Great value. Freshly home cooked food. Not your regular Anglicised stuff. If this place were a restaurant it would be full. And 3 times the prices. So, go there, ask for a Peter special and eat well for about a tenner!

I fancied a change and had freshly cooked veggie pakoras with a crisp salad then a vegetable curry, chick pea rice, red lentils, black lentil curry and a garlic nan straight from the oven. Absolutely fresh as you like and excellent value 2 of us ate for under £10. Why nobody else has commented on this place beats me.

This family run curry café and kebab shop has a few tables and really really is worth a visit! Having lived in East London all my life I know just about every type of curry, originating from each and every corner of the globe and this place is fab! It is Pakistani, I am told but unlike the grills and pakoras Aqsa seems to specialise in more slowly cooked curries, family recipes. It's unlicensed and halal and I like the way their traditions are respected. They cook really tasty food and fresh dishes are prepared daily. Last time I had crisp onion and potato bhajis with salad to start and then Lamb curry, black chick pea curry and nan freshly baked to order in the tandoor. Even with a side veggie dish, bhindi I think and Keera (semolina) pudding and a drink the whole bill came to about a tenner! £10. That's 3 courses! Plus a drink! If you live nearby please go there and support this small family business. Say Peter, the psychotherapist, sent you and they will laugh and , who knows, maybe even give you a little extra! It I go there once a week for home-cooked traditiuon Pakistani dishes

Have been going to this place a long time but it seems to have changed of late. Food is excellent the best Thai food in the area. However service is very very slow and average they also pack the tables in tight. Heard someone on a table nearby complain about the time it took and the waiter said it was due to the volume of takeaway orders they receive which I kind of understand but clearly looking to maximise profit over providing an overall great experience which is a shame.
