Absolutely love this takeaway great food the best we have tasted since moving to Peterhead thank you

I can only select dips on the review but as it's not got anything else from my order I am really sorry about the length of this review I used to go here when it was the laxmi but I hadn't been in about 4 years, today I decided to go back let me tell you this I do not regret it Me and my partner are currently quite ill and we are isolating from people and each other also cooking is the last thing we'd want to do so I surprised her with a home delivery I got her chicken tikka biryani with Peshwari nan I got lamb biryani with keema nan the portion sizes are great we got a Couple of Papadams each too with their house chutney selection spiced onion,mint and mango you would normally get mixed lime pickle but they swapped it out for me they also put our biryani curry sauce separate (quite a few places don't do this, the delivery was a bit late (it said on Uber eats it would arrive between 2005-2025 it arrived at 2035 we weren't bothered as we didn't plan on eating straight away) So it arrived my partner put it in the kitchen, went back to the bedroom I went to the kitchen to take nan out the bags so the didnt go soggy before I knew it I was loading my biryani on a plate next thing she comes in and starts doing the same, The meat was so tender it fell apart as I ate it barely a need to chew then the rice wow not one bit of stodgy,sticky,clumpy bits in it at all it was perfect the flavours were amazing, I also got coconut rice I have it as a pudding well I will be later as I am absolutely stuffed, I never even managed to take pictures of my biryani for here it was gone as quick I haven't eaten the coconut rice yet but I've tasted it and again just wow, we will be coming back again Thank you I really don't understand why people have gave this places low reviews I seen one from 2 years ago complaining about chicken They ordered tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala then said its the same chicken of course it's the same chicken the chicken tikka is cooked in the tandoori oven then the masala sauce is added so Tandoori chicken is Chicken tikka masala without the sauce, if they just asked instead of going in the huff over something they got wrong then leaving a bad review that would have been a better way to go about things Some folk these days have no culture at all, Makes me laugh so it does

The best checken Balti I had ever with touch of naga sauce. Well recommended.

I'm no expert on indian food, but all I can say is the onion bhaji was soggy, the main course's we ordered were just tasteless. Very dissapointing!

Four of us went to Zara’s on Hogmanay to start our celebrations. The food we all had was fantastic and will definitely be back as this was the best curry I’ve had in Peterhead for many years.

Disgusting place was absolutely freezing and asked if the heating was on to be told just look at me madam that will heat you up 🤮how disgusting is that for customer service never again will I enter that place

My family have been ordering from Zara's for years. We've never once had a bad takeaway. We've always received hot fresh food in huge amounts. Today was my families first time eating in at the restaurant and honestly, I really wish we had done it sooner. We went in for my Dad's 60th birthday. The place looked nice. It was very spacious and had a nice chilled atmosphere. The fellow waiting on us was very friendly, very funny and was very welcoming. He treated us all very well and went out of his way to make sure that our time there was a good one. The food we ordered, it may have been a bit much. Which admittedly was our own fault (my Dad's to be specific lol). But we ordered a fine selection of starters, a few sides and obviously a curry and rice each. Every plate we got was extremely delicious. It was all nice, hot and from what I've experienced, tasted very fresh. At the end of our time there, the staff surprised us with a cake and candle for my Dad. We didn't make any arrangements for this and it was quite a surprise. It was a lovely gesture, one my Dad appreciated. We felt bad that we were already stuffed and had little room for cake. But we left some for the staff because they were awesome. We're definitely planning on going back in. It was great. We were there for two hours and thirty minutes and between the great staff, the food and atmosphere, it didn't feel it. Definitely a hidden gem in our sad little town. If you fancy a sit in curry, this is definitely a place to go.

Ate here for my husbands 60th birthday meal with family. The welcome and the service was amazing, so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, well spiced and huge portions. Would definitely recommend and revisit. Hidden gem in peterhead

Terrible service. Not even an apology for waiting 2 hours for 2 mains. Every customer in the restaurant had the same issue. Shame as the food was good.

Called up and Ordered a set meal for 2, after checking the menu on online (£26.95). went down to pick it up and was charged £32.95. I Was told there was a 12% increase when I asked if I had been over charged . No where online or in any menu does it say there is an increase, except a small piece of paper behind the bar.... I was also asked on the call. What set menu I would like the one for £21.95 or £26.95. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 In all honesty it wasn't that nice and not worth £33

Went here on a Saturday and ordered tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken was dry and tasteless then when the chicken tikka arrived it was the exact same chicken! Was also the only 2 people in the place and still took over an hour for food, I felt it was over priced for what I got aswell, wont be returning.

Got take out was lovely food still hot when arrived service excellent, will definitely have again .

i found these restaurants by chance and what? shock disbelief everything fresh, hot, fragrant, delicious, just a revelation and a lot of taste and the service is professional and discreet, everything is on time and professionally thank you! an unforgettable experience

Excellent, after 2yrs since my last visit here (due to lockdown) I arrived to find the restaurant under new ownership and the new owner along with the staff are very friendly, helpful & accommodating, I asked for a few adjustments to my order that differed from the menu & it was not a problem at all. The food is suberb, the restaurant is clean, warm & friendly. So if your looking at this review & wondering where to eat look no longer just book here, I’ll definitely be back & can’t wait. Well done Zara’s & looking forward to seeing all again soon 👌

Food was nice waitress was good only thing what spoiled it was the manager who seemed to be on a power trip just slowing the staff from doing there job.

Worst food, worst customer service and the longest delivery time I’ve ever had in my life……

Really lovely food however the waiting times are just absurd. It doesn't help when the manager comes out numerous times and says they are just packaging your food yet you're still sitting for 10 minutes extra every time he tells you this.

Booked table at 6.30 never got food till 7.45 terrible service . Kept telling us they were to busy with just eat orders even though we were the only 4 people in the restaurant. The new owners do not deserve your custom would give this place a miss and go to the other restaurant in queen street . Will never go back service was appalling

Chose Zara's on a busy Saturday night, and collected after 40 minutes. Great price, quantity and quality. Huge choice and now on speed dial.

If you like Indian food then this place is fantastic, food was excellent and good value. Usual bright neon lights etc which seems to be the norm for Indian restaurants but other than this service was first class and again the choice and taste of every course makes for a great meal out

Incredible authentic Indian, I had vegetable biryani with vegetable curry sauce, as well very delicious vegetable pakoras! All gluten free and fresh, highly recommend!

Quite a while since we last ate here but had a lovely authentic meal. Vegetable Biriyani and a chefs special 😋 with lemon and almond rice. Would highly recommend 👌

This was our first visit to Zara’s and I must say the meal was lovely. I phoned in the order set meal b Was told it would be ready to collect in 30mins. Was ready on time and there is plenty left for tomorrow. I hope it won’t be too long till the restaurant is open for meals. As will be booking a table. The meal was first class. 5 stars

Went for a carry out and so did not really go right in. But I have to admit that the experience was pleasant enough. The menu was no worse than any other local restaurant, that is none of them seem to have clicked on to the idea of larger print for people with sight problems. You should not have to face the embarrassment of having to ask for a different menu! There was plenty comfortable seating of different heights. The food was hot when we got it and seems to have all been fresh cooked. I think I shall take the time for a meal out there sometime, I think it should be enjoyable.

Opted for the buffet. Disappointed to discover that it had no lamb dishes only chicken and vegetarian.

Well flavoured food, not overcooked, not swimming in ghee. Very friendly. Is still a restaurant and not just a bar/venue. Recommended.

Staying near-by with work and fancied an Indian for dinner. Read the reviews of both of the Indian Restaurants in Peterhead and chose this one - so glad I did. Staff very friendly. Had veg pakora for a starter. The pakora tasted freshly made and was tasty. I like a spicy curry but often feel that having a curry extra spicy detracts from the flavour. 10/10 to the chef, had Chicken tikka garlic masala - ordered vindaloo hot. It was delicious, full of flavour and very spicy - perfect. Well done, suffice to say i’ll be back when i’m next in the area.

We had the buffet this last Sunday and it was great, had not been for a while but it was nice to see it was busy and no wonder as it must be the best buffet in Peterhead, great service, and really nice food, loved the haggis pakora.

The service was very good although a bit sporadic. Excellent value for money but the food itself wasn't that great. Overall fine. Probably wouldn't come back but not unhappy we came. Their naan bread is lovely.

From the outside it does not look very appealing. Some times the food is good and other times it's not. I find the chicken a little on the pink side.

Very good chicken madras with pilau rice. If I'd got a fresh popadom with it I may have given 5 stars... but taste of the curry was super and portion amounts were generous and managed to finish it all! Recommended ****

Had a really bad experience here. Ordered our food and expressed that it be made a bit spicier than rated and was told yes no problem. Our food came and it was cold and tasteless, could only be described as reheated stew not at all Indian cuisine. When we complained ,the young waiter just offered to heat up our food but this couldn't change the taste. We expressed our disappointment and the very young waiter did say he would tell the manager. Sitting waiting and the manager did come out and spoke to several other customers but did not make any effort to approach us. On leaving we voiced our opinion again when asked how we had enjoyed our meal to the cashier. Who did not offer any resolution either but just carried on taking our payment. Very very disappointed!!!!!!!
