Per Tutti St Albans in St Albans

I’ve been to Per Tuti in St Albans on a number of occasions, it has always been a favourite of mine. The food is good. However on this occasion (New Year’s Eve) we left very disappointed with the service. Upon arrival, we were left awkwardly waiting for someone to speak to us whilst a number of staff walked past and ignored us. We had to flag someone down to be greeted/seated. Then, we were seated at a table with food menu only (missing cutlery for one person and no drinks menu). If you you didn’t flag down the staff then you didn’t get to order etc. When I managed to flag someone down (to get a knife to eat food, ask for drinks menu) it felt like you were a complete hassle to the waiters. They didn’t let me finish my sentence when asking for something. Having worked as a waitress and bartender for years I know what it is like during busy times. However, politeness and professionalism should always remain even during these busy times. The food was lovely as always but I don’t think we will be back soon.

We always enjoy this restaurant. Have visited many times and not really ever had negative experiences. Service is always seems very good and the food is great.

We ordered Christmas 2 course which is 18 pounds on Saturday afternoon (the 2 course is usually 14 pounds and more). Starters and mains were so good. Especially i strongly recommend Linguini pasta. Iza served us very well and was very friendly. We'd definitely like to go there again

Possibly the best Italian in St. Albans, where we are spoilt with good Italian restaurants. Even people I talk to that disagree all put it as second best. Worth the short walk down the hill.

Asked for pizza to be crispy...zero notice taken. Arrived like soup in the middle and under cooked. Wasn't asked what the food was like then asked for a tip..... not great.

Food was ok - not the best for the price we paid. Found the staff rude at times and made to feel uncomfortable when didn’t want to a leave tip when paying by card. Will not be returning and definitely would not recommend.

I have visited this restaurant several times and always had great service and food. Tonight we were made to feel like we were a complete inconvenience. Pre ordered meals but one incorrect so they had to wait while the rest ate. Constantly trying to get a waiters attention to order more drinks. Deposit not taken off of the final bill so had to wait to pay even though they were trying to take the table back, not sure where we were supposed to wait. Person who was possibly the manager was just rude. Very disappointed as previous visits always excellent.

I headed to the Per Tutti in Harpenden last night for an early dinner with my son and our friends and I cannot believe how I was spoken to by the blonde waitress working there. She screamed at me twice because my son walked through the restaurant on his own (I was about to stand up and go get him) screaming at me “take care of your child” “you cannot let your child walk through the restaurant” Firstly if she was concerned for his safety there is a better way of trying to tell me then screaming at me in front of everyone. Secondly she should not be speaking to anyone like this. I will not be returning which is a shame as it’s very close to my house. I do not think this women should be working in customer service as she doesn’t know how to treat customers

From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming. It was clear this restaurant takes pride in every detail. Rafaela was incredibly warm and friendly, which set the tone for the evening. The atmosphere was cosy, calm, and inviting, with beautiful decor that made the space feel both stylish and comfortable. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable, which added to the overall sense of care and professionalism. The service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious - every dish was a treat. It was a truly enjoyable experience, and I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend Per Tutti for anyone looking for amazing food in a lovely setting!

This cute, popular Italian serves delicious fresh pasta dishes at a very affordable set menu price in a beautiful, quirky setting. I visit this restaurant with a friend every couple of months when we meet up in St Albans, so I knew to book ahead for the busy Christmas period. I ate here on Wednesday and Saturday. So why not 5 stars? Wednesday - excellent food and service. We ate from the lunch menu - bruschetta, fungi and fettuccine Luganica. Food was excellent, as was the service. Desserts served to another table were generously sized, so we didn't have room for them but enjoyed coffees and a complimentary ice cream to celebrate my friend's birthday 10/10. Saturday - seated upstairs in the larger restaurant this time. We ordered from various menus - I went with the Caprese salad and the Spagetti Carbonna this time, and I recommended the fettuccine to friends. My food was 'nice' but nothing special, and I had to ask for black pepper and the ubiquitous parmesan, which always adds a sharp kick to any dish, was not offered and no where to be seen. 3/4 dishes arrived together whilst we waited a few minutes for cutlery and dish 4 to arrive. Desserts - again, I didn't have room but had commented on how nice they looked on Wednesday - were a bit of a disappointment both in size and flavour. 7/10 On both visits, the restaurant was busy, but Wednesday's experience (midweek, 12.15) was far superior to Saturday (weekend, 2.30). Of course, I'll be returning - but midweek if I can!

What a brilliant little gem! Despite coming in on a busy Saturday evening, Albert squeezed us in and straight away we were taken by the warm, friendly atmosphere, cheerful Italian decor and attentive staff. We both had the special salmon risotto with lemon butter and the flavours were simply heaven. The place is small yet didn’t feel cramped or too noisy at all - we really loved our quick visit to Per Tutti.

Came here for an early dinner before going to a show. It was full even at 6pm. Service is efficient and friendly. The bruschetta to start was delicious, the tomatoes so fresh and juicy. I had the lobster ravioli which was perfectly cooked and a great size portion. My husband had the diavola pizza, he enjoyed it but said it was a bit dry, so put some chilli oil on it. All washed down with a lovely bottle of pinot grigio.

Went here with a group of girl friends for a birthday treat. Staff were amazing, and the food was excellent, with a good choice of food. Highly recommend.

This place was very well decorated and a nice atmosphere. We went on a Saturday evening and it was busy. Our waitress was very friendly and understanding. To begin we had garlic bread with mozzarella and pesto. This was absolutely beautiful, very tasty. The PENNE POLLO GORGONZOLA was okay not the best but not the worst. Unfortunately, there was barely any pine nuts. The broccoli was cooked to perfection for me. The SPAGHETTI CARBONARA was completely disgusting and couldn’t be eaten. Would not recommend this to anybody. The dish was a thick glued, stodgy, sticky mess. I believe the egg had scrambled and the dish was ruined and not enough cream. It certainly didn’t look creamy like the photo on their website. I’ve been to many Italian restaurants and order this dish always and this was by far the worst. Even a microwave version would have tasted better. ABSOLUTE VILE!!! This was taken away and was given an explanation that it was cooked the Italian way. Having Italian in laws this was definitely not and a cop out excuse. I personally would not return again. The quality reminds me of that typical chain vibe and not an authentic Italian. What ashame.

Came for the lunch menu, what fantastic value!! 2 courses for £15. We had the mushrooms on toast Bruschetta Carbonara Seafood linguine (£4 surcharge) It all tasted amazing. Service was really friendly. We had one soft drink each, after service charge the total for lunch was £41.

Food was delicious and attentive service from Claudia. Such a stunning setting too. Would definitely come here again.

I have been to many family run Italian restaurants and all have been great. Unfortunately this one was let down by the food. Firstly,the pizza garlic bread wasn't fully cooked. The base was still slightly raw in the middle. We ate half and turned a blind eye and was looking forward to the main dish Linguine di mare. The dish came well presented. Unfortunately the mussels and the prawns in the shell tasted a off. I mentioned this to the waiter and he kindly told the chefs. The manager came and apologised but was told the seafood comes in daily and fresh.. Maybe I'm just unlucky

Fantastic Italian restaurant. Very busy when we visited on a Saturday lunchtime but we were still very well looked after by the pleasant and attentive staff, and we weren't waiting long for our food. All of our food was superb - had a few pasta and pizzas between us and they were all very well done. What's more, the lunch offer is £15 for two courses which is tremendous value.

Good Italian food Was at a wedding party that seated about 60 upstairs. Service was quite good and attentive. Food was well prepared, desserts were well done. Bathrooms were clean

Love it. Lasagna was great as was the salmon special. Even the soup and goat salad. And the freshest black pepper I’ve had in a restaurant. To me, that’s a detail that shows true commitment to quality. We will return. Thank you.

Always a good place to visit. Lively atmosphere. We sat upstairs as I found it more roomy. Tasty food, and plenty of it.

Great authentic old school flavours

Food was lovely, just slightly oily for me. The reason i’ve given them a 2 star is because this restaurant was definitely not baby friendly, firstly there is a limited amount of baby high chairs, baby changing rooms do not have male access (ridiculous if you were a single dad), stairs everywhere so no space for your buggy but the absolute worst was that we asked for hot water towards the end of our meal and the lady serving us forgot my thermos on the ledge of the stairs and so I asked someone else and he added an EXTRA £2 to the bill for hot water???? Heaven forbid your child needed a place to sit, lay their head or eat they aren’t willing to help! SO DISAPPOINTING!

Been here a few times now and I can certifiably say this is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to. The seafood linguine is amazing, the steak is very delicious and made to your liking accurately. The cocktails are worth your money for sure, lots of flavour with the right amount of alcohol in them. The vibe of the whole place is wonderful, especially upstairs, beautiful.

Lovely Italian restaurant close to St. Albans Cathedral. Great atmosphere and lovely tasty food at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff especially Isabella who put up with us wanting to change our table twice with a smile and quick service. Would definitely recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant if you are ever in St. Albans.

Eaten there tonight. Disappointed with the food. It was ok but lacked real flavour and originality. We all decided we wouldn’t rush back. Service initially was efficient but was slow bringing out the main course. The room was very warm and became very noisy when a large party arrived making it hard to chat. Sorry. Won’t be returning.

Lovely meal, and a great location. Service very good and friendly, without being intrusive. This restaurant is deceptive in size (bigger than you might think) but laid out in such a way that gives you that cosy feeling. Because we went on a Monday evening, (not too busy) we were able to stay longer than we could hope. Not my first visit here, and it won't be my last. Good food! Thank you

Dining alone in a strange city can be awkward but not here. Very welcoming and friendly - food was excellent and staff were attentive and helpful.

We've been here a few times before despite the staff tending to have a bit of an attitude (which we try to put down to them having an off day). But last night, from the very outset, the staff were unfriendly and lackadaisical, with the first waiter not even being bothered to move an inch from his counter at the back to meet and greet when we came in. Then, despite it being quiet with plenty of empty tables, he had to ask if we had a booking and then go off and check before seating us A short while later when we wanted to order as he drew near our table he told us he just had to nip out for a cigarette and that his colleague would serve us in a minute. The food was okay but not great. It then always took forever to get any service at all for more wine etc and we noticed other diners having the same problem. Finally, as we left, they couldn't even be bothered to look up to acknowledge us (as we'd also seen with diners leaving before). We won't be returning.

Food, atmosphere and service was superb! Recommend the garlic bread with mozzarella and the Surf and Turf 😍 Special shout out to Alex, he made the experience perfect with his above and beyond service. Keep you the good work!

Excellent local Italian eatery with great ambience. Although quite expensive it was well worth the visit. Food was excellent along with the wine and customer service. Highly recommend if you are ever in St Albans

As always a great restaurant. Hadn't previously been upstairs - lovely atmosphere, great food and service.

Just had a meal and to be honest i wasn't impressed. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to serve us. Then had the calamari as a starter and it was very overcooked and chewy. I mentioned this to the waitress, she said sorry and that was it. The service was not very good. The staff just seemed to be in the corner chatting instead of serving their customers. Had to wait quite a while for them to take our dessert order then had to ask twice for the bill and was quite shocked to note that they had charged me for the calamari. I then mentioned this the manager on the way out and her attitude was disgusting. No customer care at all. Will not be going back.

Went here for the lunch menu, which was great value! Would recommend booking in advance during busy times though. The Bruschetta and Tagliatelle Luganica were both nice and good quality! Would recommend for a decent meal.

An extensive menu, reasonable prices, nice decor and good service. Couldn’t have asked for much more! Expected to have pizza but the pasta dishes sounded so good we all ended up having those.

Stunning experience at Per Tutti. Very attentive staff and the food is just phenomenal. I had the melanzane parmigiana and my partner had the peperoni pizza, both were a 5/5. Have been before and would definitely return.

I recently celebrated my wife's birthday at this restaurant, along with our 2-year-old son, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. They did everything to accommodate us, the food was delicious, but what really stood out was the exceptional service from Giovanni. He was attentive, friendly, and always there whenever we needed anything, without being intrusive. Highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Giovanni as your server!

The carbonara pasta is pretty good The portion size of the children's set meal is also very sufficient.

Food was excellent. A good amount of variety on the menu covering all the core Italian staples. I would recommend picking something from the pasta or mains menu as whilst the pizza was good, it wasn't outstanding. The decor was nice and contributed to an amazing atmosphere in a small fronted restaurant with a surprising amount of seating space. The service was good, if a little slow.

Nice place for a lunch with a great lunch menu.

Great service and really pleased with the table. Garlic pizza starter with balsamic onions was really good. The main special of Lobster Ravioli was also really enjoyed by my guest. I had Lasagne, and I was disappointed with it. It was just very bland, dry and luke warm in the centre.

Very lovely little place. Good food, and the servers are lovely and friendly.

The food was delicious, especially the linguine with smoked salmon. However, we were required to order at least one main course per person, which resulted in too much food. Despite asking if we could order fewer mains, the waitress said it wasn't allowed, and we couldn't find this policy listed anywhere. We ended up wasting some food, even though it was very good.

What a little Gem A quick Monday Night bite to eat turned in to a delight. Great service. Excellent menu choices, attentive service, flavoursome food . And the place was buzzing . We wondered along the high street etc to find somewhere to eat. Every other eatery was pretty empty some had that tumble weed feeling . Not this place it was busy, busy, busy but from the welcome to the bill the service appeared effortless. Made our Monday evening . The pricing was very fair as well .

Ate there last night (12thJuly’24). Fabulous place, great atmosphere, excellent food (can certainly recommend the chicken and Gorgonzola pasta!) and service was exemplary.

Cold and unfriendly service. Sure I get it, we turned up on a Friday evening with a cranky baby, but the eye-rolls and tuts from the staff were not needed. We got the message and had the food boxed to go.

We visit this place with my husband last night for dinner I can say that the place was so beautiful, but really busy and noisy .we were lucky cause we didn’t book table and they found for us really quick The food was delicious and the ladies in the service really friendly We gonna visit this place soon

This restaurant was recommended by locals for authentic Italian cuisine. If you like mushroom risotto try the Arancini Al Funghi starter or they also have the risotto as a main dish. Pasta dishes were perfectly al dente. Penne Pollo Gorgonzola was subtle, not overwhelming. Charming and romantic décor, perfect for a date night or special occasions.

It's always a joy to visit this wonderful family run Italian Restaurant. Always busy, with a great atmosphere. Excellent friendly, efficient, service. I highly recommend the delicious pollo saltimbocca (chicken that jumps downyour throat). Which we both had, despite the fact it was a Wednesday, Steak Night, which offers some wines at half price. Always best to book.

My partner and I went on a walk around St Albans today and spontaneously decided to ask for a table for 2 in Per Tutti. We are so glad we did, it was lovely. Our server was Claudia and she was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Italian food in generous portions at very reasonable prices. Cosy decor and friendly staff. Very accommodating to special dietary needs as well. Definitely book in advance, especially during weekends.

A lovely restaurant with a relaxed dining vibe. A fantastic menu and all dishes served to us were delicious. Only improvement would be to do a tasting menu of the desserts! For a 3 course meal for 2 with a cocktail and glass of wine under £90!

Really nice decorated restaurant, surprisingly big considering its outside look. Been to a lot of italian restaurants this one kept its authenticity, really nice food, really nice service, truly delighted with my lunchtime outing. Will most deffo be back sooner than later! Kept checking up on us but not too much to the point it was annoying, to put it simply— she was a professional server!

Very nice little restaurant with pretty good prices and lovely Italian food. Me and my girlfriend did the lunch deal and was very good value, though her pizza was much better value for the portion than my pasta dish, both were lovely. The place was a bit of a tight squeeze as most tables were full and a small room, however this was not a stressful environment as expected and made for a very nice cosy experience. Would return and recommend to a friend.

Food was ok. I had the chicken supreme and to be honest I expected more for a £20 main. It wasn’t cooked particularly well and I just think there should have been more to it for the price. I’ve eaten in a lot of restaurants in St Albans and I would honestly look elsewhere to get more for your money.

Everything about our visit was lovely. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The first table we were offered was a bit too busy, so the staff were happy to reseat us. Orders were taken in a timely manner. The food arrived soon after. My mushroom starter was mind blowingly good. My main was a decent seafood linguine. There was a good amount of shellfish in a perfect sauce. Al dente pasta cooked to perfection. The tiramisu was one of the nicest I've had in a while. Prices were reasonable... We'd spent more on mains in Zzizzi's the month before and the quality of food and service at Per Tutti was far and away superior. Can't wait to go back.

Good food, good experience overall

Came here for a proper Italian and that’s what we got😍 proper authentic Italian food with a lovely menu. The atmosphere was brilliant and the building is decorated beautifully. All of our servers were prompt and polite. We had our order taken quickly, and were very lucky to get a table as a walk in on a Friday night! On top of all this, the price was fantastic. Really reasonable for such a lovely evening. Thankyou🤩

The best Italian restaurant in the city, visited countless times and always have delicious food and impeccable service. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is lovely and it is very goof value. Perfect destination for a romantic dinner date - the staff were so helpful and accommodating, they went above and beyond to deliver a romantic evening my fiancé and I will always cherish! 30+ years in St Albans - this is my favourite restaurant!

Very friendly staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere & delicious food.The only negative is the steps going into the restaurant are very steep for people who have issues with climbing.

Lovely Italian restaurant with super good value lunch deal. We went for lunch on a Saturday and had the two-course lunch deal. The starter and the pasta were delicious and the tiramisu was amazing as well! The service was decent and the atmosphere was great!

What a perfect find! We were staying nearby and on the first evening we were there, it was also their Steak night. The place was packed but the waitress had found a table for us (when we did not make any reservation). Food was great. Great portions. Good price. Great service. Thumbs up. Will definitely be back

This restaurant never disappoints, we went back after 4y of not being in st Albans and the food still is tasty, prices are very reasonable, service is nice and efficient and the kids menu is perfect.
