Zumu Sushi in Bury

Great find, my other half loves sushi and this marvellous place was only a ten min drive away. The staff were warm and friendly the food was excellent and plentiful, will definitely be returning.

Can be a little cramped for larger parties but otherwise always excellent.

Ordered through deliveroo with an estimated time of 70 mins wait. It took 3 hours for the food to arrive -10:25pm. I tried calling the restaurant but the line was engaged for over half an hour, in the end I had to call their branch in Bolton to contact them. There was nothing but an "I'm sorry we've been busy and we hadn't realised something was wrong with our phone" -they didn't even consider contacting us to let us know that the order would be delayed. When I asked if I could speak to a manager I was told managers aren't usually on site. I left my number to be contacted but have heard nothing. Absolutely shocking customer service, which is a shame because the sushi is excellent from here. 3 hours for a delivery from a restaurant half an hour away, is unacceptable, especially without a meaningful apology.

Food was cold and mochi balls had defrosted. App stated delivery 19:05, actually arrived at 19:50 I had ‘phoned and they said it had been out for delivery for a while. The beef teriyaki seemed to have less beef than usual?

Ordered at 20:45 with an expected delivery time of 21:55. At 22:36 i rang for a delivery update and was told my order was there, they had been busy and were waiting for a driver. My order arrived at 23:27, and was dropped on my driveway by the driver

I have still not had my food and the Restauraunt is not taking my calls. Despite rearranging it twice the food has still not arrived. Extremely unprofessional and poor service

not being funny but three hour wait is absolutely shocking

Shocking, over 2 hours late, no communication. We gave up in the end and made something else for our meal only to get a call 2 hours and 20 minutes later to let us know the delivery was outside. I refused delivery but assured a refund would be made so took delivery, 90% is in the bin.

This restaurant has the best food! Absolutely incredible, from taste to presentation, the home deliveries are always so polite and friendly! Definitely the best in the North West!

The sushi at this place is the best around. We are thankful that there is one close to where we live now as we used to visit the Disbury branch. I can’t recommend their food enough. So fresh and delicious. It’s our go to for sushi

Food turned up 30 minutes late, no drinks delivered with the box meals. Paid £44 for two box meals, the food was cold and bland!

Sushi is incredibly fresh and flavorful, with perfect rice and delicious fillings. A must-try for any food lover!

Food was 30 mins late - we live 2 mins away. Asked for the restaurant to contact us but no response despite several attempts. Number out of service. Found a number that worked and were fobbed off about the status saying delivered.Food was barely warm

used to love this place, last 2/3 deliveries have been late and food was stone cold but still good quality food after reheating in the oven. just a pain to wait an extra 30mins on top of late delivery.

Really good food, staff tend to get orders wrong and whenever you get takeaway, you could end up waiting for 1-2hrs for food… Need to hire more kitchen staff

Shame I always eat here but ordered food around 7:15 got it at 8:50 I only live round the corner and when it arrived it was cold I had to ring the restaurant 4 times the delivery driver wasn’t answering

Delivery time 1940-2000hrs, delivered at 2043. Food stone cold on arrival. The phone number for the restaurant on Just-eat is out of service, no reply to the just eat txt complaint service. A complete waste of money.

Waited 3 hours for a takeaway order. Asked for a refund and was told they’d process a refund, called 3 more times over a week, still no refund. Appalling service!

You order food that arrives 3 hours later, we ordered food for delivery, we rang back 4 times asking where it was, 3 hours later in total it took we had to eat due to the wait and no refund after ringing 2 times for that also over the space of 2 weeks, and responses like we're busy can you ring back again for it when that's already what you're on the phone for over and over again, the worst bit is the food is great, absolute mess of running the business, excuses like the kitchen aren't receiving tickets for food orders to go out and shocked you're irritated ringing back multiple times for food not arriving trying to get you off the phone. Wouldn't recommend.

Unfortunately it was delayed a couple of times but I understand that they were busy, the food itself was lovely! Really nice and was still warm :)

Food never arrived , called restaurant and they said they're not on just eat. Hungry and disappointed.

We are regular orderers, and the staff are always helpful. Food is always great too. Sadly though this time, they must have been very busy in the restaurant or other takeaway, but our order was 45 minutes late, quite cold and we weren’t informed - we had to keep phoning for updates.

The food from Zumuku is always great but the wait time is ridiculous. It’s always an hour but tonight I ordered at 17.51 and we’re now on 20.33 and still no food. It’s such a shame but the service is terrible and we won’t be ordering again.

Very pleasant, polite and friendly service from the staff that handed me my order, food was perfect and very filling as well as generous sized portions. The sushi tacos were amazing 10/10 would recommend to give em a try. Thank you :)

Consistently good! We love this place

Visited few days ago. Sushi was fresh and tasty. Uddon noodles with seafood was very delicious 🤤.

Zumu special and takoyaki delicious, togarashi fries underseasoned and really plain, shame cos they are ususally brilliant.

They get the order wrong almost every week. It has got to the point where people in my house accuse me of not double confirming the order when we get home. They even confirm one of the dishes as “plain” and write it on the bag. When I get home, it’s covered in sauce. I’m not going to come back again now. The food is good but the service in the kitchen is appalling. They never read the actual order properly.

Very helpful front of house staff

It's a 30–40 minute drive but we keep ordering from this place because the food is very good! We've always gotten the correct items (to take away), well packaged for the drive back, and they are careful about separating warm and cold items. It's convenient to order from their web site. The young lady at front of house today was especially pleasant – very apologetic for a minor delay, struck up a conversation, offered complimentary drinks and snuck in a "happy birthday" note for my partner who I got the takeaway for – well played :)

Contact details incorrect so could not find out what was happening. Delivery charge of £6 to get cold food over 40 mins late? First and last time ordering from here. Food would have been superb if it had arrived hot and on time. What a shame.

Great food made quickly, but still of impeccable quality. We have eaten here a handful of times and always leave full and happy with what we have eaten. Prices are reasonable, and the lunch deal is good too. The staff are friendly and helpful also. My recommendation would be the eel nigiri.

Food eventually turned up over an hour late, cold, and enedible. Called restaurant multiple times and they never answered.

Lovely hot food delivered in 30 minutes on a Friday night. Perfect! If you want a takeaway but want quality food and not a heavy greasy meal, then this is the place to order from.

Fancied a chance from the usual takeaway and boy did it pay off. Food was the same quality as the high street brands and was exceptional for being delivered as a takeaway 🥡. We decided to try Zumuku as I had been to a place offering similar cuisine a few weeks before. The waitresses were chatty and nice. Enjoyed a share of gyoza, just to wake our appetite, then katsu chicken (for my partner) and a chicken dish with udon noodles for me. Evidently there are several other similar restaurants owned by the same Filipino chap. It’s a casual restaurant which we’d definitely try again.

Food was okay but definitely not worth the price, especially for the portion size. Delivery was marked as done half an hour before it actually arrived.

Our first time at this amazing little restaurant and was blown away from the food we ordered. Sushi's, chicken katsu curry, char sui ramen and mochi for desserts. Our waitress was Christine who who was very engaging with us all (family of 4). The foods arrived very quick and well presented. It was closing time and kids wanted to play and since we were the last customers, then Christine and Emily were fantastic with my kids. We definitely will go back one day as my wife works behind the restaurant. The chefs are 5 star with high quality foods

Order was over 2 hours late and stone cold. I’m not usually one to complain and we’ve had some great meals from Zumuku before but this was disappointing. Restaurant offered no resolution or compensation to the problem.

This was incredible, tasty food. We ordered vegan bao buns, tofu katsu curry, chicken skewers, avocado maki rolls and chicken baos. Amazingly they managed to please an 82 year old finicky vegetarian woman, a fairly no nonsense 78 year old Bury man, and me, a vegan who eats anything non-animal. This never happens, so thank you, Zumuku!

I absolutely love this place. Never have a bad meal, everything tastes so fresh and it’s so wonderful to have sushi on our doorstep in Rammy. Special shout out to the Chicken Chahan, so tasty.

When we arrived the service was very slow (baring in mind there was only a couple of tables in at the time). We had been sat there for over 15 minutes but I had to go up myself to ask for a menu. When the food arrived, it was not up to the normal standard to what I usually have, the beef was burnt and tough and just not enjoyable. I also had to ask for extra sauce twice as it was so dry (again had to go up and ask for this as no one came to the table and all of the staff were in the bar area). On top of this, when I went to the toilet all of them were blocked and 2 of them in a disgusting state. If I’d of gone to the toilet first I would have actually walked out because they were that disgusting. Really disappointed with this experience - will not be visiting again!

We've been meaning to eat here for a while and so glad we finally did. The food was really good, and really cheap! We got the 2 courses for £12.95 and even though the reduce price, the portions were big! Highly recommend the chicken wings and gyozas, and udon noodles.

Bang out of order. Missing off the most exepnsive item then not open to take my call. Left a voicemail and submitted refund request. 40 quid out of pocket and still don't have a meal. Very disappointed.

I really enjoyed the food here and the portion sizes were great, very affordable. You can take your own alcohol too, which they keep cool for you. The staff were really attentive as well.

Ordered from here a few times both me and my mum really enjoy but recently not been up to scratch it seems the quality is slowly decreasing. Food has been cold, tasteless edamame not salty nor crunchy. Dissapointing as I do love this place.

Absolutely brilliant find. We spotted the place from outside and were impressed by the modern decor, looked upmarket and inviting. A lovely warm welcome, the team couldn’t have been more helpful. They have a really reasonably priced lunch menu, but we opted for what we fancied. The food was excellent, authentic, super fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back.

Never been before so thought we’d give it a go. Really good food. Loads of veggie and vegan choice and plenty of the usual fish and meat dishes. Lots of choice. They staff were really friendly and helpful. All tasted delicious. Will be going back. Something different for Rammy.

Popped in for lunch, great choice, super tasty food, . Had chicken Katsu curry, nicest we have ever had. We will be back.
