11 Brasserie @ No 11 in Edinburgh, City of

Twelve months ago this restaurant was totally wonderful with an exciting menu. It has lost its edge and some of the dishes really disappointed. Such a shame, had really looked forward to returning

We had the Scallops, then Venison and for dessert the Assiette of Chefs Desserts. All washed down with a nice Rosè. To end the meal a Double Expresso and as we are in Scotland an excellent Double Single Malt. A perfect end to a perfect meal.

That’s not the first time we’ve been here and it is constantly wonderful, always great food, service is exceptional from all the staff and chef should earn highest Michelin star awards for the things he cooks. No 11 is our go to place for our celebrations whether it is an anniversary or birthday. Many many thanks to all of you 🩷🩷🩷

Nice and calm atmosphere and the food was very good.

Another outstanding dining experience at No. 11. This is our 3rd visit and we are yet to find anything to fault. The quality of the food is fantastic and it is reasonably priced to accommodate most budgets. Faultless!

I was disappointed in the food, in general it lacked flavours. I had the salmon to start and had to ask what saussison meant. When it came it appeared to be basically salmon pate, the creme fraiche didn't have much taste (meant to have lime in it), the orange caviar had no taste, but the black caviar did. The dish needed more flavour and a wedge of lemon, also a better description on the menu. For the main I had the duck, the duck itself was great. The dish came with pea puree which I'm allergic too, so it was taken away and returned with carrot puree, thish had no flvour of carrot. The rosti wedge was dry, but I had a side of potatoes which with the duck was the best part of the dish. The red wine and goat chesse cream again had no flavour. Duck needs a strong sauce/jus. Overall I was disappointed in the food.

Calming dining room that’s comfortable with an excellent menu! The food very well prepared and presented.

This is not the first time we’ve been here and every time is absolutely outstanding! Food quality is on a par with Michelin star restaurants , place is intimate , classy and staff is just simply lovely. Massive compliments to the chef - you guys are the best and we’re coming back again 💛💛💛💛

Interesting food. While I liked mine, my opinion was not shared by my guests.

Nicely presented but lamb was chewy extra money for vegetables so quite expensive. Quiet and pleasant but nothing special. Staff were nice.

The starter and main courses were outstanding but the choc / hazelnut dessert was one of the worst desserts I’ve had. It just tasted bad. I didn’t want to say anything at the table as other customers may have heard. It did put a dampener on what up until then had been excellent food and service.

Very handy restaurant, as part of a small hotel. The staff were polite and attentive, and the food well presented, and cooked. A few unusual ideas, including Scallops with Mulled Wine foam and Cranberry...sounded odd, had to try. Enjoyed it! We had an early 5pm pre theatre dinner. It's only four minutes walk to the Edinburgh Playhouse. Would gladly go again.

The starters and main were absolutely lovely although the desserts were a not to the same standard.

This was the second year we have been to No 11 and the service and food was first class. There was nothing to fault. The waiter was very attentive and was very professional. We will be back again.

The food was excellent and the dining room was beautiful. Service was okay. Very quiet on a Wednesday evening, so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Despite that we were not rushed out and had a very enjoyable evening.

Everything was perfect, nice wine list good food. The only thing that can be improve is maybe the dessert list

Thank you to all the staff at No 11 for a lovely meal and stay for my mum's 80th birthday. You all made us feel very welcome and provided a great service.

From the moment we walked in we realised what a great choice we had made. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, staff so friendly and the food out of this world. Honestly couldn’t fault this place in any way and will definitely be back the next time we are in Edinburgh.

The food was exceptional. Beautifully presented and tasted amazing. This is Al a cart so makes it easy to enjoy 3 courses.

We had some of the best tasting and best prepared food on our holiday in Scotland here. Great ambience and service.

Food was over cooked, under seasoned and one starter was cold. Dishes Looked great, but taste disappointed. 100% forgettable.

The service was very disappointing. The person who served the table, brought out the bottle of wine we ordered, did the tasting and then neglected to pour wine for anyone. Wine service had to be done by ourselves the whole evening. We waited for quite a while before a food order was taken. Dirty plates weren’t being removed after our meal were done, and we had to ask for the table to bel cleared. The service in general was slow & non attentive, which is really unjustified for a restaurant that’s so small and not busy.

Great restaurant, wonderful food—-truly gourmet level.

I can see what the Chef is trying to achieve. His flavours and textures and presentation were refined but unfortunately and this is only my opinion, there wasn't enough choice and we struggled to find something that appealed. Four American diners had the same problem.

Our stay was wonderful the food was excellent only our room no10 was smaller than we expected and a bit warm, as there was little ventilation. Staff were excellent very welcoming friendly and helpful

The food at No11 was really lovely and was just as we had hoped given the reputation of the hotel. What made the visit special was the quality of the service. So personal, our waiter was just great, knowledgable and set just the right atmosphere for our meal. Thank you.

Sitting just off the theather district this is a really nice venue. Quite laid back and quiet, we were there mid week. The food was excellent, my wife and I both had the Saute Mushroom & Tarragon Cream with truffle foam as a starter, which was light and very tasty. My wife has Roast Rack Of Perthshire Lamb shepards pie, minted peas. This was actually the 3 slices of perfectly cooked lamb (very melt in in the mouth) with a portion of shepards pie (actually chopped lamb (not minced/ground) topped with mash), all round excellent I had the Confit Pork Belly hand dived scallops & Stornoway black pudding. The pork was beautiful and it is hard to go wrong with scallops in Scotland. For desert we shared, Raspberry & Hibiscus Baked Alaska with toasted hazelnuts and Chocolate Panna Cotta honeycomb, vanilla cream & ginger tuilea The Baked Alaska was adenturiously presented The Chocolate Panna Cotta was a very intense chocolate without too much sweetness. The best thing I can say is we will definately be back

Dined here for our anniversary. The environment was nice and relaxed and staff always on hand to help. Very fine dining, the prices were high however the standard of high quality produce made it well worth the price. The food was five stars everything cooked to perfection and the presentation was an art form.

The experience was well above expectation. The food and service were both great.

We had a late lunch at 1530 and were the only guests in the restaurant; the staff were pleasant and efficient. The waiter lacked knowledge of the menu and couldn’t answer questions about the food easily. The food was average/good to taste but very well presented.

Amazing food and service. We went for the pre-theatre deal which was the same as the A la Carte but with a discount - much better than other restaurants that provide a reduced pre-theatre menu choice. Will definitely be back.

Superb brasserie style food. No need to order sides (we did!). Very nice surprise to find such quality in a small hotel. We were not staying in the hotel and it was a shame the bar/restaurant was empty by 9pm but that did not detract from the excellent food we enjoyed.

Very welcoming, not a lot of space for a pre meal drink, but staff excellent. Cant really fault food, except I though the scallop starter with only one scallop was slightly disappointing, ( not the actual scallop which was delicious). Main Course was fantastic, and selection of vegetables was great, especially the orange infused carrots. Would definitely go back, although wold hope menu would change every so often as not a great selection.

We booked this for New Years Eve and booked the six course tasting menu and we are so glad we did. It was exceptional. Every single plate of food was perfection. The atmosphere was so beautiful and calming. The most perfect date night.

A really delicious meal however the atmosphere was a bit flat. The decor was was very cosy but a bit chilly due to the front door of the hotel and the dining room door being left open.

We enjoyed a beautifully presented pre theatre meal in lovely surroundings with attentive and friendly service. Food was delicious and we would highly recommend. Only 5 minutes from The Playhouse and handy also for Edinburgh shopping and sightseeing

I would highly recommend 11 Brasserie @ No 11, the food was amazing and looked as good as it tasted. The ambiance was perfect relaxed and romantic, service was second to none. The food was incredible it looks that good I didn’t want to touch it but it tasted amazing as well, we would highly recommend and will definitely return when we visit Edinburgh again.

I can't fault this restaurant. My boyfriend and I visited for a date night during our stay in Edinburgh and we ate the best food of our lives here. The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. We felt like criminals paying such a reasonable price for our meal and it beats every other fine dining experience we've had. The only bad thing is that it's so far away! This restaurant will be at the top of our list of things to do in all future visits to Edinburgh. Thanks for a wonderful date night!

We had the most wonderful time ! Chief Steven makes new with classics. Not only a surprise in the plate but also a real pleasure in the mouth. From the parsnip and apple soup to the turkey and the duck, not to mention the desserts, will never forget his amazing version of the black forest ! During our dinner, maitre d'hotel Enrico made sure we had the best experience and shared stories and recommandations with us to make our Edinburgh week-end special. Brasserie @ N°11 is a small size, cozy, classy and friendly place. A must go in the city !

Excellent food, well priced and super service and location

The service was on point. The scallop starter was good. The main monkfish was a bit of a joke. 3 tiny bites of fish on a bed of saffron risotto. Really should be sold as risotto.

I’m blown away! The restaurant was beautiful and quiet, a varied cocktail menu and a varied wine list, the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgable. Both of us enjoyed our meal, the presentation was stunning and the food was absolutely delicious. I would absolutely recommend for a unique dining experience.

This is a small venue with maybe 12 tables. It’s a nice intimate setting. We went on a Sunday night and the server was also the bartender, but he was excellent and very attentive. Only 4 other tables had guests. Wine selection is nice but not extravagant and reasonably priced. Food quality was excellent. A good date night.

A hidden gem. Outstanding food in an intimate environment. Best compliment I can pay is that it felt like we were in a country retreat rather than the middle of a city. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had three courses with coffee and found it excellent value. Look forward to visiting again in the near future.
