This place is as nasty as the women that runs it tried to use the toilets. 1 cubicle you can't lock the door the other has no toilet seat showers are rancid how the lorry drivers try and wash in the showers is beyond farcical Now to the food experience all i can say is wot a waist of money no real Menu i don't like black pudding so asked if they could change it for a slice of toast omg this obviously upset this nutter behind the till she started shouting and yelling telling me it was to difficult to change a bit of black pudding for a slice of toast the way she was going on about it you would have thought I wanted a steak and fries all i can say its a total dive of a truck stop and the food and staff are as nasty and disgusting as each other

Less than after a year of opening this place is in need of a refurbishment, the toilets have been stinky and out of date since day one, I don’t know if their kitchen or bar staff have their own toilet but if they’re using these toilets then don’t ever eat here. The Garden is a mess, weeds everywhere, a wasps nest that has been reported several times but is still there, stink coming from the toilets, old splintered furniture. It’s such a shame as it’s in a prime spot overlooking the water gardens and could be so much better and at £3:80 a pint cheapest then I expect better. They do have free WiFi, free jukebox and show sports on small televisions, also pool and darts but if people are playing pool and darts then you can’t watch TV. Sadly I believe this pub won’t be around much longer and is a great opportunity missed once again.

If I could’ve given 0 stars I would’ve. We had A 2 hour wait when recommended 30-50 mins and a complete Lack of communication when we rung to see where the food was. We were told it would arrive within 2-3 minutes which led to a further 20 minute wait. The food was vile. I wouldn’t have fed it to my dog. The wrap had clearly been cooked hours before, it had chewy inedible chicken and was wrapped in paper that was completely stuck to the wrap to the point we couldn’t separate the two to eat it. The juices were leaking through the wrap, through the paper and through the foil packaging which I’m sure is not normal. Absolutely disgusting I would not recommend.

This was a Sunday lunchtime meal for 9 people 25 years after 2 of the diners had their wedding reception at this hotel. There were only 2 other tables occupied in the restaurant during the visit despite being told on booking that they were very busy and hoped to fit us in. The meal took 3 hours and 20 minutes for 3 courses in contrast to being told that the table needed to be vacated 2 hours after the booked time. Scallops for starter was £13. There were 2 scallops! Looked Queen rather than King. £6.50 a scallop is on the dear side! It took me 90 seconds therefore to eat my starter. One scallop less and it would have been scallop not scallops. My main course was fish and chips. Haddock fried with skin on which is unusual these days. Chips were more numerous than the scallops-eleven in total. Undoubtedly the smallest portion of chips I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten an awful lot of chips. The rest of our table had similar complaints. The staff although pleasant were conspicuous by their absence and I spent most of the meal staring at an empty plate, only slightly more empty than when it arrived. The bill as usual was presented with an additional 12.5% service charge. When are we going to outlaw this ridiculous practice in the U.K.? Pay staff a decent wage and include staff costs in the cost of the food.

A short stay in the Premier Inn at Hemel over the weekend. I was supposed to be going on an events day with a few mates. However, after a short stop in the restaurant I ordered a vegetable curry which first of all took over an hour to get to me whilst the rest of the restaurant was fairly empty. I spoke to a server who quickly made sure that I got my meal, and a complimentary desert. All looks good so far, however that curry was not stored correctly or the rice was double cooked because after ingesting that food I have been violently sick for 4 consecutive days. I was too ill to raise this issue with the team whilst I was there and when I checked out there was no-one on the desk to raise this issue with either, so I was left stuck.
