This is a brief review of my experience. It was Saturday 2nd November and my wife decided to have a spot of lunch at the Glendoick garden centre cafe. Upon arriving the queue was not too bad and the wait only 20 mins or so. My wife ordered the fish and chips and I ordered a cheeseburger. approx 20 mins later the food arrived. My cheese burger was the most rubbery disc of processed, well I don't know what, shall I politely say it was not edible. The fish on the other hand was fresh and quite palatable. The staff thanked me for bringing the matter to their attention. Upon arriving back home I felt most unwell.

Having driven past for years, thought we should finally give it a go. First problem was the female member of staff who doesn't look at you and won't let you finish a sentence. We had two bacon rolls and two coffees. The roll was pretty horrible. Dry roll, chewy fatty bits of bacon that looked like they had been sitting for hours. The whole thing was tasteless. The place itself needs a serious makeover on its decor too. Won't be back. What a shame, particularly since the place lays claim to do the best bacon rolls in the world. Really?

Over the past 10 years as I family we have being going to luxury lodges offered by Hoseasons, twice a year. We thought we would try another company who advertises (luxury) lodges, as the above seemed perfect, or what we thought was perfect until day of our arrival The lodge was facing the bistro, no outlook, No curtains in the lounge/kitchen area, no freezer, had to purchase fresh food every day (struggled for 4 adults never mind 6 adults) No dishwasher, cutlery dirty unclean we never used the utensils. Broken door pocket on fridge door taken out on arrival and put into cupboard, fridge dirty, oven tray disgusting we covered the trays with tinfoil before using. Dishes were mixture of part sets The sinks in the bathrooms were vanity sinks more suited for cloakroom as opposed to bathrooms, ensuite had no mirror above sink had to straddle toilet when shaving, no mirror in 2nd bedroom, could be doing with dresser chair in both bedrooms although with mirrors. The bistro was not open to guests staying at the resort, we were not notified of this in advance Workmen using machinery on site starting very early, again we were not advised of this WIFI - we had some work to carry out online during our stay and WIFI very slow or nonexistent depending on where you were positioned in the lodge - advert said WIFI available. Vehicles not adhering to 10mph mostly staff Good point - beds were comfortable Restricted free view tv channels Bistro was not open for the 5 days we were there. Only place to eat on-site was a takeaway snack van, which closed at 6pm. Very disappointed Carol/Paul
