The best restaurants serving French food in Lewes South East

We had a great meal, the best one we’ve had here so far. There were lots of seafood dishes on the specials board, today, which hit the spot for us! The crab linguine with chilli and samphire was creamy and full of crab. The mussels were in a lovely sauce too. We were too full for dessert, but they looked great on other tables. The coffee was amazing. Our servers were charming and attentive, keen to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We’d intended to try out the new restaurant at the top of the street, and were a bit disappointed to find we should have booked. However, we were really lucky to be able to squeeze in at La Maison. We really recommend it.

Côte is an absolute gem! I celebrated my 40th birthday here and couldn’t have chosen a better spot. This was our 3rd visit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right balance of elegance and comfort. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made the experience extra special with their thoughtful service. The food was exceptional - every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted divine. The wine selection was also impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food, wonderful service, and a charming setting, Côte is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
