Takeaway visit early this morning to beat the crowds. Shelves were heaving with deliciousness so really spoilt for choice. I selected the usuals, almond croissant, pain au chocolate and a chocolate brownie but extra treat of a blackberry custard pastry (too good looking to pass up) a sausage roll, hot from the oven (steaming in the cool bake house air) and finally... A cinnamon bun from the tray expertly selected by Rory. The man has the skills of a surgeon and the eye of a hawk in choosing the stickiest, most cinnamon-y bun in the tray... All stocked up and home to the family for some silent munching over coffee and juice. When you're in say Hi to Rory and the team and let him show you his zen master cinnamon bun selection routine.

I can't rate this pubs food highly enough! I started off with white bait which was excellent and choose sausage and mash for my main.. Outstanding! The others in my party chose, Scampi, Steak and a delicious looking Stew. Everyone raved about the taste and the presentation. As a plus you can get 2 courses for £18 or 3 for slightly more... We will be back!

We called in here as I’d never been and thought we’d try it out. We ordered two cheese scones with butter and two coffees and sat in the garden. Our very small scones arrived before the coffees, We thought as we buttered our not very cheesy cheese scones that the butter had a strange texture, the coffees were very small and not that hot. As we sat chattering I noticed on the butter wrapper, ‘use by 6/6/23’ The date of our visit being Monday 19th June!! My friend caught the attention of the waitress and told her we’d just eaten two weeks out of date butter, she just said ‘Oh sorry, I’ll tell the kitchen’ We sat for another 15 minutes half expecting maybe a further apology from the kitchen but nobody came near us, so we left having spent £12.30 on two small un-cheesy scones, stale butter and two small warm coffees. Obviously there won’t be a return visit.
