My husband and I visited The Rhoost today after being recommended by a colleague. What a find! Beautiful old pub/restaurant which has been renovated with a modern contemporary twist and to a very high standard. My husband and I both had the thai fishcakes with Asian slaw to start. We both really enjoyed, especially the chilli jam. For mains, my husband had the ribeye steak with triple cooked chips, and I had the braised ox cheeks with garlic mash. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The steak was perfectly cooked and the chips were amazing! We would have loved to try the dessert menu but were too full after our two courses. Jo was a superb host and made us feel extremely welcome. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for a great afternoon.

An absolute local gem. I've bought two of my children in and it was lovely. The staff are a credit and the food is so tasty. I look forward to returning ☺️

You would think the minimum requirement for running a cafe was the ability to speak to people politely. The couple were extremely rude. They completely ignored us waiting at their serving window. The woman spent 5 mins studiously stirring what looked like 2 cups of instant coffee. It's a shame as their attitude put a real downer on a beautiful place. This is repeated again and again in these reviews, and it's true. These people obviously need to retire, get a job they like, or get some serious customer service training. I would avoid if you want to enjoy your walk. Park somewhere else, walk there, and take a flask. For info..car park is £5.
