We had just Coffee, unfortunately was very busy, on Saturday noon is hard to find a table, when we did, unfortunately was dirty, I guess not enough staff. Coffee was good though 👌

Called in for brunch after a walk up to the French Memorial and back. Excellent food and dog friendly. Nice choice of food. The mushroom pancakes were particularly delicious. We would recommend a visit. No table reservations available and we got the last table which we were very relieved at. It isn’t licensed but our hot drinks were very nice.

Been wanting to try for a while and decided to go today as I had a hospital appointment! Wow we all had hot rolls and sourdough with delicious coffees. Rolls made to perfection and my friend also had a delicious empire biscuit! Will definitely come back here! So nice!

Very family friendly place, great service and the most delicious food in and around Glasgow area. Enjoyed the variety of food and the freshness of our ordered meal. Definitely coming back another time!!!

Something truly different, you won’t find another menu like this locally, with unique dishes and a wide and varied selection. Great friendly service, nice buzz about the place. Reasonable lunch portions and the food is outstanding. Recommended for breakfast / brunch / lunch.

We found this fantastic eatery eighteen months ago and have been in every week since. Sometimes twice a week. The food is always exceptional and on each visit we are asked how our food and drinks are. We have never been disappointed. We take family and friends there. Recommend it to everyone. Buy vouchers as gifts for friends and family to try. All of whom love it as much as we do. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't rave about this eatery.

I'd been looking forward to going to this establishment with a family member, not least because of the building's long history in Gourock and the rave reviews I'd heard from friends. The experience, however, was a letdown. To drink, I ordered an extra hot latte. When it arrived, it was tepid and bordering on cold. I asked to have it warmed up, and in response got the excuse which irritates me more than any other in a hospitality setting: "We can't, if we do that, we'll scorch the milk!" These words came from none other than the owner of the establishment. It seems that, in her eyes, what the customer actually wants counts for nothing. She further tried to evade responsibility for making the coffee as asked for by saying that the barista was at risk of scalding her hand if she made the milk any hotter. Health and safety obviously is paramount, but that's the first time in two decades or so I've heard that excuse for not being able to provide extra hot coffee. At the very least, the coffee should have arrived at the table a lot warmer than what it did. The owner reluctantly had the barista warm the coffee, but when it arrived back at the table, I couldn't make out any difference. The food I ordered, a bacon and potato scone roll, was barely any better. The bacon was a tad on the greasy side, and the inside of the roll came slathered in butter. (Okay, the onus was on me to request a dry roll, but the serving staff should also take the time to ask customers how they prefer their roll.) My dining partner was slightly more complementary about her breakfast, but only just. She ordered an Americano, precisely to avoid the problem that I encountered with my latte, and said that it was an acceptable temperature and tasted okay. She wasn't quite so enthusiastic about her scrambled eggs, however, commenting that they were a bit rubbery and lacking in texture. All of the above might not have been quite so galling if it hadn't been for the price -- effectively 18 pounds for two cups of coffee, a roll, and scrambled eggs on sourdough toast. It's rather unfortunate that our experience was so negative. This eatery is in a prime location, and the building itself steeped in local history, having been around for nearly 200 years. With some tweaks to the coffee and food, as well as a willingness to listen to customers, it has the potential to become one of the area's top eateries.

Lovely little café with a good atmosphere. I stopped for somewhere to relax and read a book for a bit by myself, ordered a latte & rocky road both of which were delicious! Everything was reasonably priced & the lady was very friendly. I'd definitely come here again!

Exceptional and unexpected. I was intending to turn around the car when I pulled into their small car park and then saw the cafe and thought I’d give it a go. Decor simple but upmarket, warm welcome and exceptional quality food Light meals with an Eastern European slant. I will make a great effort to come back here.

Always greeted with the warmest of welcomes. Food and coffee are consistently excellent and of superb quality . Service is exceptionally attentive and friendly. Tastefully decorated.

Warm, friendly and cozy always welcoming. Great food, coffee and cakes. We came as customers and stayed to make friends with staff Luda Marina Oxana and Galina who make us feel special every vist with time for a chat and sharing news. Highly recommended. Tasteful seasonal decor

A really rather good brunch and so unbelievably friendly.

The lady in charge, Liuda, is obviously proud of her cuisine which consists of breakfasts, brunches, teas, coffees, cakes and scones. She has actually met celebrity chefs like John Torode, The Hairy Bikers and Mary Berry and has tweaked her scone recipe which taste fantastic! The standards are high everything is cooked to order. Will be back!

Been meaning to visit since it opened and finally got around to it today. It did not disappoint! Menu isn't extensive however there is still plenty to choose from. I had the avocado toast which was more than I could have hoped for. Delicious and very filling....so much so I didn't have room for one of their fabulous looking cakes. Lovely surroundings and staff. Highly recommend a visit, I'll definitely be back.

First time today, very nice interior, 2 very good quality latte's. One excellent full Scottish breakfast and one pancakes with yogurt and berries. Excellent service, very highly recommend!! Can't wait to go again!!

What can i say about this cafe / restaurant?! I saw a facebook post of a big breakfast plate £9.95 it looked amazing, thought let's try it once if its no good nothing much lost. Guys, Girls and all my friends you need to get this place saved in Google maps best càfe food ever!!! Seriously Great clean presentation all freshly cooked no grease, eggs as you like all with a smile, sweet espresso, water with your meal again with a smile. Owner out front happy and proud but humble enough to bring her wee chef out to receive the well earned gratitude of this hungry chef on his day off. Menu is simple and short but plenty variety and all fairly priced, what you receive is worth more. If you want a greasy spoon look elsewhere this place is a gem and real diamond that did that unicorn of things by meeting and exceeding my expectations.

A great new find in the heart of Gourock. We arrived at lunchtime. It was packed. I enjoyed the sweet peaches dish with rosemary and ricotta. The smoked salmon and eggs was fantastic too. The customer service was great too- very attentive waitstaff. We will return to this restaurant! We returned to have the pancakes. They were fantastic!

Wow! An incredible brunch here. Found on route back home and so glad we stopped here. I had the Potato hash which was unbelievably tasty and great portion size too, Mum had the full breakfast which had lovely bacon and potato cake too. The staff were so friendly and welcoming also and they played happy music which is always a bonus! Would highly recommend if passing by. Thanks again!

Came for lunch one Sunday with my mum and toddler. Cafe was busy and obviously a popular lunch spot. Our food was lovely and we followed up with scones, that did not disappoint! Would recommend.

Went for brunch today for the first time at 1830 with my sister. We were blown away with the quality of the food. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Great first impressions and we will definitely be back!

I'd heard that the 1830 was good and a breakfast visit confirmed this. The potato has was particularly impressive and the service was friendly. Yes, you'll pay a wee bit more than your average café fry-up. But it's definitely worth it.

Great little place for breakfast or lunch, I can personally recommend the potato hash. They also have daily specials which are usually very good. A very different menu from the local offerings, so it stands out from it competition. The staff are also very helpful and polite, weve been a few times and never had a bad experience, we've even dragged others along. Cant recommended this place enough, well worth a visit.

After being recommended to us we went for breakfast. We're definitely not disappointed, both had scrambled eggs with salmon on BUTTERED sourdough toast. The plates were warmed too. Delightful place, friendly polite smiley staff. We will be back SOON

Went here for lunch today and it was well tasty! I had the Brunch Stack and my partner had the vegetarian Avocado, Poached Eggs on Toast. Arrived at 12:50 and had to wait for a table but when we left there were a few tables spare, so midday must have been their peak. Would definitely recommend.

Club sandwich 🥪 was great, very filling. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed my brunch. I had the potato hash and it was delicious, there was so much flavour… probably the best I have tried since coming back! After wards I had the scone which came with a perfect amount of clotted cream and jam, fabulous!...

First time I haven't winced at the bitterness levels of a cappuccino. So, that was a reassuring start. I had scrambled egg on sourdough toast, hubby had the brunch stack. They both arrived together, and both were piping hot, which isn't always the case in most eateries. Mine was perfect, all cooked well, lovely little garnish of chives, bread crispy and fresh. I hardly ever clear a plate, but this time, I did. Staff really polite and friendly, service with a smile. This little place has the atmosphere of a friendly, family run cafe, with the quality of an expensive restaurant. Highly recommended, well done 1830.

Absolutely fantastic food, great service and easy to park close by! We can particularly recommend the Club Sandwich and the Brunch Stack. Great quality coffee too and the cakes are wonderful.
