This a wonderful wee cafe with a friendly welcome and a good, varied menu. We had the light breakfast and the vegetarian breakfast which were both lovely, followed by some bakewell tart and a small complimentary taster slice of their new Christmas brownie which was delicious. Place was very clean including the toilets. We look forward to visiting again when we are back down from Scotland. If you are local and have not yet visited please do as you wont be disappointed!

Been twice already and will definitely be coming back - food was very nice and staff very friendly. Russian salad is excellent!

What a hidden gem of a tea shop, quaint, vintage. The cheese board with a great selection of cheese to choose from accompanied by a good selection of chutneys and very well presented. Lovely atmosphere, very relaxed. Very welcoming staff. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend you visiting, you will not be disappointed.

Travelled for approximately 50 miles, and an hour's drive from home, for my first visit here. Fantastic menu, so much choice, great prices. Extremely efficient, and friendly, owner and staff. Call in if you're passing, you won't be disappointed.

Been tonight for the first time and we were absolutely blown away. Everything was superb, the service, the decor, the ambiance and the food was amazing. This place has raised the already high standards of restaurants in the town to a new level 👌

Visited 25th April with friend for two mini afternoon teas with cream about £12 each so £24 approx. It was chaos as new waitress with very little English trying to take order.. Another friend had now joined us for pot of tea and scone with butter/jam only as going out to dinner later. An older lady ended up taking our order. I had recently come out of hospital and later taken ill at cafe and in such pain had to leave before having intended doing so. I was in tears and being that it was a treat for my friends asked to settle bill which told by same lady was £37. I was in such pain that I did not realise it was too much so just said to round up to £40 to include tip. I realised the next day that I must have been charged for three mini afternoon teas as some £24 for 2 plus pot of tea and scone would not have made it £37. I rang the mobile no. on website on 26th April and left message but no call back so left two further messages last week but just ignored rather than calling back to apologise, admit over charge and put right by way of refund or possibly offered credit note to spend at future visit should I wish to return. I was clearly upset at cafe finding it difficult to manage food and taking cake with me but that ignored too and no way it could not have been noticed when settling bill with same person who eventually took our order. It seemed settling bill was the only interest. It had to be cancelled due to being taken ill but had met at Mirrie Dancer as only a couple of doors away from The Works for hair so taxi brought me across there and would take me home after hair after as recently broken vertebrae so unable to walk more than few steps. All very upsetting and disappointing.

Shop seemed ok, CASH ONLY though - weird in this day and age Sausage & Egg regular ordered. Made quickly Cheap chip shop sausage rewarmed on hot plate - not nice Bun - cheap and very light- no substance to it. Probs £1 for 50 buns at wholesaler Egg done perfectly. Would I go again or recommend - No to both

Called for a take out brunch before travelling back to the northeast. Same excellent quality, same friendly staff. 1 Bacon barmcake and 1 club sandwich later we were well fed and very happy we had called. Due to covid they have set up a table at the doorway with copy menus taped to it, and a bell to ring for service if no one in the shop. There were a couple of chairs outside to rest on while you waited or the friendly lass serving said we could go back to our car and she would give us a shout when ready.

My husband, my friend and I were all here in February and loved it. The stylish place, the Mediterranean food, the brilliant staff. Everything was perfect. We said we would definitely return when the weather was better so we could eat al fresco. Well you can't get much better than this week's glorious sunshine 😎 so we booked a table on the terrace, super confident it wasn't going to rain or even cloud over! A great evening spent with our lovely friend catching up over a couple of glasses of wine and wonderful food. I normally only eat low carb bread but for the owner's homemade heavenly bread I make an exception 😋 he bakes it fresh every day, it would have been rude to decline 😉 Highly recommended restaurant in a beautiful location 10/10 from us all. And we were treated to the perfect sunset on the way home.
