I’ve been drinking in places like this for longer than I care to admit, and I’ve got to say, today’s service left me scratching my head and nursing a dry throat for far too long. Now, don’t get me wrong, we were greeted warmly enough, lovely smiles, menus handed over quick as you like, and we were sat down nicely. But after that? Well, the wheels came off, didn’t they? Twenty minutes before they even thought to ask if we wanted a drink! A drink, mind you, not food. And fair play, we were happy enough chatting amongst ourselves for a bit. But when it hit the half-hour mark with no sign of anyone asking about food, we started to get a bit restless. Eventually, they took our order, and I’ll give credit where it’s due, the food itself was decent, and it came out in reasonable time considering there was a big Christmas do going on. But here’s the kicker, no one came back to check on us! No offer of a top-up, not even a nod in the direction of a coffee. So, off I trot to the bar, only to find the main blond lass happily nattering away. She’s pulling pints like it’s a game of give one, take one, ‘pint for you, pint for me.’ All very jovial, I’m sure, but when you’re stood there waiting, it wears thin fast. Took several rounds of that performance before I finally got served. We paid up and left, but I’ll tell you what, it’s a crying shame. I’m not one to moan about bar staff having a sneaky tipple—been around long enough to know it happens, but when the service is this slow and scatterbrained, you’ve got to wonder if they’re more focused on their own good time than yours. A pity, really, because it’s the kind of place that could shine with just a bit of attention to the basics.

Great pub. Great beer. Great pub. Only probably - young bar staff with a unwelcoming attitude. The visit was marred by the dismissive and unprofessional attitude of a young female bar staff member. Her unwelcoming demeanor and lack of courtesy created a negative atmosphere, leaving us feeling undervalued as paying customers. Such poor service is unacceptable, and I cannot recommend this establishment based on this experience.
