042 Restaurant and Bar in Waltham Forest

The place is far too small, they don't have a cloakroom so you don't have no where to put your coat, and its baking in there. Men in there are too hungry..Periodttttt!

I visited with my boyfriend and we were asked to sit at a table for four as we were told there is no table for two. Whilst we were eating, a member of staff came to ask if another customer could join us bearing in mind that the space is really tight and we would end up being at each others face and there were empty tables reserved for football. We said no and their countenance became unbearable, so we had to request our food be packed as takeaway and left. Not impressed at all with the customer service and will give them zero. Although, the food was good and rated at 6.

Good spot for good music, food....get the garnished beef and try the fish cos its lovely. Good parking space and a traco at the back for additional space.

Not sure if the cook/ chef was on leave but the food was no where near an acceptable standard. Very basic and bland is an understatement. The fried yam was like wood and tasteless and the yam porridge was chucks of hard yam mixed in undercooked palm oil leaving a raw after taste. Requested spinach and was given a sprinkling of spinach over the so called yam porridge. The fish stew was not fresh either. Over priced. I cannot recommend based on my experience. Unfortunately I can't give a Zero rating which would have been appropriate. Food was binned.

Took my son's girlfriend's parents who were visiting from France for a meal yesterday, 23/04/22, biggest regret and embarrassment imaginable. One member of staff whom I've never seen before was very rude, his customer service skills were non-existent. As it was six of us we asked if we could join the two tables he ordered us to sit at, a he said no. We advised we wished to sit together, he then took us to the other side of the restaurant and tried to squeeze us into a corner table with only five seats, when my husband asked for another chair, he was told he couldn't have one because he would be blocking the way. He then took us back to where we were before and said two of us at one table and four at the other table, we can't join the tables, so we should take it or leave it. All the while shouting and raising his voice, it was as if he was frustrated and we were there to beg for free food. Myself and my husband have been to this restaurant on many occasions and between the two of us we often spend upwards of £100 or more, with the six of us we would have easily spent a whole lot more. Although the ambience and atmosphere of this restaurant is not very appealing or welcoming, we have always put that aside because the food is usually good. The fact that I chose this place to bring my in-laws to for a meal only to be treated in such a way, was the biggest disappointment. This staff member did not appear to care about customers or the fact that he was the face representing the establishment, which is such a shame. The end result was that we left and headed off to 805, which to be honest is a much better, classier restaurant with amazing food and excellent 5-star service. This person did not seem to care that we were leaving or try to stop us. I will never, never visit this place again nor recommend any of my family, friends or acquaintances to, which I've done so often. Terrible Customer Service and shameless staff member with no clue how to treat customers. Thumbs down👎🏾

Delicious, you won’t regret it! My friends and I had the most amazing meal, then excellent music to work off the meal after.. decent dance area.. good vibes.

The worst place to go to have a nice time. Worst customer service. There is this new boy there, he is so rude

I've heard a lot about this restaurant, unfortunately on my first visit there the food was stale, the beer is flat smelly and dingy environment rude staffs nothing appealing about this places🤮

Been here a few times but always forget to leave a review, the croaker fish is for me the best thing on the menu and don’t think there is any other restaurant in London that does it better. The service is what let’s this place down, they could do with having more staff to serve customers.

Taken here by my Nigerian father in law on the promise of the best croaker fish. We drove 15 miles across london and I can promise you that we wasn’t disappointed. The fish was seasoned perfected, large portion size, good value for money! Jollof was perfect, as was the beef suya! The vibe inside is on point, music is fantastic and the people that work here are great too, especially Ouche and the guy that does the bbq’ing in the garden. We will definitely be back!

I frequently visit this restaurant with my husband. Their food is very tasty especially the grilled fish. They have club nights on Friday and Saturday. Very lovely atmosphere with great Nigerian music. You should see me on the dance floor 😂😂😂😜

I always have good time when I visit this restaurant and bar but on this occasion it was to celebrate a friend birthday. The food is too die for especially their grilled fish plus the music is always on point and the staffs aren't too bad.

Very lovely food. Though you have to wait a while before you get your orders . But won’t stop me from going again as the food is very delicious.

Really lovely atmosphere for relaxing eating and dancing. We had a lovely lovely time..the Dj was also so fab with the music selection

I’d rather say good things than bad about local businesses but I feel totally ripped off by O42. I have given them a chance to respond by PM but no joy. I ordered takeaway from a limited menu on Saturday night, which I thought seemed a bit pricy but the food going to the tables looked lovely so I expected it would be worth it. I was so wrong. I asked for chicken and rice and some fried plantain. When I got the dishes home I was so disappointed. A very small portion of undercooked plantain and a chicken and rice dish containing no rice and a few tiny pieces of chicken which were more bone than meat. I don’t mind that it was served on the bone but it did seem like most of the meat had been removed . I paid £15 for a dish of bland and watery vegetables. So disappointed.

Went there with a group of friends and we ordered a variety of food, but the main thing was the fish dish. It was cooked to perfection. We shared the fish which wasn't enough for me. We had great music and the atmosphere was really good. I enjoyed it so much I went back a few weeks later and ordered the fish dish just for myself.Thanks chef for the well cooked food.

Poor service and food average at best! Not a great menu, and expect a 2-3 hour wait for food!! Good for a late night drink, nothing else..

The food was very late though taste nice, nice music but the horrible experienced was we placed order around 20:30pm and it took almost 2:30hrs before we were served not that alone people that came after us were being served before us and we later realised only 3 people were serving about almost 60 . We were there to celebrate birthday but the service was very poor . Poor management.

Had so much reviews on this Nigerian restaurant and was very happy to try out last night. Ok some basic understanding of the the process would give a better and more tolerance in what might seem chaotic lol!.. . Food is usually delayed as the preparation is cumbersome but results very very worth waiting for.. you need to order at bar and collect your drinks at the bar. There was a bit of queuing as it was only one person collecting orders. The parking is also very challenging but you are able to park behind the place but very very restricted. The music is afrobeats fusion and very very very nice. It is also open till very late

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Your food will take 2hours! There’s no service, the staff ignore you and they don’t even feel sorry. The food is okay which makes the experience the WORST! They let the African experience down!!

Quite cool , went for the first time . Nice nice mix of African and Old school music . DJ was on point , I was impressed with the people at the restaurant - all matured .Good food - it did take a bit longer than expected ( hence the 4star rating ) but it was worth the wait - I had the fish and plantain - very tasty. Can't comment on the cleanliness but I wasn't concerned .

Rated poor because there is a limited food menu and you wait hours for your food even if you pre-order. No attention to details whatsoever - dirty plates left on the tables for hours. Just terrible. A restaurant isn't only about the food - the experience matters a great deal.
