Zaza Harpenden in St Albans

Just can't resist coming to Zaza Harpenden, welcoming staff, great service and great food.. we shared a starter on this occasion mushrooms off the specials menu mmmm.. I had the calves liver for mains, never thought I'd be eating that but it is sooooo niiiice, other half had the spaghetti with meatballs .. Everything went down a treat 😋..obviously we had to have a dessert. We shared the creme brulee with an extra scoop of coconut ice cream. Thank you .. See you soon Zaza.

This is our go to restaurant... It's definitely worth the trip... we love it here. Never a disappointed meal, greeted by friendly staff, friendly servers too, we just can't keep away ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very accommodating and generous with the cheese! The scouts were overall very impressed with the pizza quality and taste. Only slight niggle was that the basil taste wasn’t consistent in every bite. Bonus points awarded for free brownies!

We were let down by a nearby restaurant for Mother’s Day lunch which my children had booked today. We called Zaza and they had a table for 6 free. From entry into the restaurant we were welcomed by staff, we felt cared for during our visit and the food was superb. Larisa in particular gave us the best customer service as did other staff. Our first visit here but definitely not our last.

We fancied a meal at Saturday lunchtime at Zaza whilst in Harpenden , We had not booked but had had lunch there before without booking. We arrived at around 1pm We were greeted by a rude girl who told us -whilst the restaurant looked empty and there were plenty of tables -that we could only have the table for an hour She then showed us to a table next to a family with a baby and a baby buggy on top of that table We walked out.

What a lovely restaurant. The atmosphere and night experience make it special for all sorts of occasions. The menu is fantastic there's something for everyone so no one is left out. However I must be bias in this regard and say that the Meatball Calzone is the best thing on the menu. Words cannot do this dish justice it is truly out of this world. If nothing else find out for yourself you will not be disappointed. Value for money would be something I would have expected to pay in any West End night spot. So if you want to treat that special someone in your life or family gathering ZAZA should be top of your list. 5* for sure.

We visit ZaZa around twice a month, the food is always excellent, the staff and really great too. It’s our go to for a family meal out.

I've visited Tabure a few times now and I've always had a great experience, staff are great and the food is always delicious. Sitting on the high chairs gives a great view of the chefs prepping and cooking food, tapas style menu so it's suggested you order a few dishes per person and honestly every dish packs flavour and cooked to perfection. Harpenden has a great choice of restaurants and Tabure is easily one of the best places to eat, the chicken wings and pulled lamb are recommended

Had a great time here – super stylish setting and the food was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was also very friendly and helpful.

Great meals and great drinks with friends. Lovely pizzas and the chicken pasta is to die for. Great service and friendly staff. We had Duncan serving us and was great. Would definitely come back again!

I visited with my partner for my birthday meal. I was SO nervous because I have a severe nut allergy so often do not try out new restaurants. We called in advance to inform the restaurant and the lady who answered the phone was amazing and reassured that all would be fine. When we got there, I was anxious as we were sat close to another table (this is not at fault of the restaurant I am just anxious) we asked to move and they happily moved us no problems at all. They had a QR code for allergies and the waitress even knew why dish was safe off the top of her head. I felt so safe and comfortable the whole meal and we had the best experience ever. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was sooo good. We will 100% visit again and bring friends and family. Thank you so much for making me feel at ease. They made me feel special on my birthday with a free glass of Prosecco and they sang happy birthday to me with a desert. Highly highly recommend for those who have allergies!

Yet another delicious meal at Zaza Harpenden. We just love this place, had the spaghetti carbonara with side portion of sauteed garlic mushrooms 😋.. partner had Polla Diavola (char grilled half chicken) with sliced nduja sausage with sauteed garlic mushrooms ... Creme brulee for dessert 😋.. we think this place is absolutely fab...staff are so welcoming and attentive..never been disappointed.... Our go to restaurant in Harpenden ..I live in Hertford.... Can't wait to return 😃

We reserved a table for twelve on the set menu. Unfortunately the restaurant realised the day before that they had recorded the wrong date (I’m still not sure whose error this was). First time here, but have been to their st Albans branch on a few occasions. Both are just great. The food, service and ambience is all extremely high. Menus are the same at both - so im rapidly running out of options to try new dishes, but that's a good thing. Well done guys, Highly recommended

What a lovely evening we had at Tabure, Harpenden. Every dish we had was simply exceptional. Well crafted dishes that had fusion flavours as promised. Service was very attentive as well. Would highly, highly recommend!

It was a random visit due to rainy evening, but it was some kind of discovery. Yes, it was more expensive as we usually pay in such places, but it was definitely worth it - quality of the food is pretty nice and the service is pretty good as well. Also they have our favourite turkish coffee.

On a Sunday afternoon I was looking for halal diner in Harpenden whilst I dropped my daughter off to her friends birthday party at Roundwood Primary School. When I enquired if the meat/chicken was halal/kosher, she was totally honest and said No. I know from past experience, honesty and integrity is compromised in the food business so I opted for a quick vegan option and chose the halumi and bread! Absolutely amazing taste and will be back for a proper sit down, God willing. ❤️

Excellent Modern Turkish restaurant with a warm/friendly atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dishes as suggested ,all were delicious with so many different flavours. The Keskek(Barley risotto) with organic pulled lamb was my personal favourite. We will be back.

So firstly I'm not sure how 'authentic' this Turkish restaurant is, but from the food being offered it was far from authentic from what I know of Turkish restaurants. Sure, it has a captive clientele and will no doubt appeal to those who aren't bothered whether the food on offer is Halal or not – but I can confirm that it is NOT! So in my somewhat naive view if you are an authentic Turkish restaurant then you by default would have to offer Halal food. I will say that the management has at least made the effort to come across as a traditional establishment, by hanging pictures of Turkish folk wearing 'traditional' Muslim clothes and even having a picture which has 'Allah' and Muhammed' (PBUH) written in Arabic – I guess this in their view makes them traditional enough but they just don't offer Halal food at their restaurant! Clearly as a Muslim my choices were reduced to fish or vegetarian; so, considering the food that I ordered and the quality of it, I would have to say it was no more than mediocre! I had the Halloumi as the starters, which was, well just Halloumi followed by the prawns as the main dish and seemed to have been sourced straight from Sainsbury's or Tesco! There could not have been more than 6 in plate, swimming around in a watery red sauce accompanied with some ill defined slimy vegetable and some pitta bread which was no more than a quarter of the normal pitta that you can buy from the supermarkets. It was completely bland! So, for me not only did they fail to deliver quality food, but they must be the only 'authentic Turkish' restaurant in the UK that does not offer Halal food; and that considering Luton with its massive Muslim population is probably 5 to 6 miles away where they can easily source Halal products. I guess it is far easier for this restaurant to offer non-halal food, make more profit as it is cheaper than using Halal products. And I get that Turkey is secular, but then don't hang pictures and the writings in your establishment that suggest otherwise! Will definitely never return!

Hmmm. Firstly I do not live in Harpenden, so £29 plus 12.5 % service charge for a small sirloin steak seem a tad expensive to me, an outsider. A waiter didn't know what Pisco was, yet it was on the menu. The atmosphere wasn't anything different to other restaurants. Turkish coffee which came with the crème brûlée was not available, as the "machine was broken". We were not offered an alternative until we asked and additionally charged for a americano. The other two members of staff were attentive and very friendly. A tapas like experience with good food.

Absolutely one of the best Turkish/Middle Eastern restaurants you'll visit. Walking in to see the grill and stone oven in the centre is a clue that this place is a cut above. I've eaten here a few times and tried several different dishes, every one of them top shelf. Highly recommended - and I recommend booking a table in advance as it's usually quite busy at all hours of every day.

I and my partner had the most wonderful time at Tabure last weekend. Mark and his team were fantastic, service was exceptional, the food was phenomenal. We had steak, warm potato salad (the dressing was delicious), house dips with freshly made bread, oyster mushrooms and cod. We loved every dish and the environment was beautiful and cosy. We will be definitely coming back. Highly recommend.

Although the restaurant was busy (actually full) the service was excellent with prompt attention and no significant delays at all. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced for the area. Highly recommended and looking forward to return visit.

Tabure is a fantastic restaurant. Their dishes are all incredibly tasty - babaganus, chargrilled chicken, beef kofte, seafood pasta, mushrooms with whipped feta... all have such depth of flavour it's hard to go wrong. The atmosphere is cosy and service is warm and friendly. All this does come at a price, but at around £30-£45 per person for dinner (excluding drinks) I still think it's excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The expanded dining area is a win. It's well designed and extremely attractive. We dined early (our preference) so I can't comment on the noise levels when full. As a popular spot, it's likely to be booked up often. The food was lovely to behold and provided a great introduction to Turkish cuisine which is superior to many other "Mediterranean" variants. Although staying close to its roots in terms of ingredients and combinations, the presentation was high class. The wine offering combined familiar standards with lesser known Turkish varieties. Based on this occasion and earlier visits, you can't go wrong either way. Service was excellent, prompt, attentive and friendly. Tabure isn't a bargain night out but provides good value for money.

We had lunch as part of a friend’s birthday event. Food was truly exceptional. The service was excellent and the ambience very pleasing. We had travelled to Harpenden for the event - wish we lived nearer so that we could eat here more often.

Possibly the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. Wonderful atmosphere and excellent service too. The sea bass was crispy, perfectly cooked, in an exquisite sauce. The desserts are scrumptious.

Stunning little spot for dinner, cosy and warm on those cold winter nights, the food was delicious and despite the size of the restaurant ot didn't feel cramped. In fact it gave a more intimate experience, the staff were friendly and helpful albeit a little disorganised with the drinks, but couldn't fault the service with the food.
