Very friendly, delicious cakes and drinks, highly recommend a stop off here. Liked the cake so much bought one to bring home. Staff were so very kind to my young kids who were made to feel welcome. There’s a nice little church to stroll around next to it if you need to stretch your legs afterwards.

The most relaxing dining in the wonderful eclectic home of chef Kerry and front of house Paul. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented with delightful flavours. There is true passion in every dish with the added bonus of fresh grown produce from their garden. A must visit whenever in the area

An Edwardian brick wayside inn presented inside in modern "Olde Worlde" Style. As you walk in you feel you have found somewhere nice and as we "Old Uns" used to say "Posh." Pity some of the clientele do not dress up to it. T shirts and shorts spoil the "upmarket ambiance" the proprietor has tried to create. We had been here twice before and been thoroughly satisfied with everything. The room, the presentation, and the service were as before. We ordered Sunday roast which came quickly and looked lovely on arrival but when we started to eat it we found it only luke warm. Being hungry we persevered. BUT by the time we were half way through it was stone cold and we all pushed it to one side and left it. Why on earth do restaurants do this these days??? - present hot food that is only luke warm. I have had to complain time and again about this. It is a complete insult to the customer. Besides being a thorough waste of food, time and money. We complained to the waitress who was sympathetic but did nothing about it , asked us if we wanted sweets and went off. 5 minutes later a lady in black - presumably the head waiter/tress came and just stood by our table in silence and stared at us. No mention of our complaint. We just assumed she had come for our dessert order, which she did and off she went. The desserts came quickly and were delightful. It would not have hurt for for to say "I understand you have a complaint - Can I help?". Typical of staff today!! A very mixed performance but no different to many restaurant today - eating out in this country is a complete lottery. Especially when you have told parents and friends what a splendid place it is then have to spend all afternoon apologising. As I always shout at up and coming sportsmen and women on TV, to be a champion you have to be consistently good. One good match does not make a champion. You might as well try it but be prepared for failure. Remember if you try anywhere else it won't necessarily be any better. We will not be going back now. Too unpredictable.

My wife and I were staying in a B&B in Berriew which didn’t cook evening meals on a Sunday, so we decided to try this inn for our dinner. We arrived without reservations, but were quickly shown to a table by a very pleasant member of staff who immediately took our drinks order. The drinks arrived and we ordered our food soon after. It didn’t take long for the food to arrive, and it looked very well presented. My wife had lasagne, which she told me was hot and tasty, however my steak and ale pie with chips was not quite so. Again, my meal was hot, but the meat in the pie was very grisly, which was a shame as the pastry was excellent. The chips and beans with my meal were first class, so absolutely no problems with them. As we ate our meal the chef came out and asked if everything was okay with the food. I told him about the meat in the pie, to which he laughed and then walked away. Now, what’s the point in asking me about my meal if you are not going to take action when you receive such a comment? Anyway, we finished the meal and went up to the bar to pay, at which time we were asked again if all was okay. I told the member of staff at the bar about the meat and this time it had a totally different outcome, in that someone, whom I took to be the manager, became involved, and she showed concern about the fact that my meal had not been perfect. She also told me that she would be having words with the supplier about said pie. We ended the conversation coming to an amicable agreement of a goodwill gesture, so I’m more than happy with the outcome. If it had not have been for the issue with the pie then this meal would have been almost perfect, in that the staff were lovely, the restaurant was clean and in a good state of decoration, and the service was first rate. My only other comment would be that the prices were a tad dearer than around my home city of Leicester, but not unusual for a country inn.
