If you want to feel like you've been dropped into a family run taverna on a Greek island, made to feel like you're welcome and eat and drink well at a very reasonable price, zorbas is the place to be. We love it.

Called at 9.30pm and was immediately shown to a table.... authentic Greek dishes that will not disappoint... Highly recommend the Stolen Lamb or the Daz Chicken Kebab... both meals were fantastic... Great atmosphere with live greek music and great hosts... very friendly restaurant

Visited Zorbas last night to celerbrate my Mums 70th Birthday. The food was amazing, the staff were brilliant and made my Mums birthday one to remember. Well worth a visit. Definitely a 10/10. Well done!!

We turned up, orders were taken. There was an atmosphere between the male and female serving us. Throughout the meal “having words” over our table. The male server had a particularly bad attitude. Tutting and rolling eyes when asking for drinks, getting upset when I didn’t answer when he shouted ‘spinach pie’ as I was expecting him to shout ‘spanikopita’ when I asked if it was spanikopita he abruptly said ‘no it’s spinach pie. Having read it as spanikopita on the menu, having eaten it myself in Greece, having made it myself for the last 20 years, I know what it is. When he brought the food, he did somethin I was so shocked at I literally had no words. My step daughter was sat next to me. He put our tray of food on her head while he removed each dish, she didn’t move, she just tapped me on the leg to tell me. I was stunned into silence. We ate our over priced, below expectation food and just couldn’t wait to leave. I think it’s a shame this place seems to have gone down hill but unfortunately won’t be going back.

Really enjoyed the food we ordered the mixed platter only one detail we would have loved a portion of there homemade chips .

I 1st went to Zorbas back in the 80's when it was just a small friendly place with great food now 40 yrs later the staff, restaurant and menu may have grown but it's still my 1st place to go for the best Greek food. Well done for keeping the standard so high for so long

Zorbas was recommended to us by a local friend and we enjoyed our Saturday night dinner very much - Luisa and her team do a superb job of looking after everyone. Portions were big and food was tasty - I am vegetarian and there were lots of options- I loved especially the courgette fritters that I had not tried before. Thank you!

This restaurant was suggested to me by my friend, and it’s truly amazing. The staff are super friendly and cool. The prices are reasonable, and the food is yummy. We didn’t order any alcoholic drinks this time, but I’d like to try them on my next visit. I highly recommend it if you’re unsure where to eat in Liverpool city centre.

We're a party of 14 people, here for an annual get together. This is our 2nd time. The food is simple Greek cuisine but always prepared beautifully. I had the lamb cutlets, which were done to perfection, having a beautiful smokey taste and not at all fatty. Our starter of whitebait and calamari was great. We ended with medium sweet Greek coffee. Our total bill, including drinks came to about £40 per person, which was good value, given the quality and quantity. Oh, and the live music was excellent. Much better than recorded materials.

Authentic menu, delicious hearty food served fresh, special mention to the mousaka which arrived steaming on the plate - and that is not an easy one to get right. Totally recommended.

Great no-fuss food and service. My wife had two starters instead of a main course. I had the lamb chops. We shared everything. The house wine was grand. Live Greek music and a noisy, homly atmosphere.

Booked online, 40 mins before arrival. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. We had lovely starters, white fish,baked feta and spinach & feta pastry parcels, all dishes were lovely. The pitta bread and dips were so tasty, however the Greek salad was missing a few ingredients no olives or onions, was still tasty a wee bit more feta would have been good too. Now the main courses were excellent, we had kleftiko, the meat just fell off the bone, it was so tender and very tasty. The moussaka was full of meat and the portion size was massive. Overall the food, wine and atmosphere was fabulous.

Great place, the food was lovely, entertainment was good and service fantastic. Really enjoyed it and would visit again when in Liverpool.

The restaurant was lovely, and the family owning it, even more ! We went there last summer, we wanted to eat a bit late but everything was closed, but not the Zorbas. They served us even while it was nearly empty and were really friendly, explaining some history of the food and helping us choose. They also made us taste a Greek alcohol for free, just because we were wondering what it was. The food was also really good and decently priced. An absolute 10 out of 10 for the Zorbas !

Excellent food served quickly by helpful but unfussy waiter. Great choice of food including portion size and vegetarian and vegan options. Lovely Greek style live music at appropriate volume that is so rare now! We could still easily have a conversation.

I visited this Greek gem last night and was utterly impressed. The restaurant offers exceptional value for money, and the welcoming staff embodies the spirit of Greek hospitality. The flavours transported me straight to the Aegean. A must-visit for authentic Greek cuisine lovers!

We visited on a Saturday night and would highly recommend. The live music was really good and made the atmosphere amazing. All of the food was lovely, in particular we loved the lamb kleftico, spanakopita and baked feta starter. The service was also fantastic, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is beautifully cooked, authentic and beautifully presented. We just love the place. Absolutely brilliant. Been meaning to go for ages and went tonight and wasn't disappointed. It has everything you could possibly want. Great food, service, atmosphere and as it was Saturday live greek music which was a bonus!

The mousakka was too salty. The staff really nice, but disappointing food. It was our wedding anniversary and we expected more.

Zorbas must surely be the best Greek restaurant in Liverpool and surely one of the best in the UK! We stumbled on it during an afternoon walk and thought it might be a good choice for dinner and were not proved wrong. It is run by a wonderful family who take great pride in their food. The desserts are especially good 😋 The ambiance is great and the decor is lovely. Live music was provided by Andreas. He played a varied mix of Greek music, contemporary music with the bouzouki being the main instrument. He also played some nice songs of his own too. We were still there late as many of the owner's (Louise and "Mr Michael") family arrived and we soon felt like part of the family and treated to some ouzo 😃 Thoroughly recommended!

We stumbled across this place having attended a show at the philharmonic hall near by. As is often our frustration in the UK the possibility of being able to get a decent meal after a theatre trip are virtually zero as most venues close their kitchen at 10 pm at the latest. We wondered in to this brilliant authentic restaurant a little after 10 pm and were warmly greeted and shown to a table. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the food was authentic super tasty and great value. The venue is simple and rustic in its decor which suits us fine we have no interest in sitting in over decorated fashionable restaurants eating average food. We had a set meal for 2 and everything was delicious. The Baclava we shared for desert was a particular delight. We would recommend to anyone s these king of places are hard to come by and so so good! We will be back!

The hospitality is number one, the food excels the hospitality, the service is impeccable, the music is excellent. This family makes everyone feel loved. It's my favourite restaurant in all of England.

We ordered hummus, aubergine dip, beef meatballs and courgette fritters, all delicious and came with hot pitta bread. Main course was succulent chicken and lamb mix kebabs and afelia, melting pork in wine and herbs. Live music gave atmosphere and all staff and customers were cheerful. A great meal!

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and we had a brilliant time. The food, service and ambience was excellent. From the moment you walked in , it was as if you were transported to the Mediterranean with the music and decor. The food was very tasty and the service, great. No wonder it is Liverpool’s longest running restaurant! We really enjoyed our evening , thank you. ❤️

Fantastic food last night the meze with the live music all was lovely, to all the staff and owners efharisto!

As a greek person I always find it difficult to dine in a greek restaurant abroad. Something always doesn't feel right. But that wasn't the case I'm Zorbas. The food was incredible, handmade, authentic, just like my yiayia is making it. 🤤The owner was so sweet and attentive, and the waiter was funny and creative on his service and made the experience even better!! Tip, if you go on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is live music 😊 We went on Easter Sunday and they even made a traditional special for the day, magiritsa. I can keep talking about the experience, but truly words won't be enough. Don't miss it !!

This is the place in Liverpool for traditional Greek food. Lots of choice all mains come with rice or chips you can ask for half and half. The seafood and mousakka is amazing. But the deserts are the star of the show all home made and change daily this was the baklava cheese cake combination and it was phenomenal.

Wow, what a place! A large group of us came here for a birthday celebration dinner. The owners and staff were so accommodating and so friendly. They made such a fuss of my one year old - it really was lovely! And to top it off the food was absolutely fantastic. We would definitely come back and would highly recommend to anyone. No regrets here. Came in early-ish, before a gig. It was fairly quiet at the start but soon picked up! Definitely worth booking, especially on a weekend. Reasonable selection of some traditional Greek favourites - plenty to choose from. Food was really well cooked and presented - extremely tasty! A little live music at the back of the restaurant kept the atmosphere upbeat and authentic. Slightly narrow and some tables were a little close together, but this may have been because they were expecting a large party. Not worth deducting from clear 5 stars though. Thank you.

I visited Zorbas after hearing so much about it from friends and family. We ordered Calamari, Houmous, Tahini, Dolmades, pickled Octopus, Paidakia (lamb chops), Spanakopitta and Taramosalata - probably the best dishes I have ever been served. The family who run this place are so kind and gentle. If you ever do anything in this wonderful city.. eating here has to be one of them. There aren’t many restaurants like Zorbas around anymore. I would recommend to everyone! We travelled from London and was so worth it, I would like to come back here again and again.

Wonderful family run restaurant that we have been dining at for many, many years. This place serves up the most authentic, delicious and high quality Greek dishes in all of Liverpool. The family that own it are always so warm and welcoming and always ensure you get the best service. If you’re looking for an all rounder - this is the place.

Saturday night was my first time at Zorbas - you must visit this lovely restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing, you can tell that everything is fresh and home made. King prawns, Falafel, Dolmades, Kleftiko, Sheftalia, Spanakopitta, Fillet Steak, even the chips, everything we tasted was the best we have ever had. They know what they are doing here, it is no wonder the restaurant is still going strong 48 years on. The atmosphere is welcoming, humble and charming. Louisa and her family made us feel so welcome, it has been a while since we have met such stunning and kind people. A very beautiful family. My absolute favourite restaurant, we will continue to visit when we are in Liverpool.
