Well the good first, food very nice The bad, we have eaten from here 3 times as new to the area so went by recommendation. First time lovely, big portions so decided one large portion between two would be sufficient going forward. Second time 100% great food, quick service and plenty of food. Third time same order very small portion. Contacted Barneys was told a small portion of chips with a large cod and chips was standard, then firstly why advertise it as large and secondly not true or if it is true then your portion sizes are inconsistent as the other two times the portions were as advertised, large, and for the price charged then large it should have been. I did call and was very polite, but not only was I told by the lady who answered, she had no comment I was also told I wasn’t telling the truth, no resolve offered, no apology offered and then to be told they couldn’t care less if we used them again or not! Just a little advise from a customer to the owner, in a very saturated market can you really afford to lose any customers purely down to extremely poor customer service? Maybe speak to your staff and suggest they take a different approach another time, an apology first, an appreciation of customer feedback to be taking on board and maybe a small gesture of next time you order we will see you right with an extra handful of chips maybe? For something that costs you about 50p and a smile it could keep you that customer but due to customer service alone we will not use you again which is a shame as your food is good. Reading reviews my comments are not the first to be said it seems so I would take the feedback occasionally and turn it to a positive

Always have a great experience with the team at Hodson's. Fish is always freshly cooked by Bob and served up by his helpful staff. Both the quality and quantity of the food is excellent and I highly recommend you pay a visit when in Huntingdon, you won't be disappointed.
