La Maison à La Carte Restaurant & Bar in Lewes

We had a great meal, the best one we’ve had here so far. There were lots of seafood dishes on the specials board, today, which hit the spot for us! The crab linguine with chilli and samphire was creamy and full of crab. The mussels were in a lovely sauce too. We were too full for dessert, but they looked great on other tables. The coffee was amazing. Our servers were charming and attentive, keen to make sure we enjoyed our meal. We’d intended to try out the new restaurant at the top of the street, and were a bit disappointed to find we should have booked. However, we were really lucky to be able to squeeze in at La Maison. We really recommend it.

Super evening with friends in this small, friendly restaurant. The goulash and duck dishes were amazing, followed by the local Holy Cow icecream! Not over expensive, a small menu done well.

I don’t often write reviews but I wanted to share my experience as it was so wonderful! The waitress who served us was absolutely lovely, and the food was incredible. It is also dog friendly on two tables near the window, so we’ve booked again for my birthday.

Been wanting to try this place after feedback both good and bad. Firstly it was very quiet but it was a Wednesday night, so the atmosphere was non existent. The waitress was sweet but kept constantly apologising, although there was a lot not available on the menu. She was probably embarrassed. We opted for a couple of small plates as starters and the burger deal. Food quality ok but nothing special and the deserts a particular let down. Black Forest mousse with raspberry instead of cherry and the ‘Holy Cow’ ice cream was tasteless and watery. Won’t return but glad we gave it a try.

Father's Day breakfast with my sons. Wonderful flavours in my Eggs Royale dish. The boys polished off their Full Englishes with no quibbles. Lovely decor, friendly staff.
