Everybody loved the generous portions

First time I have tried this Fish and Chip shop as my usual venue closes early on Saturday evenings. It was a rare treat and I was very pleased with the service. I ordered corned beef pasty and chips for my husband and a cod and chips for myself not exceptional fare I know but the simplest of food can go disastrously wrong. Difficult to spoil a pasty. So no stars for that! The fish was beautifully cooked, fresh buttery flakes and the batter was golden, thin and crispy. It just melted in your mouth. The chips were nicely cooked and seasoned with salt and the non brewed condiment that goes so well on fish and chips . Served piping hot in a box with a juicy wedge of lemon, what's not to like? This was heart warming, high cholesterol traditional fish and chips at its best best. Not cheap whole lot came to £14.50. Generously proportioned, I enjoy every mouthful. This place has won awards recently its spotlessly clean and yes I will go back again. Very good.
