So, colleague and I went as was closest to hotel and initial reviews seemed mixed but overall 4 star. Place is bit odd. Normally an Indian Restaurant is tight for space, but this was large area and lots of tables around the edge and what seemed like 4 round tables in what should be a dancefloor. Colleague had to take a pic instantly as seemed so odd. So, we ordered usual poppadum's and chutneys. Poppadums were not warm so didn't seem fresh. No oil on them like they were new. Chutneys? So, one mint raita that was not looking good, onions mix tasted bit chemical and not good, mango chutney was extremely thin and didn't taste of much and the final dip was dark red with the consistency of water. No clue what that was, even after tasting it. I didn't even finish one poppadum (which is rare). Ordered for main a chilli chicken massala (4 chillies heat rating and their vindaloo is a 6 chilli). We also shared a boiled rice and 2 peshwari naans. Boiled rice was acceptable. My main was, apart from the chicken, nothing as described. A) chilli element didn't exist, the mango chutney was hotter. B) chicken was long strips and over cooked. C) tomatoes and sauce in general tasted like it came from a can, tasted very artificial and slightly chemical. Was more like a bad tomato salsa from a cost price supermarket. Naan (2 served together on one plate) was only thing that saved it a bit. Also, place is unlicenced which is not too obvious from the website. If you want even a vaguely semi-decent curry for a price of a good curry, avoid here. This was still £48 for 2 and only two cokes and some tap water. No starters and 2 poppadums each (mostly not eaten). Waiter was nice but there was only him out front. Food is no reflection on him, unless he was also chef, but I cannot verify this, though it was suggested.
