Zavi Restaurant in Greenwich

Attended this restaurant for a birthday celebration. Venue and decor lovely!!!with free parking outside after 7pm Food not the greatest but wasn't bad. Mains served with rice and couldn't be swapped for chips which was not great and questionable ( first turkish I've been to not to do this) staff accommodated bday celebrations music Selection which was a plus and private dining area looked great.

Excellent cuisine the right quantity delicious. Calamari cooked to perfection the bbq lamb and chicken cubes perfect with the rice chilli and garlic sauce . Beautiful drop of medium red. Friendly staff and good service. What’s not to like.

I can't say thank you enough! The venue is stunning, the service is A* and the food is delicious. I hired the private dinning area for my daughter's 18th birthday and the service was out of this world. The staff are so warm, friendly and accommodating- the whole experience was just so lovely. Thank you Zavi, you guys are doing an amazing job.

Food was excellent. We started with sharing the humous, best I have had and the bread was superb. For mains we had the lamb shank and the mixed grill. Both was wonderful, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Minor annoyance, the long plate that the mixed grill was served on would easily spin when trying to cut any of the meet as there were no table mats.

Booked a 20ppl birthday dinner at Zavi’s for my milestone birthday. Absolutely fantastic service, food and drinks. Great decor and atmosphere. Staff were bubbly and happy to take requests. They also have a very cute private room you could hire but honestly I feel the vibe is better in the main restaurant :) Didn’t take any pics, was too busy enjoying myself! 10/10 worth the price.

Not the most inspiring area but that has nothing to do with the venue itself. Although somehow it almost does as the gloomy atmosphere kind of transfers to the vibe inside - (it felt like there wasn’t any). Really nice food and drinks so can’t fault it at all for that but just felt a bit dead and lacking in ambience. Not sure if it’s new and needs more advertising or if the location (off the beaten track) has put potential guests off or could have been just a quiet day. Still better than it being really rowdy and annoying so I shouldn’t really complain!

Booked here for my partners birthday with my family, was a little bit anxious as the prices were quite high and didn't want anyone to be disappointed. But the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Salmon & asparagus and it was cooked beautifully, a few of the others had the mixed grill which they all agreed was cooked really well and extremely tasty. Service was good and they even sung happy birthday to my partner (even if it was the 3rd one that night). We all left there feeling very satisfied and agreed it was one of the nicest meals we've had in ages. We will definitely recommend to friends!

Every time I've been or taken people, it's been a success. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Last visit was yesterday evening. I took my parents and brother and they all loved the food. And to kickstart the evening, as we were sitting, another couple who was just leaving literally told them "this place is amazing, the food is great!". My parents went for the Mixed grill like I recommended as it's one of my fav on the menu and they loved it. My brother's salmon fillet w/ asparagus looked appetizing (and was too) and my all time favourite - the Kleftiko - was amazing as always. They all had mocktails (the Virgin Pina Colada and another one which name I can't recall, with red berries and caramel syrup) and they were really good I'm told. My mojito was nice enough. I also had my birthday meal at Zavi with my mum at end of October and they had lots of lovely attentions and even brought us a Baklava on the house. The food - as always - was really good too. All in all, this is one of my go-to in the area. They have a back room that you can hire for a function (not tried yet). And my recommendations so far : Mixed grill, Kleftiko, King prawns, Saganaki cheese (flamed in brandy!) and I quite like the Seafood sauteed too !

We visited for the first time last night, we've been meaning to go for a while. After a very long week at work we wanted dinner and cocktails and have to say the food was delicious and cocktails were fab. Apologies theres no pictures I usually do take but it was well presented. Everyone cleared their plates . I had the lamb chops which were really juicy. Mixed grill, chicken dish, mousaka and chicken Betyi were all delicious. I look forward to returning and enjoying a dessert, was eying up the orange creme brulee but was just too stuffed. See you soon

I just want to thank Zavi for looking after my mum and her friends for her birthday . The staff and management was super friendly and accommodating.Not to add the food was amazing. If you want to make a group booking that has everything you would expect at a restaurant and more ,this is the place for you.

I’d heard from a friend the food here was outstanding. I dragged my Turkish husband along on a Sunday evening. The 2 male waiters who served us looked like someone had recently killed their dog. The older one who I assumed was the manager was very abrupt and quite rude. We ordered a mixed cold meze that was actually very nice. The mains were Lamb Beyti and Mixed Grill. Both pleasant enough if not a bit over cooked. Drinks were 1 beer and 1 cider. Bill was £87 including a 10% service charge. The service was appalling and although the food was ok it’s terribly over priced compared to a lot of other Turkish Restaurants we’ve been to.

Firstly the prices – the menu outside gives prices that appear reasonable; on sitting down however, you are given a menu some 20% more expensive than the one outside. At the end, you are given a bill that now also includes a 10% service charge. So, the meal you see on the menu outside at £60 becomes £72 when you order, then £79.20 when you get the bill; Around a third more expensive than the outside menu. All of which I would perhaps let go if I had enjoyed an outstanding meal, but sadly the whole experience was somewhat under-whelming. A waitress who clearly wanted to be somewhere else was far too slow in every element; everything was a wait, and everything was done without the faintest hint of a smile or any indication that this server had ever received any formal training in food and beverage service. As for the food; it’s grilled meat, not Michelin star cooking; how hard can it be? A very attractive mixed grill was slightly over-cooked and subsequently too dry; my Wife’s chicken shish was generous but also over; the smallest dish of chilli sauce did little to help. In summary, average food that could have been far better with a little care; appalling indifferent service, and a sting with the menu pricing verging on a confidence trick. An evening and £80 that I will never get back; Far too many places doing the same thing better to ever consider returning.

Celebrated my twins birthday with family and couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Service was brilliant and food amazing. Loved the cocktails!!

We came here as we were in the neighbourhood for our children’s birthday and our daughter said she wanted to go to a restaurant. The food was lovely, the staff were attentive. Nice decor, I like the way the kitchen is so visible. The music is a touch on the louder side so if you want a quieter place , be aware, but of course for us it was fine. Lovely menu choices and very nicely presented. The staff even put a candle in our daughters ice cream and all sang (with music playing too) as they’d realised it was her bday. Would definitely recommend and looks like a lovely venue for dates or even a party 👌

The service here was so good, the food tasted divine, the staff were super friendly, my sister and my friend enjoyed their time here too. I recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

My observations: - waiter was somewhat OTT. Some aspects unnecessarily showy. Some food overcooked. Not asked how we’d like the lamb cooked. Noisy environment midweek. Banquette seating too low. I’m fast becoming the biggest fan of Zavi, I’ve passed it so many times on my journeys through the area and my curiosity got the better of me and I’m so happy it did. Ali who I assume is front of house is a warm welcome, coupled with the incredible decor of the place -- blue and gold Art Deco, money has been spent here and in the right places! The food is stand out wonderful, flaming Saganaki to start is pure theatre followed by a selection of whatever you like. I’m a big fan of the lamb Shish, quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. ( I was told that sourcing quality meat is the key - and it really shows) All the staff are super friendly and each take the time to get to know you. I can’t speak highly enough of Zavi - it’s a winner! Bravo!

I booked for 5 of us for a friends birthday on a Friday after seeing their website advertising, belly dancer and DJ entertainment.. neither of these were present and after asking the waiter where was the DJ he said they didn’t have one.
