We had passed by many times but decided to call in for an early evening meal. The Good - the menu is based on what is served in the adjoining Fish & Chip shop. The Bad - service was slow and the food was excessively greasy. The Ugly - the seats are uncomfortable, blue & pink flourescent lighting is a bit nausea inducing and the background music was not in the background but almost killed conversation. An interesting experience but I doubt we'll repeat it.

Top quality food in a traditional American 1950s style diner. Friendly staff. Fish and chips fried to order and competitive prices. All in a beautiful English marketplace. What a surprise!

62A Long Street, Thirsk YO7 1AU EnglandAll ways a friendly welcome. Found this fish and chip shop one day whilst traveling through Thirsk. Fish and chips so good we occasionally have had a ride out from Filey to Thirsk to have some and will continue to do so.

19 The Wilson Building ANice couple running a good looking restaurant. Ordered food, one of the meals had a “cooked fly” on a chip. Meal was taken away and returned with new chips! No offer of a full replace, simply took off the chips and added new chips (probably fried in the same oil as the fly)!The fish was nice but a bit watery. It looks like it was not fully defrosted before drying. The price of a Diet Coke was removed from our bill, the fly meal was still charged.

27 WestgateAbsolutely fabulous reception from the staff. Quintessentially traditional chippy bringing out the best of Thirsk. Made what was already and deliciously tasty fish & chips even tastier. Highly Recommended
