The best restaurants in Ottery St Mary Rural East Devon South West

What a fantastic pub, cosy atmosphere and the most delicious food. Staff were so friendly and the food was the best I have tasted in a long time. Fish of the day was outstanding and cooked to perfection. My friend had the pork belly which was equally as good and very tasty. Generous portion sizes. Their homemade chocolate brownie was out of this world. I will definitely be back. Good value for money too. The pub itself has so much going on.

The scone I had was so hard it didn't break even when I banged it on the table. I spoke to a young lady. who exchanged but replaced it with exactly the same hard scone I left it. I was told that they were all cooked at the same time ? How long ago??. Also the diary was £3 dearer than the exact same diary I found in another shop. I'll spend more carefully in future .

Had an awful coffee and stale scone at a certain large garden centre across the road so decided to go to Joshua’s…should have gone in the first place, this is a totally underrated little restaurant serving proper coffee(unlike the machine one over the road which tasted awful) and home cooked food. Have been before and it’s always busy and they have a good selection of foods for all diets for lunch. The shop is a must visit afterwards for gifts and healthy foods. Stocked up on dried herbs for a fraction of the price of a supermarket. They also sell delicious home baked food to take home, including Homity Pies, Quiches and very good value.
