Terrible service, staff argue with you when you request something that they usually don't do. Which I requested for a vegetarian option, or even any seaweed but nothing like this even in the chefs cupboards. They proceeded to serve me a full plate of fried onions, this couldn't have been more offensive.. I don't think these people have even been to China before. If you have any kind of standard, don't come here....

This is a take away only. They only take cash. It was busy but we had our food within 15 minutes. The food was lovely. The noodles in the chowmein were crispy and not soggy. We particularly enjoyed the chicken with pineapple. Servings were of a good size.

Unfortunately very big disappointment. Carry so spicy you burn your mouth, chicken on sticks hasn't been spicy in any other Chinese but these was very spicy .chicken in orange sauce are separate so the chicken is very dry and adding sauce is not making any better. Only thing was was good is sweet sour balls of chicken and spring rolls...paid 35 pound and very devastated. Unfortunately definitely not the place to order again

So, we decided to order a Chinese from New Ocean on West Street tonight… I honestly wish I’d opted for a slice of toast now! Order placed by phone, bit concerned that the lady on the phone didn’t think they did Fu Yung but once she found it, we seemed to be ok. I arrived to be given a sealed bag - no way to check without cutting the bag open so I decided to trust that like most take-aways, they could be relied upon to pack an order correctly. Turns out that was my second mistake - first mistake was choosing them in the first place! Got home, a 20 minute drive and found that we’d been given a chilli chicken thing instead of Fu Yung. So, I call them up to let them know the mistake only to be instructed to bring the chilli chicken thing back, the Fu Yung had also been returned so I could swap them over. Super hygienic- giving me food returned by some random customer. I explained this was a 40 minute round trip for me… she then said if I was prepared to pay £6 for delivery AND £6.30 for the chilli chicken thing (because the driver doesn’t collect, he only delivers) I can have the (now second hand) Fu Yung. I suggested that as this was the fault of the establishment, they should fund the delivery and send me a fresh Fu Yung. I suggested that waiving the £6 in order to avoid bad feedback online was probably money well spent… I was told in no uncertain terms that the owners would not do this and that I could post what I wanted, where I wanted because no one cares about reviews anyway. So, we ate the food we did have and here is our feedback: 🤮New Ocean Chicken balls - doughy, chewy and flavourless 🤢New Ocean Sweet & Sour Sauce - sugary, no sour, watery. Slight fizz… would not be surprised if this has been watered down with Orange Fanta. 😵New Ocean Chef’s Special Fried Rice - contained 2 x regular size prawns, one slice of chicken, one slice of beef (square) and was about 30% peas. Mini omelette on top was nice touch but I think it is just there to hide the lack of other ingredients. 😧New Ocean Spare Rib in Batter - nice, but very little meat on it and pretty greasy. 🫤New Ocean Weird Chilli Chicken Thing - flabby chicken, raw pepper, mushy carrot, sugary sauce and randomly… one piece of mini sweetcorn. 🫣Pancake Roll - even crisping these two up in the Ninja couldn’t save these. Rancid. We don’t eat many takeaways so it’s even more disappointing when we do and it’s this bad. In future we will stick to the fabulous Raj Palace for an Indian until we find a Chinese to replace Alberts. New Ocean is definitely off the list. Such a shame, I remember a lady with spiky grey hair who ran that place like a Swiss watch, she was friendly, smart and took no nonsense.
