Stumbled across this place before going to a gig as we wanted some food and drink. Service brilliant, food was outstanding and it had a really good atmosphere. Highly recommend. Definitely go back when visiting Manchester or going to a gig.

I called in here while waiting at the hospital, the staff were very friendly and polite. I ordered a pizza, which was quite frankly, Amazing, I’m not sure who the ladie was who was preparing the pizza, I think I was Michelle but could be wrong. She brought the pizza to the table and asked if I would want any additional food or sauce. The pizza was excellent. The beer was great (I’m no stranger to holts smooth) and it was exemplary. The ladie behind the bar was very attentive I think her mane was Sarah? She was very chatty. Polite to all the customers. Sarah came over mid meal to ask if everything was ok. I really felt like a local who had been drinking here for years. However this was my first visit. It certainly won’t be my last. Great service. Great food. And great beer. Well done to the team at the grafton arms.

100% recommend the Whitworth for its stunning cafe, beautiful galleries and excellent exhibitions. Set in a park, this place has it all. The glass walls and layout of the cafe really make you feel like you are eating outdoors. The exhibitions we saw were free to enter and brilliant (Women in Revolt and Malgorzata Mirga Tas). An added bonus was the Bobby Baker Edible Family mobile home outside - incredible to experience this recreated work - pure genius. Come for lunch and stay for the art. Or come for art and stay for some lunch. Either way it’s great. I will add that although we were here on a bank holiday weekend and the cafe was busy we only had to wait a five minutes for a table. Also there’s so many buses that will get you here.
