Very good food well presented and large portion size

Was down from scotland staying close by and decided to come along for dinner and a few drinks. The restaurant is very nice inside, the staff were all very friendly and the food was great. Moved into the lounge area of the hotel after for a final drink before leaving which was a good comfortable space.

Table of 9 for dinner celebrating a family members 80th birthday party. Food was incredible, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Absolutely nothing to complain about. We're not local, but this would be a staple if we lived in the area. Definitely not one to miss! I definitely recommend the Chicken Milanese - was absolutely to die for!

Absolutely fantastic and interesting place to stay. Beds were very comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for you. What a find!!!

The 1189 restaurant was one of the best things about staying at Walworth Castle - the food was top quality, some of the best I’ve ever had when staying at a hotel. Staff really helpful and friendly too

We have been a few times now and the food has always been excellent. Staff are attentive, and three courses cost around £30 each including a soft drink. Portions are decent and lots of flavour.

Has nice food and staff members pleasant. Reservation system for arriving guests is not effective because message does not seem to be passed to team.

We stayed here for a night and decided to eat in the onsite restaurant rather than going back out. The menu has something for everyone and the choices we made were great. The braised beef stew and the pan fried chicken breast came well presented and the portion sizes plentiful. We even had room for dessert!!! We also had breakfast the next day and had no complaints again.

My stay at the hotel was in two parts. The room and general comfort were great. The price was fair. Staff are lovely. But, the food! STODGE, STODGE and more STODGE. No fresh fruit as a breakfast salad, yogurts full of sugar and STODGE. The evening portions were huge but devoid of any finesse. Piles of chips. Yorkshires reheated from the lunch menu. An unchanging menu. Boring and poor. It woukd put me off a revisit. Jeff Atkinson

We had dinner for 4 in the restaurant . The portions were an excellent size. I loved the seafood linguine not too much pasta but plenty of fish… delicious. Would definitely eat here again.

Our second stay here . Food was excellent ..couldn't ask for more ..,staff very friendly and room was perfect, spacious, clean, and bed was comfortable will always come back

Not what we expected and menu was limited but we enjoyed what we had. Breakfast much better on the second morning

Excellent service, and great space and facilities. I am not sure if I just ordered the wrong things, but was a little disappointed by all three course. The stack of black pudding and hash browns was a peculiarly breakfasty start to the meal. The roast pork was dry. The various sides with the roast were all very salty. The crème Brûlée consistency was odd. The crumble was good though.

A full English pretty much as you'd expect, with juice/toast/cereal/yoghurt on the buffet, but the black pudding was particularly good. :-)

What a great night. Excellent quality food, beautifully presented. Lovely, safe environment. Superb service. We suggested this restaurant to our friends & they were very impressed. We hadn’t been for a while, but we’ll be back very soon. Thank you all very much.

Great service with some lovely food..staff were amazing..

All staff were very helpful, poloute and as professional as you would expect for such a great venue. Food good but could have been better! Steak a little over cooked, pastry on the pie was hard and the shortbread with the cremebrule was too hard.

Really well looked after and food was good.

Not a lot to say here other than our meal was excellent and served up by a very pleasant and attentive young lady. All in all, a very nice place to stay !

My wife and I ate here during our stay at Walworth Castle in October. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would recommend it to anyone.

Very tasty indeed. Far too much on each plate for me but very much a first world complaint... Prices were excellent. Well worth a visit and if you’re staying here don’t worry about finding somewhere else just go here.

Even though it was very busy we were shown to a table and we all had a great meal. Will definitely be back. Plenty to choose from. The staff where very friendly & helpful.

Lovely hotel, great value four course Sunday lunch for £20 served in the restaurant. Staff efficient especially Jessica on reception.
