The Royal Oak at Riley Green

Brindle and Hoghton, Chorley, <20£
07/12/2019: Went to the Royal Oak for lunch with a friend yesterday (6/12/19). As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing; the fires were lit, which added to the ambiance. As for the food! The food was ‘exceptional’! We both had the turkey dinner. Both presentation and! The staff were really friendly and not pushy. I would highly recommend eating here.
24/11/2019: Such a great place to get your Sunday lunch we love it here the food was outstanding for taste and quality and such friendly staff and the choices of drinks is fantastic not many places we would recommend so highly but this is the best

The Spinners at Cowling

Chorley East, Chorley, <20£
04/12/2019: We have been fans of The Spinners for a year or so and, can recall our first ever visit, browsing what was, a concise, excellently thought through menu, with specials over and above. I recall thinking, wow, prices are slightly up there for pub grub. Food arrived and everything immediately made sense!!! Beautifully cooked food of the highest quality. No wonder it was so busy!!
28/11/2019: We heard there was a new headchef so we decided to try. So glad we did the food was amazing! we came for tea and have since been for breakfast too, which was also fantastic! Great portion sizes and quick service! The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Would highly reccomend trying! We will be back very soon.

Dog and Partridge

Chisnall, Chorley
05/12/2019: We have driven past this place so often without realising that it was more than an ordinary pub with food. On a cold midweek evening, we arrived, without booking, to a warm welcome in a warm and comfortable dining area that was already busy. The menu is not as large as many, which was good to see, and the food looked and tasted as if it had been properly prepared and cooked. It was proper grown-up food presented well and tasting delicious. Service was helpful and faultless
17/11/2019: Me and my partner have been to this pub so many times since moving here 3.5 years ago. The food is second to non and the staff are all amazing.

The Hinds Head

Chisnall, Chorley
03/12/2019: Lovely atmosphere, lovely food, friendly staff. Out of the way a little but worth the drive. Highly recommend.
03/12/2019: Came here for Sunday lunch a couple of months ago following trip advisor ratings. Great service but a little slow. I went for the pie of the day which was meat and potato - slightly disappointed with the lack of potato and also how salty it was! In hindsight I should have brought this to their but because all other members of the party were enjoying their meal I decided not to.

Dresser's Arms

Wheelton and Withnell, Chorley
06/12/2019: We stayed at the Rooms at the Dressers on 24th/25th November 19.
01/12/2019: We went to the Dressers Arms for my wife's 50th with family, I have got to say the food and service was first class. A few of the party had never been before but have said they will definitely be returning customers. Everybody had a great night and Nicos and his staff were superb and very attentive with all the tables during what was an extremely busy night which just shows what a fantastic place to dine this is. Well done Dressers Arms.

The Black Horse

Heath Charnock and Rivington, Chorley
05/12/2019: Hidden away off the beaten track, this lovely, small old country pub is worth a visit. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty home cooked food. Also really enjoyed the Thursday night quiz.
24/11/2019: We visited here a couple of weeks ago as I’d not been for years and always remembered the food being lovely. On that occasion the food and service were very good but unfortunately today was a different story.

Lostock, Chorley, <20£
26/11/2019: There are approximately 22 Indian style restaurants in or around the Chorley area and this one should be at the top or near the top of your list. The restaurant itself is small by many standards seating approximately 30-40 covers. It is bright and clean, with the kitchen on view via a glass window to the whole restaurant. We had eaten here several years ago and to be honest weren’t impressed by the standard of food or service at the time.
21/11/2019: Over the past several years I've had quite a few bad meals at the Panshi so I would never return, but my friend who lives in Croston said it has new management and thinks it might be ok now. I am used to going to the Elephant just 2 miles away which I have eaten dozens of times never ever had a bad meal and would recommend. My friend and I thought we would give the Panshi another chance. I rang the Panshi earlier in the evening just to check out wether they served propper chip's not just the usual cheap french fries they used to serve, the person I spoked to said oh no we only serve home made chips not french fries, so I thought the meal would be ok with home made chips. So we ordered our meal which unfortunately served the cheapest

The Plough

Euxton North, Chorley, 20-30£
02/12/2019: We have visited this pub frequently for just drinks and food, and we enjoy both very much. You get extremely good portions and we quite often get the smaller option as it's more than adequate, tasty and excellent food. All of the staff are lovely and helpful and the pub is inviting and really clean.
02/12/2019: No food like this food anywhere yum yum. Check out or miss out simple .

The Wheatsheaf

Lostock, Chorley, <20£
02/12/2019: Visited as we stayed at near by. Food was excellent and service impeccable. Very friendly staff, great menu with a good choice and variety. Will definitely visit again.
01/12/2019: Very lucky to get a table just after 4.30 as the village centre was chocker. Just had a main course braised beef, my son had the lamb. Absolutely brilliant, great taste and a huge portion, fine cask ales to complement the meal. I highly recommend the Wheatsheaf if either a Croston resident or just passing through, service great and food outstanding.

The Old Stables Vintage Tea Shop

Chorley North West, Chorley
01/12/2019: Blink and you could miss this little hidden oasis. It lies at the end of terraced houses, if walking from Market Street, or at the bottom of the steps leading from West Street car park. Take either of these routes and you won’t be disappointed. A good choice of food with generous portions or for those with lighter appetites why not try soup and half a sandwich for around £7.50. The soup I had was chick broth. A hearty bowlful of deliciousness with great chunks of chicken in a good thick liquid supplemented by big pieces of veg. Yummy, and just right for co,d wintery days. The accompanying sandwich might only be a half but with a packed filling and garnish you’d be hard pressed not to be full. A variety of cakes and scones are on offer with tea served in vintage cup and saucer. Staff great. Give it a try!
20/10/2019: Some lovely sandwiches and soup. The place has nice staff with prompt and efficient service. The cake could be better, especially those awful carrots they put on carrot cake! A good way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Thyme & Plaice

Coppull, Chorley
05/10/2019: What a fantastic meal we had last evening at this very special venue. Truly excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be returning very soon.
02/09/2019: It's been a number of years since we last visited and yet again, it surpassed expectations.

Little hong kong

Wheelton and Withnell, Chorley
20/11/2019: We come here at least once a month to either dine in or have a takeaway. Great staff, nothing is too much trouble.
14/11/2019: We enjoyed a fine meal of varied chinese dishes accompanied by a bottle of their excellent Pino Grigio. The whole experience was very enjoyable and we shall continue to visit on a regular basis.

The Golden Lion

Wheelton and Withnell, Chorley
20/11/2019: If you do not come in here every day do not expect a welcoming smile. Barmaid would rather flirt with men and talk about herself than serve. Which is a shame. Never eaten here. Do not fancy the menu at all.
11/11/2019: We popped in for an early Sunday lunch. There was a friendly welcome, well-kept Thwaites beer and then a very nice lunch. The Sunday roast was more than ample, as was the pie, though some with a big appetite might find the pie a little small. The food was all very tasty and the veg were not mushy. We had lots to talk about and papers to read, so we didn't mind the quite long wait for our meal. It just made for a very relaxing lunch. There's a good car park round the back.

The Cottage Tea Room

Wheelton and Withnell, Chorley
07/12/2019: Lovely tea room visit every other week.very friendly and fantastic food. Had the mincemeat cheesecake today how delicious it's a must try
16/10/2019: A visit for breakfast but couldn't resist the cakes as well.
