Before I write the review I want to say we gave 3 different members of staff the opportunity to resolve our issues. Booked at least a month ago for afternoon tea. Once seated we received our pots if tea but waited 45 minutes for everything else. Sandwiches were not as described in menu, just cheese & pickle & ham! No offer of any extra required or a response to the menu query. Scones were ok but strawberry sponge very dry & small macaron chalky! Lemon custard thing came with no spoons! We were not asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else! The excuse being they were busy but everyone else appeared to receive their food in a timely manner! Very poor service and certainly not value for money!

My wife and I occasionally meet to have lunch during her break (she's a teacher). Today we chose to eat here, as it's only 5 minutes from the school. We arrived and seated at around 12.25. There were only two other couples there and at least three staff. There was a good selection of food on the menu, my wife choosing a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich and I a halloumi toasted ciabatta. We waited a little while, then noticed one of the couples had to go up to the counter to ask them to take their order. After taking their order, the other couple had to remind the waitress that they were still waiting for the cream for their cream tea! She then took our order, at around 12.35. The pot of tea and vanilla milkshake arrived shortly. The milkshake was lovely and thick, but tasted like milk with vanilla ice cream mixed together. We then waited. And waited. By 1.05 we had to leave to get my wife back to work. I paid the £5.50 for the drinks and left - our order still wasn't ready. The issue we had was that they weren't at all busy and after 40 minutes we still did not have any food. It doesn't take half an hour to make two sandwiches, especially as they had three staff and only three tables to serve! I have eaten here before, and the food was very nice. However, don't expect to get a quick bite to eat here. We ended up grabbing a sandwich each at the nearby co-op, which were actually very nice!

Customer service was amazing as I got a cappuccino was a bit too sweet. The staff was really understanding with the feedback and they changed it straight away which I appreciated.
