The best restaurants serving Default food in Hatfield Heath Uttlesford East of England

We visited last week for a festive afternoon tea as we do every Christmas. It was a lovely afternoon tea, great selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts as well as a savoury treat. Staff were helpful and friendly but could have been a bit more attentive with topping up tea. However was a grata afternoon tea and would recommend.

Rating as Kings. Food delivered cold, part of the order missing, and refused to return call to resolve. Won’t be going back.

Unexpectedly good! We were in Hatfield heath visiting family and suffering jet lag so went walking early. Came across this as they just opened. Very friendly staff and a warm welcome - ample portion size and of good quality. View onto heath if cars not parked directly in front. For the area very reasonably priced too.

Before I write the review I want to say we gave 3 different members of staff the opportunity to resolve our issues. Booked at least a month ago for afternoon tea. Once seated we received our pots if tea but waited 45 minutes for everything else. Sandwiches were not as described in menu, just cheese & pickle & ham! No offer of any extra required or a response to the menu query. Scones were ok but strawberry sponge very dry & small macaron chalky! Lemon custard thing came with no spoons! We were not asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else! The excuse being they were busy but everyone else appeared to receive their food in a timely manner! Very poor service and certainly not value for money!
