Been coming to West End Cafe for many years now and never been disappointed. The food is very tasty and very reasonably priced. The Cafe is very clean and good location, with some parking outside. The staff are always polite and helpful and nothing is too much for them. Thank you for being the best chippy in town. See you all soon. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Incredible service, makes you remember how excellent service can be, the food was delicious (I’d recommend the lasagne) and the wine was unforgettable! I will be returning again and again! Don’t be fooled by the slightly underwhelming exterior. A true gem!

Bought 2 fish and 1 chips for our lunch today. Fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned to our taste. I have the fish wrapped individually so the batter stays crisp and I can honestly say that master fryer has been providing the best fish and chips in Wales for over 30 years and the standard never drops, absolute perfection. Expensive meal these days but worth every penny

Fantastic welcome to be had in the restaurant very pleasant and welcoming. Very good seating not cramped good spacious restaurant. Choice of food was very good and remember if it’s not on the menu ask and they may be able to accommodate your request as everything is cooked fresh. Chopsticks and mandatory bowl are available as I always eat this particular kind of food this way personally I think it enhances the flavour. Will definitely be back.

The White Bear is a proper "local", which shines through in a lovely way ☺️ The amosphere is really great and great music! Carling is a nice pint and they have a nice selection of wines - albeit a bit over priced. The staff are lovely, friendly and welcoming but a little slow on service and keeping an eye on the bar. Food is very overpriced for what it is - Tikka Masala is £13.50. When I ordered, I asked if it was homemade and was told "I believe it is", which is why I ordered it. It isn't. It's a bought in sauce, the chicken was rubbery from re-heating, the microwave rice was clumpy and there was no mango chutney. When we get a rare chance to get out and treat ourselves, we'd like a meal that is better than we can cook at home, which is what we were hoping for. We didn't get that - given the prices, that's a shame. The White Bear is a great place for beer, music & socialising but not so good for food.
