The best restaurants serving Default food in Tadcaster West Selby Yorkshire and The Humber

If you haven't tired here you really must - our first time here and it really did not disappoint! All the staff were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. We had a full breakfast and a breakfast flatty both were excellent. One of the best breakfasts we have had. The vanilla iced latte was also delicious! Can't wait to come back and try the lunches and the cakes!

Stooped here today on my bike and wow, food amazing and excellent value for money, sat outside in the sun but indoor seating available. Fast service, very friendly, Will defo return!

Lovely old fashioned pub with a nice atmosphere, play area for kids and with lovely service. The Sunday dinner was nice but a little over priced for what it was and would have preferred a little more option with what we received.

Real nice food at a reasonable price

Magnificent cosy and unsoiled Sam Smith’s pub. Temporarily closed from July 2024 as landlord has taken over the Bay Horse in Tadcaster.

Straight off the bat - the dinner and breakfast was included in our room rate. If we actually had the pay the prices on the menu (£30 a main) then I'd probably have a dimmer view of the place. And certainly I wouldn't travel here and eat here if you aren't staying at the castle. But for a place to eat on a nice couples break at the castle it does the trick. The food is good, though not amazing. On breakfast, you order the cooked English Breakfasts items you want, and then you can select from a small continental buffet of cereals, yoghurt, croissants etc. Main issue was that the "vegetarian option" advertised on the menu was simply not ordering the bacon and sausages! Apparently they do usually have a vegetarian alternative.

Very disappointed! Haddock was grey and chips not freshly cooked. Looked like they'd been refried about 3 times. Not what we'd expect from a Yorkshire chippy
