The best restaurants in Exeter South West

Just visited the Tipi bar at Exeter cathedral Christmas market and it was one of the loveliest places to gather out of the cold and enjoy a little tipple. Friendly staff, fireside seats and great selection of drinks.

When always pop in here for a coffee and hot chocolate when we visit Topsham cute tea shop full of plants and gifts so nice.

Took lunch with my 4 year old grandson and wife on the 21/5/ in Exeter. The first impression were very “chic” venue as we hoped. The service was rather Pedestrian although ok. We ordered just one Pizza, and hot drinks, as we had planned our main evening meal already. The pro firstly: The pizza was pipping hot, and flavours were absolutely delicious! In fact, the best we’ve tasted since our New York trip in 2019 eating out in one of their finest Pizzeria’s! Cons: We were not give a sensible choice of seating with our grandchild. We were seated on bar high stools, looking out the window line abreast? We subsequently became aware of ample table seating downstairs after starting our meal. Only one tabled was occupied at the time. The Pizza was served on a platter, but no cutlery offered considering we were sharing? No serviettes were provided. No child plate offered? We had to request these items unnecessarily.... I also expected of any good Restaurant to be asked “ how we were finding our meal” as a common courtesy.  In hindsight not the place to take children I feel, but as an adult venue it’s ticks all the boxes. The Waitress clearly needed to spent more time being astute when dealing with customers, rather than socialising with bar staff..... A very nice place mildly spoilt, by disappointing customer service.

With our first visit to Caribbean868 we were in for a real treat. Firstly, we could actually smell the food before we even saw the stall and let me tell you..it smelt soo good!...secondly, we saw the que of people being served, this was a good sign. We were greeted by Chris and his wife Sasha who are so friendly. They saw us waiting and asked if we wanted to sample some curry which we happily agreed to. I can honestly say that this is the best tasting west Indian curry I've had outside of the Caribbean....after a few samples my partner and I chose the Beef curry and Bake and fish. I went back for seconds!!! The taste of this food is absolutely delicious. I could not get enough. Then onto the coconut cakes...wow! my taste buds were going nuts by this point. With all meals made easy to eat, I could of spent hours here. Nothing was too spicy, it was just right. To be sat there in the sun eating Bake and fish takes me back to being on Maracus beach in Trinidad..well almost lol.. Prices were excellent, Chris and Sasha are warm and friendly, and the vibe given off by this place really makes for an enjoyable visit..So if you are in Exeter and would like to try `Authentic` Caribbean food cooked by Trinidadian`s then be sure to visit Guildhall and sample this place. The BEST coffee in Sidmouth, look out for the various cafes in the town serving BUZZ. They roast the beans at the back of the coffee shop and I always visit but the coffee is so good I have it delivered on subscription every month. Look out for BUZZ coffee you won’t be disappointed!

Taco Boys have made it in the city. Impressive. We had the Taster lunch menu. Varied, high quality, interesting flavours and textures all served with appropriate speed and courtesy. Thank you.

Fresh, big portions, high quality ingredients and the price is absolutely shocking! Best value for money! Highly recommend to give it a try and you will only get your sushi and bubble tea here !

Looking for somewhere for mid morning coffee and spotted Twisters, drawn by the colourful pictures of their unusual chimneys. Shared a cinnamon sugar one, together with hot chocolate and coffee. Was absolutely delicious and so lovely and fresh. Already planning next visit to try a different one. What a lovely cafe and the lady (assume owner) behind the counter so very friendly and explained a bit about the history of the chimneys. Really wish them well with this unique experience. If you read this, don't hesitate, just go and sample. Guarantee you will not be disappointed.

It has become a family tradition now to buy a traybake box for thr kids birthdays. The shop is very welcoming and it is so easy to order. There is a great variety of cupcakes, brownies and other traybakes. We love it! They also have a new website which is great if you cant get to the shop in Exeter

The Well tiene comida y café deliciosos, pero su valor real es como un lugar para pasar un rato feliz. Ya sea solo o en familia. Camine o corra por los senderos o siéntese al sol o acomódese en un rincón con su libro.

Great place to go for Table Top Gaming or RPGs. Well stocked with most ‘geek’ lines. D&D, Marvel, Warhammer etc. Food is excellent on the restaurant side. I ordered a garlic chicken and chips type of meal. Service was fast and food was amazing. Definitely would go again, I highly recommend it.
