Zarkas in Stoke-on-Trent

I have been a Zarkas customer for 40 years. It used to be one of the "go to" places for the staff at local nightclubs like The Place in Hanley, The Placemate in Newcastle and Chicos in Hanley to go, to meet up over a meal after they finished work, I know this is true because I was one of them. Unfortunately the vibrant buzz is missing these days and sadly the menu is the same as too many other take-aways so there is nothing to make it stand out. The staff are nice. The place is clean and you can eat in as well as take out. My personal favourite from Zarkas is a jacket potato with "butter" and popcorn chicken. There is no car park but there is some street parking and it is near bus stops. It is near Stoke Railway Station and not too far from Cauldon and Hanley parks and Staffs Uni and they do deliver.

I have dined in at Zarkas few days ago. I had Tandoori chicken and rice which was average. The price here is comparatively cheaper to other shops nearby.

Normally have no problems but on this occasion I was missing items from my order and considering the cost these days it's not acceptable

I had a lamb vindaloo pilau rice very salty vindaloo not spicy hot very poor

The customer service and management at this establishment were highly unsatisfactory. After placing my order, I waited for more than 30 minutes. During this time, they processed and served two additional orders of the same item to other customers. Eventually, I was informed that the item was no longer available and was offered an alternative or to wait for another hour. The staff exhibited a complete disregard for new customers, making this a highly unsuitable place for first-time visitors.

Gorgeous food but left all toppings apart from egg which I payed extra for then rang me and asked my location apparent pick up ( email says otherwise)

We had a delivery so can't really comment on atmosphere but delivery driver was nice n polite and Food was amazing the flavours were phenomenal n IV got to say the best veg pakora IV tasted in years will deffo be ordering again

Really bad quality and portion size, ordered student deal 1 which is 10 pound and got 2 pieces of donor few chips and pizza with the thinnest dough possible do not recommend worst place ever in Shelton

The food is exceptional, the service is outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoy the experience. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the consistently fresh food is a delight.

Missing items rude on phone balti was tasteless terrible

Absolutely no stars deserved. The owner is rude, entitled and refuses to admit when he has got an order wrong then procedes to shout at customers. Shocking service, will not be back again as the manager is an utter knobhead.

I come to this takeaway at least once every 2 weeks or so. And their food never disappoints. The quality in their food is a 5/5 and the workers are always so nice. They always make sure they have your order correct. There's always a chill atmosphere when waiting for the food.

My order arrived cold not very appertizing at all .... and the chicken was mostly bone ... plus there were bones in the kebab meat which I nearly broke my tooth on ... plus there was a lot of coating on the chicken and it was tough to chew 😕 and the outside was soggy please sort you food standards out Thank you

I ordered chicken peri burger and fries wings from them and it was quite disappointing, the dried wings had so much coatings around it which was so hard to chew it felt as tho some hard cornflakes. The peri burger was burnt and was just not satisfied at all. The pizza I ordered last week has raw mushrooms on them cut so thick that it was disgusting to chew. I would never order from these guys again. They don't focus on consistency of their food

All food is really bad or mediocreat best.... pizza is bland and flavourless , curry's are mush and again really just awful. Typical sweat shop takeaway with no moral and or direction. I'm surprised they manage to get any order right after them missing things on various occasions, and swapping things for the fun of it speaking to their customers like they are something special with attitude and completely without any manners, again isnt a great way to go...and not to mention them making up prices as they go for the fun of it. Seriously had it with this place , I can't beleive how on earth these ****holes stay in business , I really don't. They bring the city to its knees with their lacking of standards and care. Scummy place. Stay clear.

The worsed balti I have ever seen never mind tasted. Never again will I order food from this place.

excellent best cheeseburger and chip's in stoke

Such an old school take away, had the family kebab for 2 people and it was huge, couldn't finish it but the food tasted good. Decor hasn't changed for many years but you don't come here for that, you come just for the food.

One of the cook was very rude when I asked him for forks said to me don’t you have them at home and when he did the bill I asked him to add water aswell then he goes stop giving me a headache like dude I am paying for all this stuff, totally unprofessional behaviour

Customer service was bad. They think that they are a premium shopm but very poor quality. Taste is also very bad. Please behave properly with your customers

Food and service is amazing, I've only ever been there very late at night when it's been very quiet due to being in a band. Whenever we play in stoke we always go there so don't know what it's like during early hours, but highly recommend the food.

I ordered on Zarkas's website, and the delivery was very fast, quicker than what the timer said on the website 😁 Great quality tasting food 😋 The 16" Zarkas meat feast pizza 🍕 was banging 👌 😋 £13.95. Great portion sizes 👌 very filling 👌 Free parking outside for about 30 minutes, 32 seats inside with tables to eat your food 😋 I've also had the Zarkas special mixed kebab which is also another 10/10 meal 😁 £12.95 extra 50p for garlic nan 😋 There is a toilet for customers upstairs 🚻 Big menu to choose from curries, pizza, burgers, chips, mixed kebabs, rice, wraps 😋 Thank you, Team Zarkas 🙏 💙

Chips were raw guy came along dropped them in the fryer literally 1 min later another guy picked it up again and put them in My box 🤢 Donner could of done with longer. It looked paler than me tomorrow when I get food poisoning. Top it off coke wasn't cold. Great Really avarage.

Food was amazing except from the fact that under my chair there was still fresh bubble-gum that I had been sitting on for quite a while without realizing and I got quite angry at the fact they did not perceive this or clean up . I'm quite ashamed as these track bottoms were my favourite.

Had a lamb kebab chips and salad.... menu said it was £5.50... charged £8.00... extra for the nan... since when has a kebab been with out nan... may be its because im white, maybe because id been drinking.. if your either of these dont bother eating here . Open for takeaways, even during corona-virus pandemic. Excellent lamb shish kebab. 06/04/2022 The shish kebab has turned terrible. It was so oily, I couldn't eat all of it. Also they charge an extra 50 p for card.

This place use to be a good takeaway, but recently gone down bank (very horrible and not fresh food) order Korma and chesy nan bread, but got chicken tika curry which was sloopy and nasty ,also the nan bread has more a less a whole onion inside it what I never asked for! My daughters chicken n chips came with slimy grey chicken what smelt of! And the chips were rock hard! Some1 is going end up getting bad food poisoning if they don't bucknup there hygiene!

Chicken Shawarma and rice; portion is large but unfortunately not very tasty. Also appear to be not too welcoming.

Not the first time ordering from here and usually they’re really good! This time, after our usual order and paying a delivery charge & a service charge, I get a phone call 30 minutes after ordering saying the driver won’t deliver the food unless he gets £3 more!!! Never been a problem before and shan’t be ordering from here again!

Foods occasionally nice. Its cheap and cheerful, But ordered fried onions on my cheeseburger tonight and cremated is an understatement, the onion snapped and worse still there was lots of it and it was the cheese side so ended up with a very bland plain burger. What a shame 😔

I ordered the Value Grill for £6.95 with a large helping of chicken tikka and it was delicious. I had chips, salad, doner meat and chicken tikka. It was hot, fresh and tasty. Loved it. Well worth the money and it fed 2 of us, easily! So if you are staying in Stoke or travelling through then we'll worth stopping there to grab a bite. There is a seriously extensive menu so something to suit everyone. Loved it! I got the bang for my buck, happy days! ❤️👍😎
