The best restaurants in Leigh and Chiddingstone Causeway Sevenoaks South East

We went on mother's day, and the whole experience was excellent. Between when we had booked, and when we actually went, my grandma had very unfortunately broken both of her wrists, but all of the staff were so understanding and accommodating of the circumstances, including adjusting her portion sizes and giving her the rest in takeaway boxes. All of the food we had was absolutely delicious, and it was very well organised so that it didn't feel too busy despite being mother's day.

The nut roast was quite nice but unfortunately they do not offer vegetarian gravy to go with it. So you end up paying £21 for a plate of dry vegetables. I understand the restaurant may have a more meaty focus but a tub of red bisto gravy granules doesn’t cost much, is suitable for vegetarians/vegans and it means everyone is catered for. Given that approximately 1 in 10 people in the UK follow a vegetarian diet, it surely makes better business sense to offer a couple of decent vegetarian and vegan options. A big shout out to the lady who served us for her excellent customer service though. She went above and beyond to help even when one of the chefs clearly took umbrage when I asked if the nut roast was vegan. The head chef then had to clear up this confusion. An unnecessarily stressful encounter all round.

Dropped in on Sunday for a late lunch. Obviously busy but we were lucky to get a table for 2 and we were made to feel very welcome by the lady who seemed to be managing the restaurant that day. We ordered 2 roast chicken dinners, a small wine and a pint. £59 including service. I’m glad the service gets added on. We are generous anyway but nice to know nobody is getting away with being mean. Oli who served us was great. Very pleasant. Oli and the lady both asked if all was well With our meals. The portions were plentiful! Massive Yorkshire, delish red cabbage, I think a swede/carrot mash, cauliflower cheese. Really nice chicken breast rather than a cheap half chicken places serve. Stuffing. If that doesn’t fill you up you over eat 😂. 3 potatoes, my husband had to finish one of mine. Too full for desert. Really lovely place. A big family meal going on, seems ideal for that. A big garden. We got a space in the car park. Wish I could remember the lady’s name, she was really friendly and professional, as was Oli. Other people visiting were a nice crowd, well behaved kids etc. which you can guarantee but made for a really lovely visit after a walk at Chiddingstone

I have placed a few orders before and the food is excellent. They came to our work to feed lunch to a 70 strong work force and smashed it!! The chips are amazing! Friendly staff tasty food!
