Ottima pausa pranzo!

Chaotic service and given a table and chairs more suited to being outside, which it probably was in the summer, despite having booked a table. Overcooked starters although the main, byriani, was very good. Just uncomfortable with the chaotic service, sparkling wine about to be opened with no glasses on the table, for example.

This has been a staple of mine for thirty years or so, but I haven’t been for a few years. Completely gone downhill, the food was inedible. I was mightily surprised to read in The Observer the next day that Gilbert & George still go there regularly. I think it must be an old line they continue to trot out. No complimentary mezes as you get in most places. The homemade bread wasn’t baked properly. The meat was undercooked. The floor was slippery, the place appeared dirty, and the service was indifferent.

Encontré en este lugar. . . . . Particularmente encantadores 😁 halloumi a la parrilla

“Holy Cow” I travel the Uk for work and so I eat out an awful lot. It can be a Beefeater, a carvery to a plush 5 star restaurant so I have tried my fair share of dishes. I have also tried my fair share of curry’s to and I don’t say this lightly. The curry I had a Holy Cow was just off the Chart, possibly the tastiest curry in the UK. You appreciate a good curry then do not give this a miss. Brilliant !

I’m not going to lie this review is a little bit all over the place We went to the shop and the interior is outdated but it was the only available option at the time and seeing the interior you will either think the food will be banging or it will be a miss. There was 2 brothers at the till and both of them are very very nice, they treat you as though you are family. I took pictures of the food and shop and something else… The doner was £7 for large which is average pricing everywhere The food was good/ok! The cleanliness of the shop was 0/10 Seats and tables were dirty and there was a bag of weed or drugs on the table.. This shop with their service has the potential to do better.

Where to start...let's say from the name. For whom it is not Italian or familiar with Italian Language the name is where to start La Figa. This is a terms that indicate women genital part very much used in the 80's. This restaurant recall a lot of that period including the Bar Area very similar to the one that you would seen in a Disco back in the 80's in Rome. Their food it is really good and their product authentic, nothing to say. I had a lovely Whitebait as startee and they were very well done, crispy with a light bread crumb batter. We follow are meal with a Pizza, really good one, thin and crisp with a very great toppings. This is the results of a good experience on managing flour and hoven (Electric). Bravo chef. We finished our meal with a Creme Caramel, once again a classic of the 80's. The lady that look after us was really nice and with a great experience and made our meal really enjoyable, thank you for your kindness and professionalism. Overall a place to go if you want to have great food and service, to the owner I would only suggest maybe is time to refresh and move on from the 80' (We are on our 55 so we lived and loved that time but we adapted as well to the new era). By the way as we were used to say back in our time alway "Viva La Figa ...Restaurant"
