Another triumph at Magpies Nest this time for the Natalie Ciufo’s Christmas party. It’s very good value for a three course meal where the staff work so hard to keep everyone happy and entertainment is included. And entertain they do by booking artist in residence Natalie Ciufo. I don t know what it is about Natalie really which makes us return for as many of her performances as we can. Obviously she’s a beautiful young woman and a very charming one too but we come for the music . When she sings a cover version without exception it is always better than the original. I think she has a special gift for making her audience feel like she is singing to them personally . It might be a stolen glance, a warm smile and if you are lucky she will sing a line directly to you. Natalie is so self effacing I sometimes wish she loved herself as much as her audience does. I suppose it’s that modesty that means we have her all to ourselves when she could be packing out arenas I m sure. Of course she has her fans eating out of her hand, and the reward for us is hearing these songs sometimes for the first time because she brings the lyric to life with her wonderful voice range, body language and dance moves. Teamwork makes the dream work and Dad Stuart is Natalie’s very able assistant . A performer himself it’s not hard to see why she is so talented. He’s always there for her to make everything run seamlessly. Magpies Nest raise a lot of money for charity too. Tonight they were supporting the Salvation Army homeless appeal to provide meals at Christmas and donated three amazing lottery prizes. Can t wait for Nat’s next local performance in January which is already in the diary. Get your tickets because one day soon , maybe not today, or even tomorrow but exceedingly sure some talent spotter will wisp her away from us to Stardom.

Stopped on Sunday afternoon for a drink. Lovely spot by the canal and the best hot choclate I've had in a long time. Nice to find somewhere at the end of a walk down the canal, has a good selection of food on the menu, previously tried the breakfast which was tasty will be going back to try for lunch 😊

Our lovely local pub... Fab staff and Michelle is amazing, always takes time to stop and chat with me, hubby and boys... A pint for the hubby whilst I have a pinot in peace (kinda, 2 boys, enough said) There a pool table and darts and lovely community pubs like this are a rarity nowadays but we love our little local... Thank you to you all xxxx

I’ve been to daisy doodahs a few times now and it’s been a wonderful experience each time. The staff are friendly and efficient, it’s a cosy little patisserie and the cakes are to die for! I would definitely recommend a coffee and cake visit if you haven’t been before. Their sandwiches/panini’s are relish too!!
