Chingford Green, Waltham Forest
09/07/2019: We took an old friend last Friday and had a splendid meal with the usual attentive service. well recommended to all.
24/06/2019: Three of us invaded this wonderful restaurant two Saturdays ago, and we weren't disappointed. It was a full house and the laughter and chat lended atmosphere to the setting. The decor remains unchanged: it has a traditional feel with prints on the walls. We were greeted with great warmth by Battista, the proprietor of this lovely establishment, and his team comprising of Chris, John, and Rodney. Despite being so busy, Battista and his staff still found the time to chat and share laughter with us. With an Alperol Spritz, concocted to perfection by Rodney, in hand we made our selection from quite a large and varied menu that would suit most palates. There was Parma ham and melon, and ribs for starters; they were all presented and prepared to perfection. There then followed Halle Berry seafood pasta, seabass with trimmings, and langoustines and trimmings; all were full of flavour and did make our palates sing for joy. This culinary perfection was accompanied by a lovely Italian white: a light and fruity Logano. The gluttonous debauchery didn't end there: the Dunking Special comprising Italian biscuits rebelliously dunked in a lovely dessert wine, a trio of ice cream, and a Bread and Butter Pudding with ice cream; all were very refreshing and delicious. We concluded this wanton greed with a cappuccino, Black Americano, lemon tea, Sambuca, Frangelico, plus a complimentary Limoncello. Grazie mille. If you want a civilised venue with great meals and classy dining, then come to L'Artista's, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the splendid dining experience, and our compliments to the chefs. Keep smiling. Ciao.

La Cafeteria

30/04/2020: What an amazing place!! Modern A real family run restaurant, a great menu and very reasonably priced. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was incredible! Would definitely recommend this place and will be calling in again next time we are down in Walthamstow

Highams Lounge

Hatch Lane, Waltham Forest
20/02/2020: Really friendly staff here and great value for money. The pizzas are delicious and so are the milkshakes!! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a filling meal. 💞

The Village Kitchen

Hoe Street, Waltham Forest, >100£
02/02/2020: Absolutely 5*. Mel and Billy were so incredibly friendly and welcoming to our group and my dog, offering her treats and water and lots of fuss. Fantastic service and really delicious food, lots of veggie options, we can’t wait to come back!
02/01/2020: Our table was ready on arrival.rather chaotic people arriving and being seated. £70 ahead rather disappointing no table cloth and paper napkins only!Seafood starter far to small no salad dressing and no bread or bread roll offered .Christmas dinner was average compared to the fabulous Sunday lunch this restaurant normally provides.Service was average even though it was busy but certainly not worth the 12.5% service charge added to our bill!!!Staff dressed in casual outfits no smart dress which distinguished them as staff working for this high class establishment.Seemed pretty obvious that this was the proprietors first Christmas lunchGreat shame the small things like table cloths ..napkins and cheap crackers had not been worked into the price per head better .Better luck next year !

Bru Coffee & Gelato

Hoe Street, Waltham Forest
27/02/2020: We ordered:-➡️ Brownie stack (Two waffles topped with chocolate sauce and brownie pieces with a side of chocolate gelato, flake & whipped cream)➡️ Nutella cookie dough (Warm cookie dough topped with fresh sliced strawberries, vanilla gelato & oodles of warm Nutella)➡️ Banoffee waffle pop (Waffle drizzled with a toffee sauce and layered with banana pieces paired with a scoop of white chocolate gelato)➡️ Sticky walnut cookie dough (A cookie dough base with crumbled walnuts and maple syrup finished off with chocolate sauce and more maple syrup)➡️ Chai latte with coconut milk➡️ Classic mojito iced refresher (A combination of mojito sorbet blended with mint - non alcoholic)➡️ Grinch hot chocolate (White hot chocolate with mint syrup, sprinkles & festive candy cane)-We absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered! My favs being the Banoffee waffle, Nutella cookie dough, grinch hot chocolate & the classic mojito The sticky walnut cookie dough was a tad too chocolatey for my liking but hey, you might love it
08/02/2020: After enjoying our supper at Chaiiwala, we walked to Bru Coffee and Gelato for a cheeky dessert. We enjoyed ice-creams here and nothing else. There were wonderful waffles and other glorious looking desserts in tall glasses and we could have been easily tempted. They have an excellent selection of gelatos either in a tub or in a cone. Peanut butter or pistachio? I ordered the former! There is a lovely ambience in this coffee shop, where you can either sit in the front or deep in the back of the shop which did look very inviting indeed. If we were staying longer and enjoying supper as well as dessert then we probably would have sat at the back. We will definitely come here again if we are climbing at Mile End.

Number 1 The Avenue

Hatch Lane, Waltham Forest
10/04/2020: WE DO NOT NOT HAVE A CONTRACT WITH DELIVEROO. Hope you are all well and we hope to see our friends and customers in the not too distant future. Best Wishes Jay and us all at No1
01/03/2020: Went here for a friends birthday.. food was ok although my friends had a chicken madras and sauce was very runny and my husband had a king prawn curry and prawns were very small .. I wouldn’t not go back but prefer my regular curry house in north chingford to this place

Bollywoods Chingford

Larkswood, Waltham Forest
10/03/2020: Great place to grab authentic Indian food. The food is delicious and priced well. The restaurant have both vegetarian and vegan options . The service was great and the staff was friendly. I was served by Ali, during my visit to this restaurant. he’s very kind and quiet accommodating. I was quite impressed with their service.
07/03/2020: I absolutely love this restaurant, I have been going here for more than 25 years and it is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. The decor is quite funky with the black chandeliers, and the 80's soul music. The staff led by Ali are very attentive, and friendly. The food is first class and always cooked perfectly. Try it, it is fantastic. Regards Paul & Jackie

Gokyuzu Walthamstow

High Street, Waltham Forest
19/04/2020: Had a home delivery and the meal was superb, although quite pricey. It was within the time we were given. It was beautifully presented in airline type plastic containers, even came with complementary bread and dips. Only problem was it was far too big.
03/04/2020: I've been here countless times. Service is always good, food never disappoints. Sure, it's not cheap, but you really get what you pay for. Portions are big enough, tasty! This is the best restaurant I've been to in London!

Eat 17

Hoe Street, Waltham Forest, <20£
08/03/2020: A birthday celebratory Roast. Lovely, lively and popular place. Good vibe, great food and reasonably priced. Very impressed.
06/03/2020: We ate 4 dishes - the worst was a bouillabaise with hake and mussels which was so accrid with smoking, and so overwhelmed with excess chorizo, that you could taste nothing but salty smoke. The Barnsley lamb chop was nice but the fat not rendered enough and the accompaniments uninteresting. Our desserts were good nursery food (bread and butter pudding, banana pudding) but undistinguished. Nice service and nice vibe ... but food overpriced for what it is.

Royal Oak Pub & Kitchen

Hale End and Highams Park, Waltham Forest
11/03/2020: The bottomless brunch is fab, could not recommend it enough. The food came out quick and was delicious. Kelly, our waitress, was absolutely wonderful! Will certainly be back!
09/03/2020: Lovely bottomless brunch with friends. Delicious food and amazing service from Kelly who made us feel welcome. Definitely going to come back to try the evening menu.

Trattoria La Ruga

Hoe Street, Waltham Forest
27/10/2019: Been coming here for years with my family for meals out or to celebrate something special. The staff are amazing and so helpful. The menus always change and is a great opportunity to try something new. Food is always excellent. A hidden gem in Walthamstow.
20/10/2019: La Ruga is very underrated IMHO. The food and service is not trying to be hip or part of the current burger / pizza. The staff simply serve traditional Mediterranean dishes with a quiet calm that is a pleasure to enjoy.wave

Grove Green, Waltham Forest
01/03/2020: Extremely bad service! The food was not that good. The dessert( I asked for a creme brulee), was disgusting. The bolo de bolacha was rancid, the main course was dry, and the gambas was so spicy my throat was hurting. It was really bad !!!!

Saffron Kitchen

Lea Bridge, Waltham Forest, >100£
17/04/2020: These lovely people gave us free food today at St Thomas hospital intensive care unit. Not only was it thrilling to get some solid food in the middle of a tiring day at work, it was absolutely delicious rice with lentil stew and chicken curry. Thank you so much! God bless you all! Much more appreciate this gesture than the random clapping on the streets.
11/04/2020: I’m surprised by the reviews on SK. This restaurant is almost always fully booked in the evening and many customers are like us who return again and again. SK is a bit on the expensive side but saying that the portion sizes are pretty generous and we often eat well when we are there and have enough to take home for a second meal too. Parking - yes behind the restaurant Family friendly - yes they even have closed rooms/booths that can be booked for groups of more than 6Payer room - yes!! Mocktails and desserts - pretty good variety Seating for large families - they opened up the back for us when we went with around 25 of us and so were very accommodating Ramadan - closed Alcohol - no My honest review is that it can take a while to get seated as they are so busy, but the management makes every effort to take people in as soon as they can according to the time they arrived and their group size. You don’t have to wait outside in the cold as they have a large front area and so you can wait there. You can make the most of the wait by grabbing a drink or an ice cream. Once seated the waiters are pretty attentive considering how large the place is. The food is always sizzling hot and delicious. Yes during busy times you can feel a bit like you are packed in a large hall with the rest of the world but then that’s your choice. If you want a quieter experience you can visit on a weekday Monday to Thursday close to the opening time of 5pm - 6pm and there’s never been any wait for us. Overall I think SK is a lovely restaurant with great food that perhaps is a bit on the expensive side and is more of a treat rather than a regular place to take the family to eat. Nevertheless it’s still worth visiting for special occasions.

Byrons Hamburgers

Lea Bridge, Waltham Forest
29/02/2020: These were tasty burgers, but a little on the expensive side for what you get. The service was great. Our poor waitress had someone leave without paying right before we got there.
