Zaza Harpenden in St Albans

The organic beef shin kofte was delicious and so well complimented on a bed of harissa and yoghurt laden slightly crisped pita. I had the roasted turmeric cauliflower that was made that extra special with snippets of crisp currents and pine kernels. All accompanied with a glass if very smooth organic Turkish red. I highly recommend a visit.

Came here for dinner with my friends after work and loved the interior design! Food was good although with some intolerances to work with my choices were limited but they were good at advising what I could and couldn’t have. Was a little disappointed I was charged extra for some veg when I couldn’t have bread with the hummus but they still charged me full price for the beef kofte without any pittas which was a substantial part of the plate for my friend who had the same dish

We always enjoy the food at Tabure, delicious meals cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly but service isn’t 100% considering we paid close to £50 per head. We were 5 mins late arriving and had to ask to order drinks 10 mins after sitting down and were told we were next on the list. Then towards the end of our meal we were reminded we needed to give the table back which was fine but made us feel rushed, and then couldn’t get anyone’s attention for the bill. Took the shine off the whole experience. It felt very busy and people were gathering in the entrance for the second sitting. I get that restaurants need to turn tables but make sure service is super efficient so the diners don’t feel rushed.

Food fantastic, service fantastic, all staff fantastic but the star draw is Eddie who should be on a stage. Worth going just to meet him!

♥️♥️ Fabulous meal yet again, always greeted with a friendly face. Went for something off the specials menu to start aracini rocket... Delish... Had the meatball calzone for mains (I'd started to eat my calzone!)... Other half had the calamari to start and meatballs & spaghetti with a side portion of sauteed mushrooms...all went down a treat as per. We were also presented with a lovely plate with a couple of complimentary limoncellos ♥️. I dont want to be repetitive but this restaurant has everything ..fantastic service, friendly staff and fabulous food. See you again soon.

The food was nice -I did feel like too many tables crammed closely and the back of my chair kept shaking as my booth was attached to the next. We were 10 mins late, and the staff did keep mentioning right from the start that they need the table for the next person - felt a little rushed. It was nice that we were asked if everything was going ok whilst eating, but it was too frequent. It became a running joke and we started counting how many times they would say it (we made it 8). Each time, they interrupted a conversation, and wasn't very comfortable to sit through.

Lovely place, food is great and staff are helpful and friendly. Lovely birthday treats as well. Cannot fault, well done.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants for any special occasion it’s always my go-to choice. The reasons are plenty the unique flavor, exceptional service, and the amazing vibe that make the experience unforgettable.

Zazas Harpenden consistently provides excellent food and service in pleasant surroundings. Tables are well spaced and prices represent very good value. The staff are friendly and very efficient which adds to the dining experience. Highly recommended.

Just love this restaurant ♥️. Always a friendly welcome, the staff really do make this place, its such a well managed restaurant. We just love the food, even though on many occasions I go opt for the penne Toscana 😋 I just can't resist it. Was presented with a lovely complimentary dessert ♥️. Looking forward to next visit.

Great food and service. Nice atmosphere. Only criticism would be the Baclava desert looked nothing like the one on the web site photo and overall in our opinion its all a bit overpriced.

At very short notice, Zaza managed to fit 16 in of us in for our annual family Christmas get together. Their communication from start to end was fantastic, the service was impeccable including learning all our names by the end of it. The food was delicious and we will definitely return. Super nice staff, cant do enough for you. I highly recommend, one of the few places around that still pride themselves on service and great cuisine!

We visited on an off chance as it was my husband’s birthday, we’d been to London for the day & our timings meant that we could come home & eat locally. Although we hadn’t booked Larisa greeted us & we were lucky as there was a table free until later that evening. My husband was made to feel so special with a complimentary glass of fizz. The food was delicious & served piping hot. As we had been eating treats throughout the day we couldn’t manage a dessert however a small tiramisu with a candle on a decorated plate came along & the waiter sang happy birthday to my husband. This was all completely unexpected & a wonderful treat. Every one of the team at Zaza were amazingly, all friendly & polite & couldn’t do enough for us. We can’t wait to eat at Zaza again - no wonder they are celebrating their 20th year!

My family and I celebrated my 80th birthday here and I'd like to say a big thank you to all the staff who were pleasant, helpful and attentive. The venue is very attractive and has a lovely vibe. We have been here before and all my family (25 of us) love the quality and quantity of the food. It's good value for money and the food is consistently of a high standard so coming from a family of foodies this is praise indeed. Well done and a big thank you to all the staff on the 7th December.

Was working in the area and fancied an Indian, fortunately I mistakenly thought Tabure was an Indian and went in. Quickly discovered it wasn't Indian! But wow, what absolutely gorgeous food, lovely atmosphere and decor, so friendly staff. Very pleased I made thus mistake and will definitely be in again when next in the area.

Eaten here many times and Zaza never disappoints. Food and service are always top notch, such depth of flavours. The lunch deal is very good value and in the evening the upstairs especially has a lovely atmosphere. Keep up the good work, highly recommended.

Second time dining here, this time for wedding anniversary celebration. Welcomed with some comlimentary bubbles. Lovely service and a great menu selection. The food is very good and the staff very attentive and friendly.

Tabure is a fantastic restaurant. Their dishes are all incredibly tasty - babaganus, chargrilled chicken, beef kofte, seafood pasta, mushrooms with whipped feta... all have such depth of flavour it's hard to go wrong. The atmosphere is cosy and service is warm and friendly. All this does come at a price, but at around £30-£45 per person for dinner (excluding drinks) I still think it's excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Had lunch here with my daughter, greeted by friendly staff. Shared goats cheese tart as a starter, for mains my daughter had sautéed king prawns with garlic butter and I had sautéed king prawns with tomato and chilli, everything absolutely delicious. Fabulous Service. Would highly recommend..

Such tasty food and a beautiful restaurant

OH MY GOD, WOW!! This place is exceptional. We're new to Harpenden, so having been trying and supporting everyone local. First of all the interior is welcoming and the staff immediately friendly. We felt comfortable instantly. But THEN, the food arrived. WOW............I said Wow right? Unlike "Nonnos" which is a huge No-NO, Tabure is a 1,000% YES and I can never have hummus anywhere else again, without disappointed. Absolutely exceptional in every sense of the word and we cannot wait to return. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

As I have said numerous times Zaza is the place to be if you want a lovely night out. What a beautiful meal once again never fails me with my one choice the Meatball Calzone. However the Lamb Shanks looked very impressive and was thoroughly enjoyed by my family member. The word must be out because this was the first time I went and there were three parties celebrating birthdays. So if you have not made a reservation to dine at Zaza put this venue on your to do list. It is a wonderful night out 5*

Have now been here a few times and I have to say it’s one of my fav places! Food delicious steaks are amazing! and the staff very friendly. Not local to us but worth the train trip! We will be back soon !

Zaza is a favourite of ours and we returned here dining as a group of eight on 10/8. As usual the food and service was excellent and we had no complaints. A great location with a good vibe which always delivers. We will be back.

The food was delicious, and served really quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy. The garlic bread with cheese was really cheesy and everyone in our group enjoyed the meal!

Yet again another fabulous meal at Zaza Harpenden. The staff really do make this place and obviously the fabulous food. We had risotto and the spaghetti and meatballs, both had side portion of sauteed garlic mushrooms 😋, we shared a creme brulee with an extra scoop of coconut ice cream 😋. Thank you again for a lovely meal.

My girlfriend and I went ok a Tuesday evening for a birthday meal. I booked online which was very easy and added a “special request” of ‘Birthday Celebration’. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely host, who showed us upstairs to our table. We sat directly under the olive tree; the decor was impeccable - a perfect take on modern Italy with a traditional feel. The food was delicious and the dining experience was perfect. The highlight of the evening were our waitresses. Our waitresses were attentive but not too much, and their communication was warm, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They gave us a complimentary drink and a “Happy Birthday” decorated plate to celebrate the occasion. We traveled from 45 minutes away to try and we will be back again next month to eat here again! Wonderful job! I would highly highly recommend visiting Zaza for a lovely meal.

We had a lovely meal, with excellent service. One of our party is elderly and disabled, and the staff were extremely helpful, providing an easily accessible table and accommodation for the wheelchair. The restaurant is attractive, with a nice friendly atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Would definitely visit again.

Beautiful restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. I think the food overall was excellent and the service, great. Avoid the chicken wings. Gristley bits of chicken with the skin on. Also I was assured that the reason why the king prawns in their shell were mushy was due to slow cooking. Nah. Perhaps get fresh prawns in as the rest of the dish was superb.

Attentive service. Great atmosphere and buzz about the place. Recommend the mezze dishes, a great twist on the usual stuff. Cocktails great too. Return visit a few years on. The menu is a little more refined and very good. Particularly enjoyed the chopped tomato, cucumber and onion salad as a side dish. Lovely fresh mint tea to end the meal.

Really nice dinner, great selection of very tasty foods, washed down with Efes !! What's not to like.

First time and will be last time, I ordered the chicken for dinner and my husband ordered the roast beef. Mine Came up was so tough. when I asked them to change it, they took it away and they proded at the chicken. The Waitress them came back and offered to change the meal after telling me there was nothing wrong with the food it was because I didn’t like, in a very loud voice. They refused to take my husband food back So we had to eat separately which is most disappointing when you have gone to have lunch together. Be warned the only have one set of condiments in the entire restaurant. They most definitely have no etiquette or idea on how to serve in a restaurant Restaurant and then the had the audacity to try and charge 12.5% service charge. Most definitely won’t be recommending nor returning.

Highly recommend Zaza, the food is fantastic, setting is lovely and the staff are brilliant. Visited for my daughters birthday & the staff gave her a free prosecco and then sang happy birthday with some cake, a really lovely unexpected touch. We had the bruschetta, mushroom fritters & goats cheese tart for starters all of them were delicious. Mains were margherita pizza, a meat pizza & spinach ricotta pasta parcels, all went down a treat. Desserts were chocolate brownie and ice cream again really delicious. Look forward to visiting again. The owners should be proud of their staff they really are a credit to this restaurant

Unfortunately, I can only rate the service which was very unprofessional because we were lied too on entrance that the restaurant was closed. If they didn’t want to let us in due to a dress code this would have been perfectly fine, however being told ‘ we’re closed ‘ at 9:30pm when it very evidently states on the door and online that they’re open till 11pm. Ended up going to Zaza down the road who were very polite since having given Tabure the benefit of the doubt at the fact they were closed, but once we finished we had seen Tabure was still very much open with customers eating at 10:30pm. This was enough evidence to know we had been lied too. Whether this was in regards to superficial reasons such as clothing (we were wearing gym clothes) or the fact we were people of colour entering an establishment which only had a certain demographic of individuals inside which we did not fit? Truthfully, we will never know because of the lack of professionalism displayed. Cannot speak for the whole team as we had only encountered one individual so do not want to discredit everyone. But I hope this person learns to treat others with respect and display more professionalism.

I order the lamb dish for £19.00 which only came with HALF SMALL Pitta. Made a fuss and asked for another half at no cost. Disappointed that I had to make a fuss about the half pitta . They should provide with full one as on menu.

Lovely food and service a bit overpriced

Food was fabulous as usual. Only complaint is that I think the dried flowers give me bad hay fever.

Great food, service and ambience. We ordered separately then shared the starter and main dishes amongst our group of 5 as suggested by the waitress - it was impossible to choose a favourite as they were all so good! There were a wide selection of options for the vegetarian. The quality and flavour made the price well worthwhile for a special occasion.

Our second time visiting Tabure, this time to try out their take on a Sunday roast. It was delicious, beef was melt in the mouth. The only thing I could’ve done without was the cinnamon on the veg gratin but that’s just a personal preference. Lovely service and a great way to spend Sunday.

If you are looking for a huge meal look elsewhere or order a few sides. But if you are looking for quality over quantity then this place is perfect. Beautiful food, rich in flavour, and very well presented. Very friendly service too!!

Very accommodating and generous with the cheese! The scouts were overall very impressed with the pizza quality and taste. Only slight niggle was that the basil taste wasn’t consistent in every bite. Bonus points awarded for free brownies!

We were let down by a nearby restaurant for Mother’s Day lunch which my children had booked today. We called Zaza and they had a table for 6 free. From entry into the restaurant we were welcomed by staff, we felt cared for during our visit and the food was superb. Larisa in particular gave us the best customer service as did other staff. Our first visit here but definitely not our last.

We fancied a meal at Saturday lunchtime at Zaza whilst in Harpenden , We had not booked but had had lunch there before without booking. We arrived at around 1pm We were greeted by a rude girl who told us -whilst the restaurant looked empty and there were plenty of tables -that we could only have the table for an hour She then showed us to a table next to a family with a baby and a baby buggy on top of that table We walked out.

What a lovely restaurant. The atmosphere and night experience make it special for all sorts of occasions. The menu is fantastic there's something for everyone so no one is left out. However I must be bias in this regard and say that the Meatball Calzone is the best thing on the menu. Words cannot do this dish justice it is truly out of this world. If nothing else find out for yourself you will not be disappointed. Value for money would be something I would have expected to pay in any West End night spot. So if you want to treat that special someone in your life or family gathering ZAZA should be top of your list. 5* for sure.

We visit ZaZa around twice a month, the food is always excellent, the staff and really great too. It’s our go to for a family meal out.

I've visited Tabure a few times now and I've always had a great experience, staff are great and the food is always delicious. Sitting on the high chairs gives a great view of the chefs prepping and cooking food, tapas style menu so it's suggested you order a few dishes per person and honestly every dish packs flavour and cooked to perfection. Harpenden has a great choice of restaurants and Tabure is easily one of the best places to eat, the chicken wings and pulled lamb are recommended

I visited with my partner for my birthday meal. I was SO nervous because I have a severe nut allergy so often do not try out new restaurants. We called in advance to inform the restaurant and the lady who answered the phone was amazing and reassured that all would be fine. When we got there, I was anxious as we were sat close to another table (this is not at fault of the restaurant I am just anxious) we asked to move and they happily moved us no problems at all. They had a QR code for allergies and the waitress even knew why dish was safe off the top of her head. I felt so safe and comfortable the whole meal and we had the best experience ever. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was sooo good. We will 100% visit again and bring friends and family. Thank you so much for making me feel at ease. They made me feel special on my birthday with a free glass of Prosecco and they sang happy birthday to me with a desert. Highly highly recommend for those who have allergies!

Yet another delicious meal at Zaza Harpenden. We just love this place, had the spaghetti carbonara with side portion of sauteed garlic mushrooms 😋.. partner had Polla Diavola (char grilled half chicken) with sliced nduja sausage with sauteed garlic mushrooms ... Creme brulee for dessert 😋.. we think this place is absolutely fab...staff are so welcoming and attentive..never been disappointed.... Our go to restaurant in Harpenden ..I live in Hertford.... Can't wait to return 😃

We reserved a table for twelve on the set menu. Unfortunately the restaurant realised the day before that they had recorded the wrong date (I’m still not sure whose error this was). First time I have left a Turkish restaurant still hungry. We were dissuaded by waitress from ordering "Larger Dishes" in favour of "Smaller Dishes" which was utterly disappointing. £16 for a single chicken thigh and £6 for 3 potato squares is robbery. They served the tava with half a pitta...who stole my other half...cost of living that bad in Harpenden? The smoked Babaganoush and halloumi were tasty though

What a lovely evening we had at Tabure, Harpenden. Every dish we had was simply exceptional. Well crafted dishes that had fusion flavours as promised. Service was very attentive as well. Would highly, highly recommend!

It was a random visit due to rainy evening, but it was some kind of discovery. Yes, it was more expensive as we usually pay in such places, but it was definitely worth it - quality of the food is pretty nice and the service is pretty good as well. Also they have our favourite turkish coffee.

On a Sunday afternoon I was looking for halal diner in Harpenden whilst I dropped my daughter off to her friends birthday party at Roundwood Primary School. When I enquired if the meat/chicken was halal/kosher, she was totally honest and said No. I know from past experience, honesty and integrity is compromised in the food business so I opted for a quick vegan option and chose the halumi and bread! Absolutely amazing taste and will be back for a proper sit down, God willing. ❤️
