and service

We found this place strange all round. The food was tasty, although my pie was quite salty. The atmosphere was weird, and the service was average. The guy was about but not attentive,it all felt very awkward. Onion rings were worth a purchase but I thought it was over priced compared to other places we have been in Leeds with better quality food.

Has been visiting for 2nd time now, always tasty, always happy and full🙂

We had a wonderful time. Even the gluten eater amongst us was very impressed by the thin yet crispy batter on the fish. Everything was perfectly cooked and despite feeling very full we all had dessert. The sticky toffee pudding and the tiramisu were both amazing. Very friendly staff and would highly recommend :)

Wow. OMG I’m so happy!!!! As a coeliac it’s a nightmare eating out. But not anymore….gorgeous environment, brilliant host, and the food….yum yum yum and no belly issues. I’m in heaven.

At last a 100% Gluten Free restaurant. No scrutinising menus anymore, being able to choose a meal from a selection of options is so refreshing. We will definitely be back, as will all my celiac friends 🧡 The food is delicious, the staff very friendly, and a lovely cosy setting.

INCREDIBLE GLUTEN FREE FOOD! Coeliac friendly (dedicated gluten free). Found on the Found Me Gluten Free app, my partner is coeliac, I can eat gluten. We had the fish n chips and the chicken bacon and mushroom pie. This was the BEST chicken pie I have ever eaten, period. The fish was also incredible. I haven't stopped talking about it since I've been. Recommended it to a few coworkers already. Service was great as well. I will definitely be back!

Great for those who have a gluten allergy and/or celiac; they also have vegan and dairy free options. The setting is intimate with a few tables on the ground floor and the floor above, whilst the service is attentive, prompt and friendly.

Been before but absolutely stunning food again. Nothing is too much trouble. They accommodated us changing what we wanted with Xmas pudding too. Love the place.

Amazing. The food, atmosphere and service were all impeccable. We had a great time and what a joy to not have to fret about gluten and cross contamination etc. The non coeliacs in the group will all be back again regardless of whether we have a coeliac friend with us or not. Have a lovely and super cozy dinner at the restaurant. Love it, the food, the vibe are just perfect. It doesn’t stand out on the street at all, I guess that’s why there’s not so many people visiting, but I like that modesty, keep the restaurant hidden like a little precious gem :)

As someone who cannot eat gluten, it was so lovely to go somewhere where all the items on the menu were gluten free! The quality, the quantity and the presentation of the food were fantastic. Cosy atmosphere and friendly waiting staff. 100% would go back. Make sure you book though, because it was packed!

We came for lunch and it was dead, we were the only customers. Asked for the chicken pie but they'd not yet cooked it. So why is it on the menu? No atmosphere even at Christmas time. Had the cheek to whack on a service charge.

Visited for the first time on Friday evening. Neither of us are coeliac but I am vegetarian and, as the reviews looked good and veggie options seemed nice, we decided to go. It is a lovely little restaurant, good service and the food was very tasty. We had rabbit and duck terrine, spinach pancake, lamb and gnocchi. We also decided it'd be rude not to have the tiramisu chocolate tart for dessert! Only one 'complaint' if there is one is the tables were a little low. Not a massive issue for most people but, when you're 6'8" they are a little in the tiny side!

Atmosphere so welcoming, staff really well trained and cannot do enough. Scallops were amazing, Lamb had such a gorgeous combination of flavours and a tiramisu even my Italian aunt would adore. Could not be better.

I went for dinner with my wife and we both had an excellent meal. The service was good and the food delicious and well presented. I thought that the prices charged for what we enjoyed were reasonable. Only one complaint I didnt find the furniture confortable and in particular being tall found it difficult to get my legs under the table due to the wrought ironwork. I get what the owners are trying to do in ters of style but please have a think about customer comfort

I have just had the most wonderful and relaxing dining experience in my first ever gluten free restaurant in Leeds. The Oxford Place by the Town Hall was fabulous..no worries about sharing with my husband or dissecting the menu and even the beers were GF. Highly recommended.
