We booked 2 nights at the Campanile to attend an event at the SEC and have a special birthday few drinkies along the way. Hotel tired, basic and clean. Not too bad for the money and location. The restaurant however, could do with a happier and more customer focussed team. Not once did we see a smile, hear a greeting (apart from the girl at breakfast), feel any form of enthusiasm or even genuine apologetic gestures from any staff at all. It's the Boyzone weekend and yes, we are not idiots, we have worked in hospitality, bars and restaurants for many years so, do actually know what we are talking about, we get that it's busy and people need served and bookings need to be made but not once did anyone ask if we would like to make a reservation for a table to have some dinner (still hungry) for later on. All the guy said was, if you haven't reserved a table, "it's gonna be at least after 8 when you get anything to eat". No offer to take a note of our names for a table or a suggestion to maybe have a drink in the bar until a table is available or even a "sorry" for not being able to accommodate us. The 3 guys on duty look so fed up, unhappy and run off their feet it is almost embarrassing. Surely to goodness, a busy hotel constitutes a busy bar and restaurant. My words of advice would be to keep morale high, motivate and recruit people who are actually happy to work!!!! Very unimpressed. 😡👎

Utterly horrible. The place is understaffed; they had someone ensuring queues were proper one day, the next, no-one. Sick of the fact they allow other kids to skip like vultures or people who’ve starved themselves for a month and still serve them. At one point, it took me 30 minutes to get served when I was halfway in the line, where I originally. If you can’t even operate something as little as a cafe efficiently, don’t even bother operating it at all. Go to Agnews or (can’t believe I am recommending them) Grade-A.
