27/05/2019: What a fantastic find. We went for lunch on Sunday. The food was amazing and plentiful. High chair for the baby. Vegan food for me. Food for our dog. Friendly, lovely staff. Worth a visit. We will Definitly return. We hope next time we we can sit in the garden.
26/05/2019: Great traditional pub and friendly staff. The Sunday roast didn’t disappointment. Be prepared for big portions, with all the trimmings. The sea bass fish cakes off the specials board were a big hit with my daughter. Very dog friendly.

John Bunyan Pub

Sandridge, St Albans, <20£
12/06/2019: Yet again I have been to the John Bunyan for a meal and I cannot say anything bad about it. Chicken sunburst was superb Faith the chef cooked it and presented it with flair tasty and quiet filling. The evening is entertaining with the Bar Steward doing his usual routine 5 stars as always..
10/06/2019: Me and my husband came here for the first time for lunch. Was greeted by a lovely friendly chap who served our drinks, we ordered our lunch was was absolutely delicious, that was served by lovely, friendly lady. Would definitely recommended. Well done to you all

Rose & Crown

Sandridge, St Albans
11/06/2019: Having wanted to visit the village for a long time I thought Sunday lunch would be the perfect time. I wish I’d done my research as the Sunday lunch here was so disappointing. Service with a smile was also absent! The meat was tepid, to say the least, with a drizzle of gravy. The potatoes were bland, veggies lazily chopped (meaning unevenly cooked and unappealing - and parsnips were inedible). The best parts were the Yorkie and cabbage. Good choice of gins and beer, and nice beer garden - which put me in a better mood, but we skipped pudding as didn’t want yet more disappointment. This could be such a great Sunday lunch destination, but alas, we won’t be returning. Sorry!
31/05/2019: I've recently moved to Sandridge and thought I would pop in for a drink and a bite to eat, I was greeted by two girls behind the bar. One of them Irish, she looked at me... didn't say anything as If I was just expected to order my drink "no hello, no nothing", I told her what I wanted she poured it and just asked for the money, again "no thankyou". Surely local pubs don't need arrogant rude bar staff behind the bar! Defintely won't be going back, let alone taking my friends over when they visit!

Saddlery cafe Osprey Home St Albans

Sandridge, St Albans, <20£
09/06/2019: Visit here often, lovely staff, simple but delicious menu and gorgeous setting. It’s a firm favourite and dog friendly!
31/05/2019: Met three friends at the quiet cafe Thursday afternoon. When we were asked if it was ok if she gave us one pot between two of us I said I would rather have one to myself as I like weak tea and my friend likes stronger. She looked down her nose and indicated that she was not expecting that answer! Normally they serve teas in pretty china tea pots but I got a very boring dumpy pottery one. After drinking our teas and eating the cake we sat chatting whislt waitng for another friend to arrive. There was hardly anyone there ... numerous empty seats and tables so there shouldn't have been a problem. Our friend arrived and we duly ordered another round of teas. Unbeknown to one of the snobby staff she was overheard talking/grumbling about our group and how we had been sitting there for ages without ordering anything. It was quite pathetic and we probably won't be going back again as they made you feel unwelcome.

Bengal Spice

Sandridge, St Albans
16/06/2019: Four of us were here on 15/6/19 & had a great evening. Wonderful food (best Indian meal in a long time), friendly staff & good atmosphere. The fact we can walk here is great. No need for a taxi! If you live in the Marshalswick/Jersey Farm area & not tried it yet then do! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Bengal Spice for a lovely evening & great food! We will be back soon
06/04/2019: We ordered a delivery last night and ordered a selection of dishes with our friends. We ordered online which was time consuming but this was our choice to receive a discount. The delivery was on time, food was hot and delicious! The foods were flavoursome and of good portions. We always order from our local Indian and our friends were also very complimentary of the food!

Jersey Farm

Sandridge, St Albans
01/06/2019: Used for the first time tonight and won’t be using again. Food was bland, colourless & Greasy. The sweet and sour sauce was the worst I’ve ever tasted. The portions were very large and value for money.
04/05/2019: Just finished our meal, was pleasantly surprised with the prompt service. The food was great value for money and quite delicious, with large servings. Only downside was that one of our meals had too much sauce, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu.

29/12/2017: I remember when this place was the place to be on a friday night after all the other pubs called time. Went back for a bite and a beer and I'm happy to say it hasn't lost any of it's unique "charm". Nice to see they modified the bathroom arrangements as well.
