I never get a bad meal in the salt house. I always try new and different things on the menu and it is always top class and top class service by ally and all the waiting staff really service with a smile and nothing is ever a bother. Eating everything from steak to sea foods and vegetarian dishes the food is absolutely beautiful lovely warm sea side atmosphere in the restaurant. Definitely give this place a go and prices are so reasonable.

Walked in and they were pretty busy. As first timers to the cafe there was no welcome, no info about whether to wait to be seated or find a spot for ourselves. We hung around the door unsure and uncomfortable. The waiter, a young man dressed in sportswear, told us there were very busy, very shortstaffed (as if it was our problem/fault) and that there would be a wait. Didn’t say where, so we still hung around the door feeling like awkward, unwelcome and unwanted miscreants. Eventually he cleared and cleaned a table for us upstairs, handed us a menu and we had to find the spot for ourselves. The menu was uninspiring, we weren’t offered a drink when we sat down and the table was sticky and still had gloop on from whoever had used it previously. Totally negative experience. We walked out before we had the chance to order. If there is a manager reading this, an apology would be appropriate.

We dropped into the Claw & Bull on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon with no booking. The whole town of Portaferry was buzzing and we could see from the crowded beer garden that they were very busy. Even though we didn’t have a booking they found us a table with an amazing view overlooking the lough. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Looking forward to a return visit very soon.

The small shop on the waterfront serves a variety of ice creams and on a hot day it was busy. They serve Mullins Ice Creams which come in many delicious flavours. We chose honercomb. Now that's ice cream!

Myself and my wife sat outside on a beautiful July day. We were a bit early for lunch but had a couple of beverages in the sun whilst waiting. The food turned out to be tasty and wholesome. The service was ok considering how busy they were. A nice spot for a pub lunch with a view across the Lough.

Really shocked at the review about fish I eat here a couple of times a month the fish has been fantastic fresh and well batterd yes they do put a few chips in with fish but this is something that has been done for years I take it as a kind gesture to their customers if you have a problem with food you should go back to shop and explain and I know staff would bend over backwards to sort it out with no extra costs to customer ferr grill is the longest standing chip shop in the town it’s reputation is well known and very well deserved so I say well done guys and thanks for your service
